On reflection I kinda agree with your idea that Shades of Grey shouldn’t be on a worst 10 list because it doesn’t even count as an episode and having it there taking up a spot is a cop out. I don’t agree with Code of honour and up the long ladder not being there; those two episodes are just so offensive that I can’t not include them. I think force of Nature and Aquiel definitely have to be on the list. That’s the low hanging fruit taken care of, and it leaves 6 spots - I have to think long and hard about which episodes to fill them with.

My ten worst of TNG, I will be nice and not just put all episodes of season 7 and most of season 1. 10 Transfugurations, 9 angel one, 8 Interface, 7 Naked Now, 6 Up the long Ladder, 5 Schzoid man, 4 Code of Honor, 3 journeys end, 2 Man of the people, 1 the host. Dishonorable mentions to Force of nature, masks, The last outpost, And 30 more.

Weirdly I think Time's Arrow part 1 is better then part 2. I like the scenes with Data figuring out how to deal with being on past Earth, speaking French and hustling at cards. Its still not good. But there's so much worse for me.

My worst Top 3: 3. Force of Natur 2. Masks 1. Imaginary Friend. A Matter of Time was fine. Would not make it in the Top 10. But that depends just how you view the Guest Star.

You can say Shades of Grey isn't a real episode, but when it first aired I thought it was the laziness piece of shit I've ever seen, recapping mostly dog shit episodes, I fucking hate it

I count Shades Of Grey as an episode, but it doesn't make my list. These are just my opinion, i know some are popular episodes with a lot of people. My bottom 10 countdown is: Darmok, Final Mission, Transfigurations, Too Short A Season, Bloodlines, Force Of Nature, Ethics, We'll Always Have Paris, Masks, and my least favourite is Birthright part 2.

Yeah, I see it as an episode, and clearly the worst. It doesn't get any pass from me. If I wanted to avoid including it in my top 10, I'd just acknowledge it up front and maybe call it the 'Top 10 Worst Episodes in Addition to Shades of Grey'. It is, unfortunately, an episode. It aired, it has new footage, it's individually for sale digitally, it's documented by the show itself as an episode. It's just the laziest or most desperate way of making one.

It's funny to me how much Matter of Time bothers both of you just because I always midly enjoyed the guest actor. And since I wasn't put off by him, I wasn't distracted from enjoying the rest of the episode, which I thought was solid-not-great. I've never previously known anyone to be triggered by him.

I was a huge "Max Headroom" fan back when "A Matter of Time" first aired, so I ended up loving that episode. Mind you, I spent most of those years pretty drunk and stoned, so my judgement was highly suspect
