Craig Rangoon

... aaaand into the download queue it goes 🤩

Patrick Waldeck

As far as I'm concerned this episode proves that Bumi was telling the truth the whole time. He's the Solid Snake of the Avatar universe.

Agent D.5

Bumi taking down the entire camp in such unbelievable and toony way implies that all his crazy stories are true (shame on you if you thought otherwise) and not exaggerated in the slightest. I'd like to think that he might even downplay some details to make it more believable 😂

Sam Marsh

One thing I love about The Legend Of Korra is that it has some of the best villains in the Avatar franchise, morally complex and well-written antagonists who, despite the terrible actions they take, truly want to make things right with the world. Unalag… is not one of them. His plans and motivations make no sense, nothing in his backstory really explains any of his behaviour, and don’t get me started on the mental gymnastics he undergoes to justify freeing and combining with the literal personification of evil incarnate to destroy the world!

Sam Smith

I agree so much. To me he’s not a villain. Hes just a pawn. The real villain of this season was vhatu. But hey on the bright side we get a great one next season!

Sam Smith

If nothing else, bumi has earned his name. His entire life he’s done things that would make the mad king proud.

Okarun

When is she reacting to Ben ten or Star butterfly gang? Thoughts?

tim othy

To me this just proves that everything bumi claims he did, is accurate if not downplayed 😂

tim othy

My one complaint is, why didn't she try and close the portal from the material world?

mitchhamilton64

vhatu should not have been a villain anyways. he as a representative of yin and yang should know that one too much of one thing is bad. terrible writing.

mitchhamilton64

korra having no idea how unleasing a literal world of unknown and mystical creatures could do to their world "...yeah, ive decided in less than five minutes, this is okay." 🙄

Aliulo

I like how Bumi deciding not to tell them how he pulled it off because they don't believe him basically confirms that all the crazy stories he was telling were true.

Mr.Mystery

I can’t wait wait for her to get to the next season just because the villains are the coolest in the franchise imo. Then eventually Seven Havens.

Ember de la Inframundo

That's, that's not what yin and yang is, please go watch a video on this stuff. The west has no clue what yin and yang are.

Ember de la Inframundo

The critique that Korra devolves into a Western 'Christian duality' is a massive misreading driven by neutrality bias. People see a black-and-white aesthetic and immediately project a 'God vs. Satan' framework onto it, completely ignoring what the narrative actually shows. Raava is Order, and unchecked Order is stagnation. Before Avatar Wan intervened, Raava held Vaatu down for thousands of years, and the result wasn't a perfect utopia—it was a stagnant world where humans lived like caged animals on the backs of Lion Turtles. The narrative explicitly demonstrates that absolute, unchecked 'Light' or 'Order' halts all human progress and growth. The ultimate resolution proves this. Korra doesn’t restore balance by locking the world back down under Raava's total containment. Instead, she intentionally leaves the spirit portals open, choosing to invite Chaos and change back into the world. The narrative is entirely about the danger of unchecked dominance from either side, not a simple battle of good defeating evil. I really dislike how fans frame this as "hur dur balance" and misunderstand yin yang as a entire conecpt. Its about duality not balance.

Ember de la Inframundo

Yeah because Raava unchecked balance literally caused stagnation it was bad, she invited chaos and change and such by doing this to actually help the world.

Jacob

My friend, when I showed him this episode said the same thing and I hadn't thought about the reverse of the 'you won't believe it' coin.

rrrebo

He's so vanilla. Standard cookie-cutter megalomaniac. Worst part of Book 2.

Jonah Daniel Washburn

he's a breath of fresh air, honestly. I like complex villains as much as the next guy, but pure evil assholes are just so much fun

Adam

yeah, he's chaos. Kinda makes me hope Seven Havens tackles that and Raava and Vaatu realize they need to work in balance to fix things.

Adam

because it wasn't balance. It was order.

Adam

that and it wasn't Balance to begin with. Raava is basically the embodiement of order. Vaatu is the embodiement of Chaos. Both together existing is balance.

Adam

after she's done a bunch of actually good shows.

Okarun

bro you don't know what good shows actually are if you think ben 10 doesn't deserve a chance bro. you from the new gen that don't appreciate a good show?

Ember de la Inframundo

Yeah also they aren't perfect abstracts, in Daoism the mountain or the river can also have emotions like pettiness, which is what Vaaatu shows, also what Raava used to show as she used to be arrogant before Wan. This idea abstracts should only act as their function is actually a modern concept. Furthermore, balance in western sense is a noun, in Chinese it's a verb. It's why westerners can get really confused on this topic.

N00B

Balance is a noun and a verb. "The balance" and "to balance" are both correct.
