isnt there the violet evergarden movie

Roberto

This ova takes place in between episode 4 and 5. There are two movies after the series

Xu

They're going to hate to find out there's a movie set after the series. More tears!!!!

E.H.

Uplifting fact: these letters in the military warehouse do get released at an air show that we see in episode 13!

Dracofirestar

A brilliant ova that hits good emotions and the feels all. Ok everyone the movies need to be watched make sure we bring our tissue boxes

Kapitány Zoltán

Can't wait for the movie reaction too. Suffering should never end. :)

mitchhamilton64

jesus, alicia finally watches the opening. still doesnt excuse skipping all of apothecary diaries season 2 second op, and the fact there was a chance she would not have watched the opening to this series if they hadnt put it in this ova. also, why is ant reading aloud over that beautiful song? a bit ironic the first lyrics are "just listening quietly"

Aku

MADE IN ABYSS WOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH

mitchhamilton64

if only people advised her to watch this ova between 4 and 5 🙄

Kemono Friends

Time to watch movie for true closure

xeleasticfox-x23

There are actually two films the first one is really good and a great side story. THe second while beautifully animated, and having an amazing soudntrack tanks the ending and ruins everything the show ahd built character wise.

Liam James

Now you just need to watch the second movie since it is the true end of the series

aliciaxlife

?????? I did react to the season 2 opening. I did it on episode 1. Also “doesn’t excuse” is crazy work.

Ciel Wattson

Personally I recommend leaving the series here, the movie just sucks tbh and ruins the rest of the series, it's better to leave on a high note

Jonathan

I also think Alicia should watch the movie. It brings so much closer to the series. But there will be a lot of crying.

Michael Olson

As you guessed, this is essentially "Episode 4.5" and kind of fills the gap in character growth we see between Episode 4 (Visiting Iris's hometown and being barely emotionally literate) and Episode 5 (Where we see her writing for the Princess). Does a neat job of explaining why Violet got such a high profile job too, since she had just written the highlight song of a hit new opera.

Michael Olson

No need to be so rude. Alicia does a ton of work under difficult conditions. Maybe be a little nicer?

Hommyz1

I always find this series to be emotionally cathartic.

Shay

Yeah, I hope she only reacts to the good one😅

Shay

There's 2 movies, one of them is great and I actually hope she watches it! The other one...yeah, it's unnecessary🥲

Shay

There are two different ones, only one is actually worth watching👍🏾

Shay

Depends on which one. One is absolutely worth it, the other one is pretty looking but it ruins the whole show.

Shay

No, the first one, the second one ruins the whole show and clearly would for Alicia too(she's made it abundantly clear how views certain things)

Shay

Which one? Because with how INCREDIBLY CLEAR Alicia has made her feelings on it, only one of them would actually keep her liking the series; the other one will upset her and just ruin the whole show for her.

Pierce Trent

There is 2 movies to watch as well, 1 is more like an extended ova, but the other is a must watch. You havent really finshed violet evergarden without it.

Bologna Amputation

Wow mitch, if only people weren't constantly spoiling shit in the comments so that she could actually read them and find that advice. So clever you are.

Bologna Amputation

Don't fucking spoil it just because you don't like it.

Bologna Amputation

Man, there's a few dickweeds in these comments who don't seem to understand that spoiling something you don't like is STILL SPOILING.

Shay

Respectfully, it's the opposite. The "extended ova" is a must watch, the other movie is... just unnecessary.

Shay

Except it's not spoiling if there's no hints to what actually happened, expressing dislike and knowing Alicia well enough to tell she would also dislike it doesn't spoil anything.

Shay

@Bologna They didn't spoil anything, though🤨

David

This comment is not saying the truth, both movies are amazing and worth watching and don’t ruin anything, people on the comments lying like this is really… ugh…

Shay

It's not lying, its a very common opinion held by many that felt betrayed by the "ending" (As well as using context from many things she's said in the past to make the "educated guess" that she won't like it either, if she already knows it's a common opinion she will hopefully be pleasantly surprised by other things if she does end up watching it and not be as disappointed as other fans were)

Akkerman27

Please watch the movies

FoobyDude

i mustve watched the wrong one

Domenic

I personally believe the two movies are worth watching as well

Cyber

i dont actually get the hate on the movie. It's not the same, but it's a different ending. I think people are just too invested in a specific ending and they can't allow themselves to see more things. Also, "recovery" and "growth" aren't a linear thing... we've seen it in rezero where a character can learn something but then fight off the pain or make mistakes again or fall down the depression hole again... If anyone would understand that "recovery" is a permanent continuous effort, it's Alicia, like she did in Rezero... just because some things are brought up again, doesn't mean they undo the past events... because it's a continuous effort to move on.

Cyber

how about Alicia gets to make her own opinion instead of what the "common folk" think? The movie was decent and it had some callbacks and some recurring themes that recovery and progression and happiness isn't a linear obstacle that you go over once, but something you have to keep fighting over... similar to how recovery from being an addict, it's that you're always in recovery , and you're not just "cured". people just wanted to end a story in a specific moment, and honestly, i get both sides of it, but i dont think telling someone "dont watch that, it sucks, your opinion doens't matter, just trust mine" is the way to go

Cyber

shay, you dont need to post on every single comment hating on the movie and denying people's opinions. You said your comment once, you shared your opinion, great, but no need to go around invalidating everyone else's opinions and then claiming that "everyone agrees that movie sucks" when you're running around silencing the ones saying they like the movie. Besides, your opinion and mine doesn't matter. This is Alicia's channel, and i think she should get a chance to watch the movie, and if she likes it, she can canonize it, and if she doesnt like it, she can treat it as a bonus extra non-canon content like many franchises do.

