Jin's depression following the success of Dynamite led him to write Abyss. When they released Be, JK interviewed Jin, which was a month before Jin released Abyss, and it was obvious he was still depressed - Jin said he didn't have an appetite, stopped playing video games, and he just slept all day. The interview was dropped a month before Abyss was released, but there was so much kindness and support from JK, and Jin trying to entertain and make JK laugh even though he wasn't feeling great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sxUG8O6M2w It starts around 9:06. It's only 3-4 minutes long, but I like it a lot.

Oh man. I have the exact opposite reaction when I see a piano in public. I get the sweats and want to run for the hills. Stage fright is definitely a thing. Why did a major in piano performance then? No clue. :)

BTS often writes parts for certain members, then lobbies the production team to make sure that member actually is assigned that part. I remember Suga didn't think enough songs were written for Tae's voice so he wrote several lyrics that only Tae could sing.

Cheryl Lambert

This is such a beautiful song. Thank you John. The black hat and shirt looks great 😊💜💜🤗🇨🇦

Abyss is my favorite favorite. It's the first BTS song I heard and immediately sat down to learn the Korean. Normally I learn just as I listen and after a hundred times or so I can sing along-ish. But Abyss, I needed to be able to sing along with immediately. It's just so beautiful.

Besides Astronaut this is my favorite Jin song!

Jin wrote Abyss with RM, Pdogg and Bumzu. The lyrics are about him experiencing burnout and anxiety.

This is one of my favorites from jin.
