It's time for another joint adventure with Dan & Kay. This year's advent calendar is based at the historic village of Coneysthorpe. Today we head out into the village for an explore. We find the chapel and the village hall then we head off to the local farm shop to buy some festive treats.

Can't wait for the taste test! The village looks a lovely place to stay.

The cottages were noticeably utilitarian compared to the grandeur of Castle Howard but I loved the way the York stone had weathered from its honey colour. Thanks for that; it cheered up a dull (weather) Tuesday morning xx

I've been looking forward to seeing around this little village and that was so lovely 🏠🎄🏠🏠 Such a charming little village... ! Can't wait for taste test day! ✨ PS Kay the Bargello looks gorgeous on you! And the colour suits you beautifully and is so lovely and festive ! 🎄🧶

There is a picture on Flickr of the unusual building that you were discussing. It is listed as the Castle Howard estate yard, Coneysthorpe. Not sure how to verify this though.

I had to look up the big stone farm-like buildings and from what I found they are/were the Estate Yard Sawmill and Engine House. I loved following your walk on the map! Also, I also love a nice swing! I may have grown in age and dimensions, but I'm just as enthusiastic about them as I was when young. :D

Ohmygoodness what a lovely walk, and visit🫶🍻 I'm now craving a beer, and a spread of the treats you shared! I hope you're enjoying your entire day!

Kay, you should try yoga. I had back and knee issues. My doctor suggested yoga and I have been practicing for the last 4 years. I do 20 minutes every morning and feel great.

My husband calls American pickle relish “pickalilly” and I’d never heard anyone else use that term besides his mom. So fun to hear it in this episode, can’t wait to find out exactly what it is during the taste test.

I just love a walk around the area, so many wonderful buildings to see and all so beautiful. Thank you!

I loved that lovely walk!! I'd like to think they do something with that old post office! They could dress it up inside with past pictures of the area, and postal bits!

Marlette Clark

What a lovely video! I enjoyed every minute of it.

Sandra Smith

What a lovely village. I would love to sample the treats you bought, especially the beer.

Lindsey-Brooke

I loved walking along with you through the charming village, trying to visualize life there hundreds of years ago Looking forward to the taste testing - I love a good chutney, but with a dark stout

Wanda Olson

Quaint little village…. I’ll drink the beer with you Kay!!

The VR post boxes are more rare as they have been replaced. I've not seen a criii postbox yet but I have my eyes peeled! I love a GR postbox too

Michelle

Lovely village, and whole series. I highly encourage Kay to go on the swings! On camera or off; embrace the things that bring joy 😊
