Its not the best is it? Oh well they cant all be gold.

Meanwhile, in Space....

Not a great episode, but I do kind of like that they found a way to make the Enterprise-D immortal right before the series ended.

Going with your discussion theme of all the past holodeck throwbacks, I think what this episode really needed was the Ninja that fought Tasha in "Code of honor" on the Holodeck :)

Patrick Elliott

To be clear, the key thing about the holodeck is that it simulates pretty much anything "exactly", including physics. It kind of has to, given it is used for not just recreation, but accurate simulations. The problem then becomes, "If a real-ish object, which is doing everything, including displacing air, causing real physical collisions, etc., does not cease to exist the literal fraction of a second before it hits a real person, what is the result?" The answer is, "This is precisely why we have safety protocols, which *do* immediately erase such objects, before they can have a real effect on people in the simulation." I.e., its just not likely possible to simply, "Remove the ability to have it hurt people." This woukd be like making an oven safe, by removing the heat.

Hope they will do a re-watch reaction of the Red Letter Media's Star Trek stuff that they had watched in the past.
