It's here!!!! Sorry it's out a little later than predicted. This is honestly one of those videos I've gone back and forth with a lot. I think because the movie is so special to me, I have this insecurity that I haven't done it justice, or that people won't understand what's so bad/funny about it from my description or framing of it.

I also always have this fear when discussing a bad movie that I'm being way too mean to the people behind it, in this case Nickolas Perry. Part of me thinks that bad reviews, and even in-depth dissections are part of the deal when you make a movie and release it to the public, but I can also see the argument that it's somewhat cruel to go after a filmmaker, in this case rather personally at times, for what was probably a very meaningful and emotional work to them. Ummmmm idk perhaps it depends! I don't say any of this to fish for compliments or whatever, these are just the anxieties I get when making a lot of my videos, and I feel the need to tell someone.

I hope you like this one, thanks for your support in making it! Next, I'm going to start working on editing my How to Get Away With Murder ramble I recorded for the Patreon.

My favorite bad movie no one's seen

Has anyone else seen Speedway Junky (1999)? Ever since discovering it, I've felt like I might only have imagined it. Come with me on a thorough deep dive into Nickolas Perry's bizarre little feature debut, chock full of melodrama, gay hustlers, line dancing, waffles... And much more. Have you ever seen Mockbuster? It’s a new documentary about a first time director making a movie for The Asylum. It’s really good! Also they interview Eric Roberts

Ooh I haven't heard of that but it sounds super interesting!

For what it's worth, your honest enjoyment of the movie really shines through! I never get the sense that you're sneering or being mean in your videos. It's more like you've found this fascinating thing, and now you're sharing what's fascinating about it so others can enjoy it too

you don't know how excited i am for htgawm content in this year of our lord 2026! speaking of queer teens looking for any scrap of media tiny baby me was very into this show purely for the gay shipping. imagine watching a shonda rhimes show while rooting for a relationship. bleak.

love the video as always!

I appreciate that! I certainly never set out with bad intentions towards someone (unless there's something more serious they've done wrong that I'm trying to address) but even ribbing about people's movies can be kinda mean regardless. I've tried to be gentler in recent years, and still it's hard to find a balance. I don't like when critics on YouTubers are overly fawning of filmmakers or celebrities and seem afraid to say anything negative (part of why I never found Chris Stuckmann's videos very engaging)

Oh I was very much the same! I think I was in 8th grade when the show first aired and I started watching... I mean by the finale, at least coliver gets out relatively unscathed compared to all the other couples on the show?? But that's not saying much. As I'll discuss in the video, they ended the show together, but I wanted a lot more closure there. And I was personally always rooting for Annalise and Eve endgame, but the show seemed resistant to giving Annalise an 'endgame' with anyone, which is honestly fair and in character. And yet the TV-watcher heart wants what it wants 😔

ted!

watching this video blind right after getting home from a screening of my own private idaho was an absolutely unreal experience
