The reason Alphonse acts out of breath is simple: instinct. Being out of breath is something you become accustomed to, so you expect it. Thats why Al sounds like he's breathing, when he doesn't need to. It's similar to how you'll see streamers say "Ow" when their character gets hurt, even though they themselves are fine.

While the OP and ED do have some spoilers, I would recommend watching the ED on episode 45 as it's a version unique to that episode with no spoilers.

its probably not that deep about Al breathing deep but it just occured to me that would be neat if it turned out Al has phantom feelings like for his limbs that ain't there if that's even possible, like breathing hard is more of a habit than anything else :p but it is funny that Al says 'i dont need to breath' BIG BREATH 'but anyway...' lol

I'm not sure why some people are so adamant that you not watch these openings/endings. it's true that plenty of anime openly spoil things in them, but fmab is really more like jojo where there is plenty of imagery and spoilers, but you really won't pick up on them until it's too late for it to spoil anything, unless you were to really spend time and study it maybe (like, you've seen the first op, but i doubt you picked up on those spoilers for things that have yet to even happen. subtle stuff heh. there are definitely bits i still havent picked up on myself and ive seen them a lot of times). you know, like the little bit with pride for example. you mention envy's body, but it had actually already been fully revealed by then. there is the fact that you see the briggs soldiers before they are introduced, so i suppose i can understand holding off not to see them. idk. that being said, next few episodes are truly amazing and im very excited for you to see them

1 bad apple ruin the bunch. police reform is possible. It will require holding police to a higher standard making sure they work for the people, not the lore and punishing them when they don't live up to this new standard. Most importantly you need to remove the bad apples be for that ruin more bunches

There are many cases of police using excessive force, but you also can't assume that is always the case. If you look at all the cases where people got angry at the police for excessive force, a bunch of them were actually justified. The police have the same rights to self defense as everyone else and the moment they believe their life is in danger they are authorized to use lethal force. There is also the fact that people aren't trained on how to behave when they are being arrested or detained by the police, and the police are trained to respond quickly to things they perceive as a threat. Most cases where an unarmed person is shot it is because they did things that made the police believe they were about to attack or that they were reaching for a gun. When people talk about police reform I have no idea what they expect that to be. They could probably do better background checks to find out if they have a history of anger issues or if they have any prejudices against any group of people. Other than that I have no idea what else could be done.

I hate it when dumb Youtube commenters get reactors paranoid about the opening and ending. There is literally nothing in the opening or ending that is a spoiler because everything shown in it had either been already revealed or was much too vague for a first time watcher to have gotten anything from it. And then the ending had absolutely nothing that could even remotely be considered a spoiler. And as for the new OP and ED that got skipped, the OP hints at some future fights, but it also shows a ton of fights that don't actually happen, so you can't tell which ones are real and which ones are misdirects as a first time viewer. And then the 4th ED is the best one of them all and is completely innocuous. The openings and endings of this show are absolute fire, and I hate that dumb Youtube commentors made you miss out on such a big part of the experience.

The Al being out of breath thing, I would say is because he thinks he should be. Thats commonly the explanation for why characters who used to be human still have human limitations. Its just what their mind expects.

ok, envys form was revealed in episode 25 i believe, and the op switched on episode 27 so i think, not 100% on this, that the op didn't spoil his form, i get it you probably don't remember the exact time so it seems that it was a spoiler and you avoided it except it was after the reveal just like in op 2 with bradly, all in all the rest was not much of a spoiler i believe, unless im wrong on when envys true form was reveiled but based on going back just to make sure i believe it was 1 or 2 episodes before the switch of the op Edit: ok, i googled it, for some reason ai answer thinks it was episode 43 which we didn't even reach yet since this is episode 39, but the actual answer is episode 25, its even titled true form, its when envy and ed are in the false portal in gluttony and he says that there is no reason to hide it, which is 2 episodes before the opening changed to show it too, just had to check
