Season 3 is very fun, and even S4 is phenomenal right now, arguably i think S4 is on par with s1 cour 2, so i can't wait for alicia to enjoy the right.

i kinda like alicia's solo reactions to rezero, she gets to focus more and actually read between the lines vs chit chats with the guest. No hate on the guest, but this show requires attention to read the subtle dialogue and expressions, and she wouldn't be able to do that if the guest is talking about how they burnt their toast 13 years ago.

Woo! We’re finally starting S3! I’ve been binging S4 to stave off the Re:Zero withdrawal. This is just the opening act and judging by Alicia’s reactions to this episode, we’ve got plenty of fun time ahead.

If there is one thing I absolutely *adore* about this opening to this season, its the build-up, man. Think about it: literal years passed between season 2 and season 3 airing, the season begins, you go in with Alicia's mentality "Its Re:Zero, the boot has to drop eventually" and it's this incredible slow-burn, re-acquainting us with characters we know and haven't seen in a while, dropping some interesting lore teases, really lulling you in with the runtime, and then, right at the *very* end, it finally hits in the most grotesque and uncomfortable way, and... Well... Its really like eatin' asphalt face-first, innit?

I'm starting to wonder if I'm just to demoralized or something, because Alicia had a much stronger reaction to the death sequence than I was expecting. It was awful and gruesome, and if Return by Death wasn't in play and they just died forever I would be scarred by that sequence, unable to finish the show myself. If there was no undo or time travel mechanics involved to soften the blow I would never have gotten this far into this show. But maybe as a viewer I'm relying to heavily on his Return by Death ability to fully feel the emotional impact of this and other deaths. Also I like how this episode is so long yet keeps things nice and fun and peaceful till the end, making Alicia every few minutes realize "oh no, I'm happy. WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN?! JUST GET IT OVER WITH ALREADY!!!".XD Just keeping her on her toes the whole time.

Oh btw some information that the anime just NEVER mentioned (for pacing reasons I guess) During Subarus' "1 year training arc", he got to know the helmet guy some more and found out he was also Isekai'd from Japan just like Subaru. This will NEVER BE MENTIONED or have ANY significance to the story

Yeah that charm spell is one of coolest creepist ways of magic I seen in pretty much any show. The fact you dont get what the living F is going on before its way to late and then it turns into this perversion of "love" were everyone becomes mindless fools watching horrors go down. Perfect way of transitioning from Happy:One back to Re:Zero. I feel sorry for being happy you making reactions to this show, its definitely a journey of much pain. but dispirit that, I dont agree this just pain corn as some criticize Re:Zero to be, Im here to see Subaru beat the evil cruel world, and when he dose its so freaking awesome!

i realized that in this anime where the MC has the most plot-armor like ability they somehow managed to make him actually a completely ordinary guy which allows him to bounce off of other characters in interesting ways. This makes the social drama and world building more interesting by extension. Unlike if he had the ability to never lose. Instead he has the ability to keep trying his best.

One bit of context that get's lost because they didn't add subtitles for "The Sword Demon's Love Song, Act II" it's a ballad about Wilhelm and Theresia. Wilhelm was known as the Sword Demon and the song literally about his first meeting with Theresia. The Lyrics go something like this: At the deserted corner on the outskirts of town, the Sword Demon heads there, carrying loneliness in his hands. What the sword-wielding demon found was a red-haired girl. Without even speaking her name, the girl pointed silently. Ahead of her was a flower field. “Hey, do you like flowers?” The demon replied curtly, “No, I hate them.” Ah, the two still didn’t know that this was their destiny. Living by the sword, living for battle, the love woven between the two. Ah, the hearts that were once closed off have now begun to stir. Toward the day when they bloom like flowers, their love has only just begun.

Some fun under-the-hood stuff: In S1, in the English dub, they pronounced Julius with a hard J (Joo-lias). They apparently got a very polite correction from the LN author, as in the dub of S3, they pronounce it You-lias (or more biblically: Iulius).

I can't imagine what it was like for Subaru to Return that time. His last memory was CHEERING for the death of a little boy with no understanding of why. Then suddenly he dies and his sanity is restored to him with the memory of what he just participated in fully intact. That would melt anyone's mind, for sure.

I love your reactions to Re Zero! Also small clarification on what Joshua meant when he said Julius was a “better knight” wasn’t about strength. It was about being a knight, so dedication, chivalry, knowledge, heroism, etc. Julius has a nickname thats like “Knight of Knights” or “Finest of Knights”. Something like that. Reinhard is undoubtedly stronger.
