Watch the movie XD Yeah, villains taht are simply evil for the sake f evil tend to be boring... But if you take them to the absolute extremes, and make them incredibly flamboyant and entertaining, being incredibly extra at everything they do, you get Dio, one of the most fun villains in human history XD.

Just when you think you're at the apex of a dark or light moment, they just go above and beyond expectations to the point where it more so parodies and jabs at tropes like the "dark villian" and "pure hero." Going waaaay overboard (in the medium of anime which itself goes over the top) is what gives JoJo it's unqiue style, it's always trying to up the ante just because it can.

Also yeah Dio is all kinds of fucked up but goddamn if he isn't going to be the most flamboyant mother fucker about it.

Man the references where just like a "Oh cool" thing for me, never seen someone react so strongly to them before xD Honestly I love that Dio is pure evil. Like 99% of villains in anime, when they attempt to portray them as having a reason, it's just petty shit like "My past was bad so I'm bad" as if that's a reasonable reason to ruin other peoples lives. Dio? Nah, the man just doesn't give a shit about anything except himself. He's meant to be selfish and petty - I love it! Plus it just fits the show. He's evil, Joestar is good - lets go with our muscle men! Thanks for reacting to Jojo! Great work as always :D

It's interesting to me that what we've got here is like based in 19th century pulp adventure reflected by this Japanese author setting the story in England, then it gets localized to English and they hilariously use centimetres for height instead of the totally whack Imperial system
