Chapter 110 - The First Exchange (Patreon)

If this Adam was like the canon Adam from the canon of the Lord of the Mysteries, then it would be nigh impossible for him not to be aware of the real situation in the Freehold and the fact that the rumors about the possible impending doom of the Freehold were already spreading with the migration of the Targaryens.
No...
He was genuinely surprised that the rumors had already spread to the Fargrave, as that place was rather too far from the Faerûn, and if the rumors had spread there, it meant that the situation was more severe than both of them anticipated.
Valyrian Freehold was currently the strongest supernatural civilization in the Faerûn, and technically speaking, its existence and strength were needed to protect the world from the Deadric Incuriosn and various other influences that would try to attack the Faerûn.
If the Freehold fell, it would have a grave consequences on the entire Faerûn, and perhaps even beyond the Faerûn.
Something that Valkorion was unaware of, but the Valyrian Freehold was already spread to many Planes of Oblivion and controlled some to a certain degree, which was bringing unprecedented prosperity to the Faerûn as a whole due to the number of resources that were being brought back to the Faerûn.
It wasn't just from the resources found on the Faerûn that the Valyrian Freehold was able to rise where they were and have so many powerful Beyonders and Extraordinary Creatures that they cultivated.
Most of it was attributed to the resources extracted from the different Planes of Oblivion that were rich in Extraordinary Creatures and Ingredients for the Beyonder Potions, Alchemy, rare metals and ores, and practically everything that one could imagine.
Not to mention, the strength of the Valyrian Freehold has been proven to be crucial in several Deadric Invasio initiated by the Prince of Domination or Prince of Destruction or some machinations of some Evil Gods or other entities.
If the Freehold fell, then the strength of the Faerûn to defend itself would be much lower because...
True Gods cannot be everywhere, and when such events were taking place, they were too preoccupied to actually do something.
"Well... I can confirm that this rumor is true, and there is more to it. Though the rest of the information depends on the concept of equivalent exchange."
Valkorion said as he was going to sell his foreknowledge about the Doom of the Valyrian Freehold. It was rather a big bet, but he was certainly believing that the Valyrian Freehold would fall.
Suddenly, he saw that Mephistopheles tapped several times on the bronze table as he was pondering over something.
"Then I want to have a private exchange."
He said that Valkorion manipulated the Grey Fog to create privacy, and only two of them would be able to tell.
"What's your price for the complete information?"
It seemed that he was very interested in buying the information about the Doom of the Valyrian Freehold, which was good because Valkorion could make some profit from it.
"Well... I am in search of something that could serve as a Blood Catalyst for the Beyonder Potion Ingredient; the stronger, the better. And... Compendium for the Warrior Pathway would also welcome."
Valkorion said, because he a few Primary Ingredients for the Sequence 5 Beyonder Potion of the Warrior Pathway from the notes that he recovered at the mansion of the Tenebraenys Family.
As much as incomplete it was, there was still something, yet it wasn't enough, and now, Valkorion saw rather a good opportunity to make up for the difference. The Compendium of Pathway could be summarized as a watered-down version of the Cards of Blasphemy made from the Blasphemy Slate.
They contained information about the specific Pathway, though only of the Sequence 7 to Sequence 3, meaning they were only for the Lower Sequence Beyonders and Mid Seqeunce Beoynders, and from the High Sequence Beoynders, there were only the names of the Sequnces and nothing more.
If Valkorion was able to get his hands on the Warrior Pathway Compendium, it would resolve all the problems till the time when he would need to advance to Sequence 2, but that would be an entirely different situation.
The members of the House Tenebraenys, like the rest of the Dragonlord Families, followed primarily the Pugilist Pathway or the Draconian Pathway, which was some sort of tradition for the Dragonlord Families of the Valyrian Freehold.
This was not only due to the cultural importance, but also because each generation's abilities were more powerful, and bonds with their bonded dragons grew stronger.
"That seems to be doable, but for the catalyst, I need some time to procure the Ingredient as it would take some time, but I can guarantee that it would be of excellent quality. Nothing short of the Heart of the Dremora Valkynaz."
Mephistopheles stated that a small book appeared in front of Valkorion, and they sealed the deal as he didn't have many problems with waiting for him to deliver the Extraordinary Ingredient for the Beyonder Potion.
The Deadra's Hearts were very rare Ingredients in the Faerûn, and because Valkorion had the knowledge of the Lore of the Elder Scrolls, he knew that the Dremoras were somehow high-ranking Deadric Race as compared to other Deadric-affiliated species; they were sentient, had their own civilization and were pretty powerful.
"I accept. Heart of the Dremora Valkynaz is acceptable payment for this piece of information, but the Heart must be from Dremora that is affiliated with the Blood, regardless of the Sequence. Though the Lineage must be pure."
Dremoras consider themselves to be above other Daedra, who are seen as unthinking animals, with the primary exception being the Daedric Princes. They also show a mutual distaste for the mortal races of Faerûn. Despite this, Dremora are a surprisingly frequent sight in certain parts of Faerûn, roaming Daedric ruins and the lairs of conjurers and Daedra worshipers.
The Dremora take pride in their hierarchies. Order is wrested from the chaos of Oblivion through force of will, and the Dremora are nothing if not willful. Rank and order signify glory to the Dremora, as maintaining such things exhibits strength of will.
Their society was a class-based clan system that upheld values of oaths, pride, honor, and loyalty, both to the clan and to the Daedric Lord they served, whom they also worshipped as a God.
Their hierarchy consisted of eight major ranks: Varlet, Churl, Caitiff, Kynval, Kynreeve, Kynmarcher, Markynaz, and Valkynaz. The former four represent the military ranks of lesser soldiers, while the latter four were higher castes of the Dremora society.
"That is not a problem... one of the Valkynaz of the Bloodwraith Clan has been signed in the Fargrave and would provide an opportunity."
Valkorion just nodded as he, in fact, didn't really care about where the source would be; in this aspect, he only cared about the result, which hopefully would satisfy him. Heart of the Dremora Valkynaz was something that was very rare and hard to come by because the Valkynazez were very rare, and the ones that were weak were even rarer.
"Now the deal is done."
Valkorion said as Mephistopheles passed him the Compendium of the Warrior Pathway, but Valkorion didn't really bother to read it right now as he went to tell what he knew to the member of the Congregation of the Kadath.
