Hey, let’s shake things up over here. You’ve written a range of characters, both realistic and more obscure. Are there any particular fantasy characters you’re still considering writing a story about, like mermaids or vampires, for example? Separate question: Which folklores and/or mythologies are you interested in the most from a potential storytelling point of view (The last point is a bit broad, so to narrow it down a bit I would say the the group of folklores and/or mythologies you most what to explore in the distant future. So, for random examples, Japanese folklore or Greek mythology)?
I’m a massive history buff, so I’d love to do more in that vein. I’ve got a story based in Aztec culture prior to the arrival of Cortez that’s been in my head for ages now, as well as an ancient Greek story.
Writing more with Japanese folklore would also be great as transformations appear everywhere in those stories.
Potentially working with something involving Babayaga would also be fun. Monster girls are always very interesting to write as 90% of what I end up doing is based in the modern day.
That’s cool to hear. I don’t know much about Aztec culture, so that could be interesting to read about.
Greek and Roman stories are always generally fun to learn about. I think you have done something with Zeus already if I’m not mistaken.
Japanese folklore is very rich. I’m a fan of the From Mangaka to Maid story that you did.
Babayaga appears to be referenced in one form of media or literature. So your take as to whether she would be more a wicked figure or good figure would be intriguing.
I don’t know when you say monster girls this is in reference to my example of vampire and mermaids (sirens), but yeah, I would tend to agree to extent. This is because I really have a specific taste for what I like to read. But I like to change things from time to time.
So, monster girls fit that mould.
Basically anything that’s not set in “modern” times I am quite interested to do. Even some stuff set in the 60s and 50s could be fun.
Ive got a draft for a story in which a man dies and gets the chance to live his life again from the begining in 1950, but this time around he’s a woman. It’s only a few thousand words long so far but it’s been sitting in the “to write when I find a spare second” file, along with (I kid you not) 12 other stories of varying levels of completion.
Haha, I feel like 50s and 60s could technically be considered “modern,” but I think i get you.
There are specific cultures and aesthetics that are associated with specific time frames in history that one can draw inspiration from that come with their own myths and folklore. I’m far from a history buff, but I’m personally drawn more towards the fashion and music influences of the 20s and 30s.
It’s incredible that you have so many ideas. I can’t imagine what those 12 other stories would be about. Hopefully, they will see the light of day one day.
They will eventually! A lot of them need workshoping though.

So many stories locked to me even at the $15 tier. Why is that?

Again, at the $15 tier and stories still say locked to me. When I try to upgrade, nothing happens.
Is it because I’m usually on an iPad as opposed to a laptop or desktop?
Which stories are you having trouble with? I find that if I go in and just refresh them, it kicked Patreon in line
Generally, the multiple part ones in most of the collections.
I’ll try refreshing again but that hasn’t worked so far.
Plus I’ve upgraded from the $8 Exclusive tier to the $15 Premium tier twice and been charged and keep getting kicked back to the $8 Tier and asked to upgrade.

Nah, I totally get it. I think it’s a Patreon issue. I’ll go through as many pages as I can in the multiple-chapter stories and refresh them to see if that helps. In the meantime if there is a particular story you’re after I am happy to email you the chapters you want
Okay I have just gone back through my library and refreshed ever Premium tier story manually. Hopefully it will kick Patreon back into gear. If you have this issue again don;t hesitate to tel me and I will get on contact with somebody to fix it and manually email you any content you are owed
Is there going to be more episodes to Adapted Anonymous? It feels like the story is unfinished at Chapter 6.
There is! I just have major writer’s block with it :/ I have chapters 7 and 8 mapped out and a few scattered parts written but I am not happy with them yet. I’d rather take my time with them rather than just writing something unsatisfying
