I know all these overlords look down on Charlie for being a bleeding heart, and Angel was genuinely afraid that Val would hurt her. The thing is, if he actually came at Charlie and she was forced to defend herself and her people? Val would be absolutely obliterated. And I don’t mean because Alastor is there. But yeah, that was hard to watch.

Love AD so much and this episode got me to tears hearing why he is so self destructive. Really glad him and Husk get along now they both need it also loved that song and need more songs from Husk now, and loved to learn Husk is a former Overlord.

I think Husker might be my favourite character. Aside from his gorgeous voice - the fact that he was an Overlord, literally as high as a Sinner can go, before falling to a literal Husk of his former self - a slave who sold his soul to Alastor seemingly to retain a tiny fraction of his power. Also his being a gambler and his demonic magic using cards and dice is just a very fun theme.

I really really wanna see Charlie go all out at some point in the series. She is the daughter of literal Lucifer, the king of hell. She is actually really strong, I swore I heard Vivzie say Charlie could destroy Alistor in an actual fight, so if that’s the case she could easily destroy Valentino. If Angel wouldn’t have stopped her she could have seriously fucked him up, but I’m sure Charlie’s powers and more demonic side will be explored more the deeper we get into the series. Anyways, thank you for this amazing reaction as always. Can’t wait to watch this show with you and hear your thoughts.

God, Angel's song broke me; the lyrics and performance are absolutely perfect. The growing despair at the end is heartwrenching.

I've noticed a lot of people complain about this episode and how Angel is portrayed. But tbh, given what this episode reveals, every ounce of his character makes perfect sense. He's a rape victim who is quite literally a slave to his rapist. And worse than that, he is a sex worker who is forced to undergo what appears to almost exclusively be rape play/rape-play-bondage. Meaning he is CONSTANTLY retraumatized. Every time he works. His inability to respect boundaries, his over sexualized behavior, his anger at being called out on the act he HAS to wear lest he be put under more pain, all of it makes perfect sense. Especially when you factor in that he's in hell, a place where the only people thus far who've given enough of a shit to even try to OFFER even the SMALLEST HINT of help have been the people in the hotel. So no one to save him, barely any support structure, constantly retraumatized, a slave to his rapist, and no feasible way out. I really don't get why people complain about his character. He is EXACTLY what a rape victim in his circumstances would be like.

She's a great person and incredibly smart, but she will get focused on a single option and just not see any of the dozen other options that might work better. It's one of the reasons I love Charlie and Vaggie's dynamic - it really reminds me of my wife and I. Except I'm the one who tends to break into song unprompted while it's her telling me to stop.
