Hello Patrons!

I wanted to wait to make the update post until I had filmed my Speedway Junky video. And I DID!!! We're staring down a probably hour-ish long (7,000 word script) breakdown of the best bad movie no one's heard of, Speedway Junky. I'm guessing I'll have it done by early August at the latest. I'm honestly excited to work on it; it's always fun to edit a video on a movie or show you truly love/find funny, because you finally get to share all the funny clips with people. Yayyyyyy!!!!!!!

In other news, I'm actually planning TWO different Patreon-exclusive videos (technically three if I can swing it.) I am finally almost done watching all of How to Get Away With Murder, which I've thought since early on I might want to discuss. A chill, unscripted Patreon ramble sounds more appealing to me than a full main-channel video. But that said, I do want to do a pretty thorough breakdown, even if unscripted. I'm planning to go through the characters, seasons, etc. Concurrently, I'm working on watching every Tiger Shroff movie and reviewing those bit by bit for you guys. Bollywood videos don't seem to do too well on my channel, and I worry about finding the right audience for them, so it just makes sense to me to make that a Patreon-exclusive as well. I've already watched and recorded reviews (also unscripted) of Heropanti (2014) and Baaghi (2016). Currently watching Munna Michael (2017), which is delightful so far.

As for that possible third Patreon video, one of you reminded me a while back that I've completely abandoned that original Lifetime screenplay I was going to write. I'm sorry!!! I recorded much of my brainstorming and outlining like 1.5 years ago (!) and luckily for me, my past self did come up with a very detailed outline and write about 20 pages, so I'm revisiting it now and trying to continue. If I just find a little time every week I'm sure I can get it done. My plan initially was to film the brainstorming process, then do most of the actual writing off-screen, maybe check in halfway through or so, and finally finish filming the video with the finished script, maybe doing a read-through? I'll see what happens! I do really plan to follow through with this project, it's just the timeline that's a little up in the air. I'm working on it when I can. I can tell you it's a cheerleader thriller that features a lot of generational cheerleading trauma.

Thank you for another month of support! Lots of fun stuff coming soon. Brush up on your Speedway Junky knowledge now.

If you finish the Lifetime screenplay, I hope you'll consider doing some kind of live reading! Maybe you could get other YouTubers involved and do a charity stream? I would definitely donate for that 😁

Might I suggest Patrick Serrano of Lifetime Uncorked? Bonus: he actually WAS in a Lifetime movie (Old Flames Never Die).

Maria Ventresca

Ooh, very excited for the bounty of videos to come, especially the Lifetime script!

excited to be hearing about some htgawm content in this year of our lord 2026... maybe time for a rewatch with my fully developed brain?? munna michael name drop.. need to do a tiger film festival in preparation for the video. i was rewatching some of your videos of years past and remember you mentioning at some point that many lifetime movies are descendants of the erotic thriller genre, and since i just watched the hand that rocks the cradle i started thinking about how fun it would be to see you really trace the roots of the genre and how the lifetime movie changes to suit its medium of trash tv! maybe even something about how the erotic thriller comes from noir if you wanted to get deep with it.. but not to suggest anything too involved! i just have loved your videos where you chat about old school movies and how they relate to newer, trashier movies

No I also would be interested in a deeper dive into the history of the Lifetime movie! I think I've thought about it before but maybe been discouraged by the lack of good documented history of the channel itself. Honestly while watching htgawm I started musing about a video on Shondaland's relationship to the old Hollywood melodrama/'women's picture', which still interests me, I'd just have to do a lot of research! Including watching every Shonda show
