I honestly think this is the best show of the decade just from the 13 episodes released so far. Every single thing about this anime i like. Not a single nitpick i can find! Every episode is a 10/10 banger. This had never happened to me before. I do not think I have watched a better anime in my life...Not even a decade really...

since when are elves super emotional? usually they're portrayed as distant and detached specifically because they live on a different scale of time, and being more attached to nature and stuff, i thought. at least all the ones i can think of. :o

A small tidbit of just how quickly time passes is that Frieren returned to the exact shop that she went to at the beginning of the flash-forward. Dude's an old man and we just saw him like 20 seconds ago. I love that they really try to capture just how insignificant time is for elves compared to humans

After finishing the first season and seeing Frieren hold that ring. Oof. Yeouch. But it's kinda why rewatching a show like this can be so good. There is so much stuff sprinkled throughout, that later is given context.

Super kinda late for the party, but the reason frieren act cold is because is supposed to represent people from the autistic spectre, so basically is an autistic elf, which is why, even being an elf, has problems understanding emotions and showimg them, thats why in the church she 'realized' something (when seems like she was about to say something) and was that it 'was supposed to be sad for the dead of himmel' then she started processing that Is basically an anime about duel and grief on people who dont process 'death' the same way neurotypical people does, so basically frieren is an autistic elf, who can overfocus on stuff so is the best at that but also lack social skills and lack of showing or understanding empathy so is really bad at it

I really wish Alicia would give Dub more of a chance for her Anime watches. Because I truly believe the Dub version of this anime specifically (and honestly a lot of her other anime reactions like AOT for example) is beyond incredible and would serve a non Japanese speaker better during subtle tone changes in dialogue. It's the constant uphill battle us dub watchers have to deal with I guess.. Otherwise, I can't wait to watch all of this show again with her.

I love how Frieren is basically Alicia's low-energy, albino twin. Same level of snark but with a deadpan delivery. Hits all the serotonin receptors. Gonna binge these reacts in prep for season 2.
