Envy is pretty much Internet Troll: Seems large and Hides own face with faces of others. When confronted is shown to be little, sad person who wants to ruin others lifes, because said Troll is jealous of what others have, but cannot be happy with what they have already.

Envys death is peak. There isn´t really much I can say about that and Roys lust for vengeance that haven´t been said and written by much smarter people. So I am going to talk about another moment. The moment that truly made it click for me, how strongly FMAB actually respects its minor characters and its background characters, was when the Central Forces not only team up with Olivia to fight Sloth and the immortals, but actually helps out. Instead of them just acting like common mooks who rushed into getting slaughter. They acted like people, and the show treated them like people. That and I just have a really soft spot for when Main Characters team up with the villains minions (Even if said villainous minions don´t know they are villainous minions). Finally, I will just confess my deep and unabiding love for Alex Louis Armstrong. He is just a great character, with a bunch of depth, whom it would have been all too easy to just make a purely comic relief character.

I was so sad you skipped the last scene on this one, that pause was at the perfect spot to make it seem like it was over

Loving these binges, I am really looking forward to the rest!

There is a unique ending on this episode that you definitely have to go back and watch, since it is important to the flow of the show. Also, I have watched this show so many times and just notice that Roy flexes his hand the same way as scar before trying to finish off Envy.

Okoga

As others are saying, there is a post credit scene.

Watching Envy here, you really can begin to understand what it means to grow as a human. He wants them to be spiteful, petty and hold onto grudges yet they are all ready to move onward.

And so the ironic ends to the homunculi continue. Lust died at the hands of a man protecting his (non-sexual) love, Gluttony was eaten, and Envy died when someone finally acknowledged them and showed them understanding and empathy and recognizing each other as equals.

We got to see Envy get all up in their Philosophussy AND Sloths absolutely ludicrous amount of CAKE in this episode.

This episode is so great. I love how, when Roy says he'll leave as little trace as he can, he doesn't mean the alchemy secrets ('cause there's a big portion still there in the present day), he means of the scarring. He knows the secrets, so of course he knows which portion of the alchemy is most important to destroy. And we've seen his INSANE precision with fire, he probably was just as skilled after Ishval, so he could try and minimize how much he burned her, while still technically doing what she asked of him. Still though, she's the last person he'd want to hurt, so that must've been another trauma piled on after trauma. And the confrontation with Envy hits so hard, especially the way Roy can't bear to lose Riza. Everything else he could endure for his revenge, but not that.

So while this show has multiple post credit scenes it also has several scenes that play out during the credits you literally stopped it as it was about to begin then checked for a post credit scene there's maybe one or two more that do this one which is just kinda a unique ending that's very fitting with the context of the episode

MrBogThing

you can get the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Bloopers on YouTube, some fun for when you are done with the main show

BakaSama

This episode really hammered home how insanely good the character writing for this series really is. I remember this series being good, but I had forgotten how top tier the writing is to the point I’m reevaluating my top favorite anime list.

Damn I thought the binge drop meant FMAB binge drop lol we're so close, so much great shit still coming

BigKez0

Still can't wait for the best scene

KaijinGarou

I actually disagree with Ed and Riza here. This is a guy who's been mass murdering innocents in Ishval for years and is still a fully functional person trying to do the right thing. You think killing a piece of crap like Envy will put him on the wrong path? The man's been waiting the whole show to avenge his buddy, let him kill that bastard! xD

KaijinGarou

*Envy hurt itself in its jealousy*

Daisy Azuras

I absolutely love how this anime portrays its female characters. It doesn’t talk down to them, or make them any less bad ass than their male counterparts.

Yahroh

Envy is trash but gawd damn. I remeber going into the fight like "get em" and then the break down made me feel bad about it lol

Easy Mode - A.I

chekov's gun.... not everyone knows of it.
