I assume it was intentional but at the beginning when Hughie is watching the broadcast on his phone, Homelander and Starlight don't even finish their sentences before the quote pops up, which is such a good detail proving every little thing is scripted.

Most of the filming for s2 was done in 2019, so while it released late 2020 most of the footage pre-dates the COVID outbreak. At least that is what I read on Wikipedia, so it has a 25% chance of being right.

Fun fact about Stan Edgar. As has been established, Homelander can hear heartbeats and even use smell to know what hormones a person is producing, such as endorphins like adrenalin. With all that, it is functionally impossible to lie to him or hide what you are feeling. When Edgar shows no fear in front of Homelander, it is genuine and complete. That is what intimidates him most of all.

That wasn't her baby at the hospital. They just followed the trail there and discovered that Vought was giving hundreds of babies all over the country Compound V to make Supers. Teddy wasn't a super. I think what is essential is Butcher's intent. He didn't expect Homelander to save him or Teddy. So Butcher was entirely on board with killing not only himself but an innocent baby.

Stan Edgar in the TV show is a lot like Stillwell in the comics. They don't really do the whole mommy thing in the comics, instead one James Stillwell is in charge of the Seven and he's got them all cowering in fear, especially Homelander. The whole "you're not our greatest asset" thing is basically straight from the comic book.

My theory about the Fresca thing is that its a manipulation technique called the "foot in the door." Its where you get someone to say yes to something small and meaningless but that primes them to say yes to bigger things. Car sales people use it by offering you water or a snack.

This is my first rewatch of the series, and they hint at so many things just this episode. SPOILERS FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT YET!
