Understandable that you didn't know the pirate from Loki's brief flashback, he hasn't been mentioned in detail since episode 958. Sengoku explained that Big Mom, Kaido, and Whitebeard were all members of the Rocks Pirates before they formed their own crews. So the pirate Loki looked up to was probably their captain at the time, Rocks. Sengoku also explained that Rocks was taken down by the tag-team of Garp and Roger on the island of God Valley, ~40 years before present-day in One Piece.

The person with Whitebeard was his captain, aka Rocks D Xebec, the dude who is known for being the pirate rival to Gold D Roger

I totally forgot about the kuma flashback appearance. I only remembered that one convocation where they mentioned that whitebeard, Big Mom, and Kaido used to be part of a crew togeather with said person, as the only context clue to figure out the shadow.
