I take what you mean about season 4. I thought it started fine, then dipped in the middle, but came back fairly strong in the last few episodes. And they could have ended the series with season 4 and I would have been fine with that. Having said that, I was less enthused about seasons 5 and 6, so Bridge Crew, do what you will, but if I had a vote, it would be to move on.

Btw, I agree 100% with you about the whole Marco character thing. He and his whole story ruined this series for me.

I appreciate how much content you post even with the break between Star Trek series. In shareholder terms, I'm getting excellent return on my invested capital. So, I'm not Bridge Crew and I'm hopelessly biased, but I hope you finish out The Expanse. Some really consequential stuff happens in season 5 that's worth seeing. And then season 6 got truncated, so they had to finish the series in six episodes. That season flies by, but it's a lot of fun.

It would be a crying shame to end it here. And let's face it - it would be painful for both the guys and viewers to have to deal with the guys finally finishing this series in who knows how many more years, with way more than the usual amount of plot forgotten in the interim. If they ever would. For goodness’s sake, Bridge Crew, do us all a favour and finish The Expanse NOW while it's still fresh in the guys' memories :-) And don't leave us all hanging.

I read the books, and so got some sideways enjoyment out an awful season by seeing some things from the page on screen, which is always interesting. Highly recommend the books. But I also like the characters, so it wasn't painful, just not exciting. But Jesus, if you're four seasons in, and still aren't invested/connected to the main characters.... just. tap. out. Screw the polls. This is less of a reaction than a hate watch, which is unique I guess, but as a fan it's kind of miserable. I've avoided most of these. Def voting against season five. Glad you found the X-Files though!

I would remind Alex that he hated both Amos and Bobbie earlier in the series. I worry that his Marco crash outs will influence the Bridge Crew vote and I am holding on to hope that they believe in the final two seasons and vote to continue. Selfishly, my favorite episode of the series is in season 5. I still appreciate their candor...difficult as it is to hear sometimes. 30 Helens agree...season 4 of The Expanse was terrible

Yeah, Ashford was literally shown to be recording the conversation as he fished for info, right as the guys were turned to one another, complaining about him not going down shooting.

Well.......that's done with. On the one hand, I would like to see the series finished, and I do think even if Marco isn't your cup of tea, there's still plenty other stuff to appreciate in the last 2 seasons. But whether I vote for it is probably going to depend on what the other option is. S2 of BSG has some amazing episodes and storylines, and Babylon 5 could be a fun journey to start down. Maybe some non scifi like Band of Brothers. Anything else I'd probably just vote to finish Expanse.

One thing I will say is that you’ve now completed 46 episodes of the Expanse, the remaining 2 seasons only have 16 episodes total, so we’re basically 3/4 the way through. Where season 4 is slowly paced, season 5 & 6 are probably the fastest paced in the entire run.

Marco is very polarizing. Some people absolutely adore his character, as a proper antagonist (reminds me of a certain character in Game of Thrones - won't mention the name in case Josh wants to finish GoT one day), others despise him. I personally love him, but I'm curious how your thoughts would change going forward (I remember not thinking much of him either way on my first watch). The only other thing I'll say, this is definitely the kind of show that rewards you for truly locking in and paying attention. If you don't, you can easily miss details that pay off later (or explains confusions you might have).

The Expanse is my favorite hard sci-fi/space series ever, so your reactions to it have been disappointing a lot of the time. After four seasons, I've come to the conclusion that you are just not in the TARGET AUDIENCE for this show. And that's fine. Not every show is for everybody. I also love Star Trek _and_ your reactions to it, but it's a very different kind of show in many ways, episodic and more in the sci-fi fantasy/adventure realm than The Expanse. I'll definitely keep following you on your Star Trek journey, but I kind of hope the Bridge Crew will drop The Expanse. It's just no fun to watch somebody trash something you love.

That's a bit harsh. They pay for their straight up read on the content...good, bad or indifferent. I would love to see them finish The Expanse. If they do, great. If they don't, I am still here. If you value someone telling it like it is, you should be too.

While I am with you on this to some degree, because I also love the Expanse and wish Josh & Alex enjoyed it as much as I do. However they have 16ish episodes left. They watched 3/4 of the show already. They should just finish the show.

Respectfully guys (I mean, I'm still a subscriber) but you guys own up to the fact that you miss stuff because you're chatting... So maybe keep in mind that some of the stuff you wanted from the show is actually there and you missed it? I'm enjoying your reactions (including the ones I disagree with), but I think it's unfair to judge the writers for decisions and intent that you're just assuming is there. PS: For example, the reason why Ashford didn't shoot Marco once he was cornered was because he knew that if he fired, he would have been immediately killed and Marco's plan wouldn't necessarily have been stopped. By surrendering he was able to record his conversation and transmit it out; it's on the screen but easy to miss.

The Expanse is the best sci-fi series ever made imo. Particularly seasons 1-3. I don't really enjoy your reactions to these much but I get you don't really like much sci-fi in your sci-fi. Fair enough. I'm not bridge crew but I'd rather you switched to Stargate SG1. That's very accessible and rapidly becomes an amazing series (and you don't have to actually pay much attention)

If I remember the announcement right, seems you guys are moving on to finish the series. Good luck, hope you enjoy it. I know I'm in the minority, but I think season 4 is the best of the Amazon seasons. I'm probably not gonna watch those reactions. I hope the bridge crew enjoys it, but I think voting to finish The Expanse is gonna be a lot like voting in Gao and I'm voting Avasarala.

It's bigger than killing a single person and Ashford was always about the bigger picture vs personal revenge, at least at this point in his life. The show literally force fed us that point and force fed us Ashford's continual prioritization of the greater good for the Belt. I mean for all the complaints about lack of character development in some shows you guys might try some character development yourself and pay a bit more attention rather than watching 5 seconds into a scene and talking over the rest of the 5 minutes of it. I guarantee shows will make a lot more sense to you if you do. Look some of it is amusing and all but dear God, I never have seen two grown men whine so much about something not making sense because they themselves talked over it... over and over again lol. Us viewers are going to hammer you like you hammer the shows, give us some fucking character growth.

I'm a huge fan of the books but watching through the television series is an absolute slog. The book this season is based on was one of my favorite in the series to read, but it sure didn't translate to the show. Looking forward to moving on from the Expanse.

Well...at least you two take the award for being the reactors with the most amount of characters you didn't care for compared to any others...my gods! You two at least are not kidding about complaints, the amount are off the charts!
