Good morning everyone and welcome back to 'The Bakery Bears Advent Calendar 2024'

Today we return to our gorgeous 'Christmas Cottage' and Kay waiting for us by the fire. The moment has come to deal with our thumb and finish off our hand. We will of course conclude with more of the wonderful 'Country Christmas' story.

Join Kay this morning as she:

  • Opens ‘Day Nine’ of our ‘Advent Calendar’

  • Welcomes you to the next section of this years knit along and mentions last years ‘Nutcracker Christmas’ https://www.patreon.com/posts/day-1-bakery-93458968

  • Shows you her progress so far & lets you know what we’ll be doing today

  • Shows you how to deal with your thumb and start knitting your hand

  • Talks you through and demonstrates how we finish off our hand and bind off

  • Reads to you the next section of this years ‘Christmas Story’

  • The next section of the pattern is attached to the bottom of this post. If you are uncertain how to download the pattern, this video shows you howhttps://www.patreon.com/posts/how-to-find-and-47907523

Thank you so much for watching and we'll see you tomorrow for an adventure with Dan & Kay!

Merry Christmas everyone!

I can't wait to do the next bit of this lovely mitt and add in my pretty contrast again! Thank you Kay for this pattern. In all my 50 is years of knitting, this will be my first sewn bind off. Always something new to learn.

Gerrie C

Can't wait to knit this section... :) Such cute mitts!! ✨🎄

Sandra Smith

I have been enjoying watching you knit the mitts, I may be the only one who has not started them yet, I have not had time in this busy season. I am also a bit afraid of the folded cuff. I am waiting for the hat pattern.

Lisa K

I did not see that bind off coming, what a surprise! I too will be a first timer on the sewn bind off. Thank you Kay for throwing in a little something different.

I need to frog the whole thumb gusset. I followed Kay’s instructions as an ADHDer and increased the same moving forward ie as round 4 but in every 1st and 4th round. So I gave like 28 sts instead of 18 for each thumb gusset. 🤦‍♀️ Is there a written pattern so I can read along? 🙏 I do not like being a 🐸

Randi Anderson

What a lovely pattern this is! Thank you.

The Bakery Bears

Yes Anne the pattern for each section of the KAL is linked a the bottom of the patreon post. Todays says Day 5 - PDF is attached above

Janekated

enjoying the story and your reading of it, also Dan's input to enrich the experience. I could complete the pattern to a mitt rather than a fingerless glove yes?

Jane Reynolds

I couldn't see the link to the pattern at first but had to go to the Bakery Bears main page and not through the link I got in the mail. Hope that helps.

Anne Shaw

Thank you I did see the link once I got the message above from Kay/Dan I’m all sorted now 🙂

Anne aka TobyKnits

Kay, I am thoroughly enjoying this peaceful knit. Tutorials are great too.
