It’s not perfect, but it deserves an S for sticking the landing .

Reeturning to the trial with Q was a brilliant choice. If you remember from True Q, when Picard tells what's her name about Q putting them on trial, Q responds "the jury is still out on that Picard. Make no mistake." Looking back, I've always appreciated that line, even if the producers had no idea about what they would do in the finale at that point.

I know you probably don’t care, but Cambridge is in England.

First rule of big finale episodes is to already have it written before the pilot episode, so you can film Farpoint and the the flashback scenes of your finale while your actors look even close to the same. When its 7 year older faces playing season 1 roles over again, it really looks a bit silly and makes it seem as though it was written the week before filming it. Personally I find all of Trek's endless need to show 20th century things to make it familiar to the audience like cars and poker tables was always annoying, we spent the better part of a decade waiting to see anything uniquely 24th century instead.

My second favorite series finale after Six Feet Under.

Drake

at least we have more movies. for evreryone who want more, tng continues as books

Dru Blood

Thanks guys for this. Appreciate you both.

William Willis

I don't know if they were actively referencing it, but in the James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), one of the repeated lines is "we have all the time in the world." When Riker is talking about Troi like that, it made me think of that movie.

Lou Trek

The great thing about All Good Things is that it focused on our favorite 7 plus 2 characters. The plus 2 being Denise Crosby and John de Lancie. Your reaction was perfect in that it is not the greatest of TNG episodes but that it was very good and a fulfilling series finale. It had everything you would want to see in a final installment. Don't despair, there are movies to come and even more when you pass into the "New Trek" dimension. Really enjoyed reliving this series with you both. Keep up the great work.

Watching Alex go crazy when he sees something in the credits will never stop making me laugh my ass off. It's okay though because it's at his expense🤣
