Gideon’s happy ending speech is one of my favourite endings, because you go in assuming he offed himself and you just get this wave of relief when he drives into the sunset

You can tell by his demeanor as the show went on. I sort of like that the producers incorporated that into the show itself. And then he goes to do Homeland, which I haven't seen

It came back after ending at season 15 I think. The new series is on streaming only so they ended up making it even darker and with swearing.

Wow I was really expecting gideon to be slowly broke by repeating mistakes or stuffs but actually giving him just a happy ending with a new start is quite surprising. I'm not super familiar with crime show (the only three shows I watched with cop or crimes stuff being Dexter, Lucifer and the rookie wich I feel like are not really the same type of crime/cop show) but I didn't expect this genre to give a sweet send off to their character like that.

I like Gideon, I think rewatching this with you guys has actually made me like him more - your appreciation of a good character is infectious - But I do think you'll enjoy what (who) comes next I love the intro and the very different type of character they bring.

So it's never confirmed whether Haley was cheating on Hotch. A lot of fans theorize that she was but I like to think she wasn't. More than likely it was someone else calling. Most likely an attorney considering how fast she left. And it was a brain tumor that the dad had. I like to think one of the reasons that Gideon didn't kill himself is because he knew Reid would be the one to come looking for him. Also I love the reactions to Strauss. She really does get to you early on, but I think she gets better.

the writers wanted to have gidion kill himself but the actor said no to that so they wrote this instead. i really like this one more.

Gideons actor (Mandy Patinkin) left the show because the violent and dark subject matter got to be too much. I honestly don't blame him, and am glad that his character got a, relatively happy, ending.

It's really fitting how they had Gideon's character exit the way he did in the face of the way Patinkin was feeling IRL. Just goes to show how well this show was written in the face of how dark it was.

i like that they managed to give him an out that made sense. And it actually added to the show. Yes gideon was important, but 2 seasons with him and then him leaving forcing the others and especially reid to grow was nice

i started watching this show because of you guys watching season 1. I binged that and then watched the rest by myself. Im in season 10 now and i can promise you it only gets better. The cases stay cool and the personal journeys for the team are great. Season 8 and 9 are probably my favorites. I.. ofc itd take years for you guys to get there at this speed. Im just saying there is definitely much more good stuff ahead (in seasons 3/4/5/6/7 too ofc)

I think you're going to love Gideon's replacement. Every time I rewatch the early seasons I remember how much I loved Gideon, but I keep forgetting that because the new person is one of my faves and it feels like they've been part of the team forever.

I always thought it was a divorce attorney! It would have really taken from her character if the writers did confirm that she ever did cheated.

I still don't see the wife's side in things. She doesn't work or anything, she's a stay-at-home mother and her husband and presumably the man she loves is absent, so she makes him even more absent? She wants Hotch to be more involved in their son's life, so she takes the son away from him? I'm not a family/relationship person, so it's definitely a me thing
