A dress made of asbestos!? That's not exactly healthy XD... but probably they don't know it. 15:15 it kind of makes you think about the role played by superstition back then, it is now played by disinformation now. Internet and social networks, unfortunately, are now its medium.

The reason Asbestos became as popular as it was was because of its fibrous properties. It was very common to use asbestos clothing in jobs where was either involved directly or where fire was a unique hazard. Jackets and pants, for instance. Miners, blacksmiths, glass blowers, many trades like that used them quite frequently. It’s also naturally occurring and there are several locations to find it as part of the ground and just break off pieces of it just like that. Very easy to mine for too. It was only after asbestos’s use in clothing that it became used for things like paint and insulation. Both of those uses also came about because of its properties that make it resistant to fire. Later on during the late 1900’s or so we discovered how brittle and hazardous the tiny specks of it could be to the human body if the fibers were to break off and become airborne.

The thing to take away from this episode is if Maomao wasn’t already a successful apothecary, she could have made one hell of a saleswoman. As far as the lullaby, that is the same one that Fengxian is always singing.

Vincent Price

the name of this episode, Fire Rat Cloak.

I looked it up after I watched this episode the first time. It did indeed start out as an edible historically.
