That was a weird episode. it seems like Gideon writing a letter to explain why he might retire or something and imply that he made mistakes etc.... So I was convinced the episode was about gideon being wrong but he was right and actually didn't really made mistakes. They couldn't convict tubbs but it wasn't about profiling mistakes or anything just a lack of evidence because it seems tubbs kinda "cover his tracks well" ( I mean in terms of making sure there was no physical proof and resisted gideon legendary ragebaiting ). So i'm a little confused by what this episode was trying to acheive. If I were to make a guess i'd still think season 3 will be about like gideon showing cracks and the team being in danger because while one of the oldest is loosing his footing, the leader is being undermined by superior who wants him gone for no reason.

You're on the right track but it's more about the futility of it. He was right, and in a way that didn't matter in the end. Kinda like Hotch mentions in the season 2 finale, Jason is haunted by his own intellect. He's been doing this for years and even a case as (relatively) small as this going so wrong was just the final straw after the real big dump of...well Frank.

Alicia if she is not informed. This is Gideon Final episode the Actor quit because the Case on the show were getting too disturbing and emotional draining for him. So he quit the show.

I mean, to be fair to JJ, they DID have the guy. They couldn't anticipate someone would use the situation to do a copycat kill, so we can't really blame her or the kids.

I don’t understand why Alicia unpauses the episode when she’s still talking to her cohost about something. Like they go on for like a collective 10 minutes about how it’s unsafe for the school to stay open, but Ant and her talked over them saying why that wouldn’t work! Just keep it paused till the conversation is over! Or roll it back if you speak over the episode while it’s playing.

Season 2 was a season of failure for Gideon. He was the one who got Elle shot, he got Morgan arrested, a close and he failed at catching Frank. He couldn't get with the times and it was just too much for him.

Okay I am at the "Copycat" and I am gonna throw out, I think it is the Den Mother, she loved the control she had when the Killer was free and the chaos that ensued right after enraged her enough to commit the crime in order to gain the control back. If they Believe her note he gets free and she only had to kill once because he will probably kill again in her eyes. Just my thoughts. Seasons 3 and 4 are my favorite seasons to just turn on and let run in the background. I know both seasons like the back of my hand. These were also the first seasons I watched live as they were airing with my Mama and big sister.