Cyber

yeah... the levels of entitlement and expectations by online lifers from content creators is craaaazy. :/ Side note: the guest is saying the lyrics out loud because (im assuming) when it makes it to the youtube release, it allows them to keep the ant audio at high volume and muffle the music for copyright reasons so that it's not completely muted for the youtube version)

Shay

@Cyber Tbh, I was incredibly tired and already pissed back when I replied to people(heck, I'm only replying to you cause I got a notification). I'm a chronic over explainer and I hate seeing people be upset by media, and/or have that media ruined for them, just because their audiences want them to watch something they clearly wouldn't like(like, I have some friends I talk to about the game Stray, but I would never recommend to specific other people, because I know they would not like it; just because I like it does not mean I should trample on their previous dislikes for my own satisfaction). I replied to everyone pretty much the same day at like midnight, I just really don't understand recommending something to someone who has already indicated their likes and dislikes and personal situations [ex: I watched her new reaction to this only after seeing it show up on YT. Idk who recommended this show back when she first did it, but it pisses me off to even see she had done it way back then because of what she was going through; idk what insensitive prick would've recommended this at that time, but that's a mind boggling thing to me. I also don't like that she ever did Subnautica, even if it was seemingly only a few minutes, why on Earth would people recommend an aquatic survival game to someone with thalassaphobia] Anyway, as I said, I'm a chronic over explainer, but hopefully I got my point across. I just don't think it makes sense to make her watch something that she, more likely than not, won't like; or at the very least, she'll go in expecting something way worse than what actually happens and will easily handle any disappointments, and be pleasantly surprised by other things instead, if her expectations were already tempered. Edit: Also, I don't think the movie is "bad" or "sucks" just because it was upsetting. It was an objectively good movie, it's not widely liked for other reasons that shall not be disclosed(bc spoilers); disliking something doesn't mean it's badly done(same applies in reverse, something being liked doesn't mean it has to be a masterpiece) it just means it isn't liked. There are plenty of reactors I watch that I'm sure would love the show along with the movies, but there are also a few that I watch that I know would not like the show, as well as others who would like the show and wouldn't like that one movie. It varies per person, and Alicia moreso fits in the latter category.

mitchhamilton64

the second one doesnt ruin the whole show. dont be dramatic.

Pierce Trent

Aint that deep dude, movie continues the story, havent finished the story without movie. Doesen't matter wether you like it or not. Gotta give people the oppurtunity to decide for themselves, and if just the idea of someone else watching media and not liking it makes you that pissed then you have a problem.

David

That’s also untrue, just a few very loud people were speaking about that, the reviews just show how much people loved the movie, am I gonna hate on someone just because the extremely loud minority hates on them too and the majority who actually enjoyed it just stay silent because we’re not just some frustrated kids who need to open their mouths every time they don’t like something? Let me give you a rather surprising example that you just gave me by commenting so much here, you and some other recurring person went on a rampage answering under every different comment from different people asking her to react to the movie that it makes someone who doesn’t look at the names feel like there are a lot of people who actually don’t like the movie, when in reality it’s just you and one other person voicing you petty frustration because you didn’t like the movie, you’re part of the problem, you are a loud minority so loud that you actually search for every comment praising the movie just to answer and say how bad the movie is while only voicing your subjective point of view and never giving an actual objective perspective about what the movie really is, there aren’t many people who didn’t like the movie, it’s just always the same recurring people talking bad about the movie

Shay

It isn't people not liking it in general that pisses me off, it's people recommending something *knowing* they won't like it just because *they* like it that pisses me off. I don't like seeing people emotionally suffer for no reason, it seems selfish to do. I prefer reactors to actually enjoy themselves, sue me🤷🏽‍♀️

Cyber

i mean, i get it, and i'm sorry if i sounded harsh in one of my comments too, and I'm glad the mod did some cleaning of that back and forth (thanks mod, sorry about the extra work, truly  ) . But my point was "let people experience franchises themselves and make their own opinions of it, and provide answers/opinions AFTER they've already had a chance to formulate their own thoughts unbiased by others." :)

Ciel Wattson

Alright just a few things, One: I've never once disrespected anyone who said they like the movie so I'd appreciate you not attacking me or the other guy personally Second: The objective reason is the ending and for me personally is that feeling of betrayal of the series, and yes, subjectively it creeps me tf out to have the 30-something being romantically involved with the child he took in, regressing her learning independence from Gilbert, if you enjoy the movie, good for you, nothing wrong with that, honestly I was just saying because the movie genuinely just ruined the rest of the series for me, if Alicia watches it? Awesome, more revenue for her. Anyways main point is, I didn't disrespect anyone for enjoying the movie, so I'd appreciate you maintaining the same level of civility.

Zolfried

please watch the movies too

Cameron Lin

There's actually two more after this. An hour and a half long OVA, and the movie. PLZ watch both.

Virtuous_Wanderer

I am fairly certain that they said they binged the first like 7 or so episodes anyway so, unless you go a time machine Mitch...

Virtuous_Wanderer

Violet Evergarden as a series is, for lack of a better word, an emotional kick in the nuts, and I don't know a SINGLE person who would take the repetitive emotional nut kicking for anything. Even my mom who doesn't like anime at ALL still sat down, watched the whole thing, and asked me if there was more.
