Great episode!! .. the way keiko eyeballs him at dinner while he plays with his stew is forever etched in my brain haha

Axis 77

Rosalind Chao plays villainess to a tea, so when it's simply a 'is she / isn't she' scenario, the audience has no choice but to be all in... on the wrong side!

Shane Coombs

I'm honestly surprised at how many are giving this an S. That's not intended as a criticism or a disagreement so much as it is just not something I would have expected. This episode never stood out to me and I tend to turn it off if it comes on so while I wouldn't have doubted that some like it more than I did I'm surprised that it is as many as it is.

Nate Perkins

This episode is phenomenal characterization and also kind of terrifying. One of many O'Brien episodes where he isn't having a great time. Episodes from logs also tend to be awesome, so if you see that its a good sign in Trek.

TinMan_7B9

Shhh! Stop Shouting, Stupid! Shady Shapeshifter Still Sleeps! Sneaking Silently Should Soften Sudden Sounds. Smart Solution: Simply Sabotage Station Security, Steal Shuttle, Signal Starfleet, Solve Suspicious Situtation. Success!

Herby Ragan

Love this episode, but I guessed the ending so one grade removed. A SOLID "A"

Fire and Bloodwine

S is a bit much. It's a solid A or B. There will be lots of S's to come.

jon bolton

My favourite of Season 2, S.

Summer

I give this an S though I admit there are outside reasons for it being so good for me, with out those might have been an A or B+ but I adore the Keiko character though I would have done things differently it is always good to see Keiko.

Shatner’s Cigarette

"Tell...Keiko..." Watching Josh and Alex’s reaction to “Whispers” completely re-wired how I see that episode. For over 30 years, It's been sitting respectfully in my A-Tier list. But seeing their genuine shock at the reveal and how emotionally wrecked they were by the ending hit me in a way I didn’t expect. Suddenly, I was feeling it too. That’s when I realized this one deserves the full S-Tier, no question. Moments like that are exactly why I love Target Audience. It’s wild how seeing someone else experience Star Trek for the first time can reignite your own sense of wonder after 40+ years as a Trekkie.

NzingaAuset

It's a respectful B for me but y'alls reaction was S tier. I thoroughly enjoyed watching y'all freak out. I knew you'd love it going in. lol

Scott Bennett

Within the season it's definitely an S. Within the first 3 seasons it's definitely an S. Will it be bettered? Yes. But is it a personal favourite fun one? Absolutely. A great achiefment.

Fire and Bloodwine

It's really great but if this is S then they need to create a new tier for what's to come.

Mikaby

This episode is quite good, but minute-by-minute, I don't think it's as riveting as the very best. So I give it a solid A. You have to be something really special for me to give you an S.

Gavin Hewitt

I for sure would of given this an S tier, first viewing. After viewing the entire series numerous times, it's reduced to a solid A. BUT, really stand out episide of s2

Sam Langanke

Rewatching I wondered why Keiko was such a disliked charakter in big parts of the fanbase. Must be because she is a mom and those fans were boys back then.

Summer

I think DS9 wanted to show family troubles and wrote Keiko not as well as they could, I imagine if Colm had stayed with TNG those writers had plans for Keiko if they got Rosalind enough. It is hard to portray people struggling. You are right though, most just couldn’t understand Keiko.

Mikaby

It's not particularly pleasant watching somebody complain, whether they have just cause to or not. Keiko brings frequent negativity, and since she's a secondary character, of course people are going to tend to see things more from the side of Miles.

We do need to be careful overstating the rating system, S is personal favorites not that any episode can knock it out of position, you love it because you love it, A are just awesome episodes that aren’t favorites and can be important it still shouldn’t be easy for other episodes to change the rating, B and C are good even important but for whatever reason not A or S and other episodes can adjust the ratings. D and E are bad episodes and the rating can easily be changed. But S is the most subjective rating because if its a personal favorites nothing else matters. For example, I love Data’s day and Disaster, I give them S, however there are better episodes and I in my head canon would expand or adhust things about them, they are still an S because nothing impacts favorites the way a C or B might be. Essentially I am saying there is no set number of S’s, A’s, B’s or even E’s, its all in the eye of the viewer. Each episode should be taken on its own merits
