yooo Noland's story. To this day it's still one of my favorite sections in One Piece

Shandias: Chief! The warriors have yet to return! Chief: Don't worry about them, they are not children. Aisa's mother: What about Aisa!? She is also missing and she IS a child... Chief: Don't worry about her, she is a BRIGHT child. ... Everybody: you are just going to repeat that to anything we say, aren't you? Chief: Bitches, I don't even have a NAME ffs... I just want to retire and live in peace...

This is the only arc I flat out stopped watching at points cause I got bored of the best characters not being there or even being conscious. Not even the second worst filler arc got me to stop cause I was watching One Piece for the full experience good and bad.... I skipped the worst filler arc though because it had a trope I despise.

Robin tried telling Luffy to wait but he just decided to keep running up and ignored her.

I already mentioned it in a reply below, but if the pacing bothers you, which i can totally understand, I'd recommend looking into a fan project called the "One Piece Manga Cut". One of the biggest problems of the anime is that it has a lot of dead air, that's really just there to stretch out the run time, so the anime won't catch up with the manga and run out of material to adapt. This can unfortunately really inpact your viewing experience for the worse, especially if you watch a bunch of episodes at once. This is where the manga cut comes in. It's a fan edit that aims to cut out all the dead air (all the repeat scenes, constant recaps and long winded previews for the next episode), to give you a more streamline and enjoyable viewing experience that's 1:1 to the manga. Now, the fan edit isn't up to date unfortunately (it's currently a full arc behind), but that's still several hundred episodes ahead of where you are right now. I don't know how you feel about using a fan edit over the original release, but since one piece stopped using filler eventually, that issue will only get worse with time, since now they have to rely on those tactics instead of having fillers to buffer time, and while one piece is completely worth sticking it out, I just wanted you to know that there is a better alternative, if you're interested. Edit: unfortunately have to correct myself. just looked into it and realised that the one piece manga cut in particular only starts adapting way, way, way later material. though while that particular project won't work out then unfortunately, there are other fan edits. unfortunately i can't name any of the top of my head, but they are out there, if you're willing to look into it.

You can't use mantra when you're distressed, Sasori lost his mantra when he got caught because he was freaking out

Narluga

hey man no hate here but if your gonna watch one piece you gotta deal with them replaying flash backs hundreds of times, same environment scenes and if you look for it, you can notice that they linger on punches and some scences for a bit to long XD

Haha sorry alicia, but about the lighting scene yo talkin out out yor ass on that one! They did not reuse a scene from Loguetown haha I did an edit from that part recently so it's fresh as hell in my memory and tho there is a similar shot of the sky, the lighting itself and the clouds are pretty different. Don't worry they will start reusing scenes like hell as time goes on, the timing of the newers arcs is horrible!

The sad thing is that Skypiea is often a beloved arc by manga readers and disliked by anime watchers. But if you have issues now you should absolutely watch the next canon arc (207 - 228) in the One Pace version. It won't save the messages that the manga wants to send (they are gone or even wronged in the anime) but at least it will cut the suffering to half the run time. I think after this arc Oda stormed Toei – because the next arc has a really good adaptation.

Everyone is a total gigachad in every backstory

Thank you for the binge

Sorry Alicia but that lightning is not at all what they used in loguetown, I understand that you’re not loving one piece right now bc it can definitely get a bit repetitive (and kinda boring when the strawhats aren’t in the picture) but the constant complaining about small stuff is bumming me out 😭😭 (btw the townspeople did get hit by lightning but u were busy talking about the “loguetown lightning” lol)

Yeeeeah. They absolutely butchered the pacing for Skypeia in the anime, to be sure. That's just FACT. No-name characters (as well as named characters who we are given no reason to have any stake in, such as Wyper) are given waaaaay too much time, which detracts from the bits of *good* writing given to characters like Conis, Aisa, and Gan Fall by diluting the hell out of everything. Filler dilutes the contents of a story, and it's the anime's greatest crime. Luckily, no arc does this worse than Skypeia. There are absolutely some long arcs later that have a serious chunk of filler, even beyond that, but none are *worse*, at least-- most end up being things that are eminently skippable, like start-of-episode recap, at least. Which is still *annoying*, but at least *watchable*. Plus, there tend to at least be interesting things going on, in later arcs-- most only get about as bad as Alabasta (if excluding Alabasta's filler), where there's *some* sense of "this took so much time," but there's at least interesting stuff good character focus going on for most of the while. Hang in there! You've only got 8 episodes left until this arc is over and done with! Then there's the EXTREMELY fun and VERY short G-8 arc (anime only, but veeeeery fun character focus that makes it an all-but-unanimous MUST WATCH), and then... the very goofy and eminently skippable Long Ring Long Land arc that, while manga canon, is absolutely a filler arc, and suuuuper skippable (but totally fine if you're up for a silly arc). Aaand after that, we get to start in on arguably the best part of One Piece. The hype is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeal!! So, you're through the worst of it! Glad to see you're still having fun with One Piece, despite how frustrating the pacing was for Skypeia-- it's unfortunately VERY common to see people dropping OP during this arc, for exactly the same reasons as you've stated (albeit few have your level of media literacy to understand *why* skypeia feels so sloooooooooooooooow). But yeah. The criticism is ABSOLUTELY deserved. Toei REALLY dropped the ball when it comes to pacing, which is why massive fan projects like "One Pace," which more or less aims to cut out all the filler, have become such a big deal-- and also why the remake anime is so hyyyyyyyyype!

Damn, Noland! (I am the storm that is aproaching)

i know she's currently way into the future but as she pointed out yet how Robin never calls anyone by their name?
