I tried to up my membership to the annual plan, but the credit card I used didn’t allow me to do it as a subscription and the transaction didn’t complete and I thought that it would go back to me being on my previous plan so I’m no longer a bridge crew member I’ll be on the lookout to return, but I am looking forward to finishing the expanse

The book was better than the season, but the book felt like some kind of science fiction movie I had seen before when I was a kid something about the robot that Miller in habits, but I couldn’t put a finger on it

Well it looks like the show runners went forward in time to see your Season 4 reaction so they could figure out how to make Season 5 awesome. Fred Johnson - ✅ Amos beating the shit out of goons - ✅ Storylines for the Roci crew - ✅ Faster pacing - ✅ Very little screen time for Marcos - ✅ Also did you notice Amos had stolen Murtry’s gym bag?

I love that they showed the shower fight in flashbacks because it emphasizes that this is hard for Amos. How often can he get chased, how many asses can he kick, how much can he take? The showrunners do a lot of little things that keep him from being a sociopath and this scene is a great example. And thank you Bridge Crew for forcing this show back on the schedule. After season 4, it really does feel like we're getting back to the real Expanse again.

S4 is possibly my favorite. But I love the hard sci-fi edge and the mysterious vibe of the season.

Yeah I really loved Cibola Burn too. But apparently it is an unfavoured book as well as a season. I kind of get that it stands out like a sore thumb but it definitely doesn't come across on screen. A quarry ain't weird enough. Kind of makes me less sad about the 3 we didn't get without mentioning any detail.

Lovell City on the Moon...named after James Lovell, the astronaut who commanded Apollo 13...famously played by Tom Hanks in Apollo 13. He just died last year. RIP.

In case you missed it (and these are not spoilers, it was deliberately shown but it could be missed if you were distracted)... .. in the end of season 4, Marco isn't "going to" Earth. He covered 9 rocks with stealth composites stolen from Mars and launched them at earth. That's what he's looking at at the end of the episode (and at the end of season 4).

well if the bridge crew is going to force feed The Expanse... hopefully they at least give us Babylon 5 next even though i know there's things in babylon 5 that are going to drive josh and alex nuts.

I did vote for Expanse, largely because I just wanted to see a non trek series finished, and one way or another, you're now locked in, so however this goes, at least you'll have a full series for the archives, and then we can move on to something else with a clean slate. That said after S4 I was definitely worried, but I'm glad to see it's pulled you back in for now at least. Definitely some good stuff this season to look forward to.

Wasn't here for voting. Oh well... Just got back yesterday in fact and started with your Voyager reactions. I have a *&^%load of catching up to do. Instead of starting from the top, I'm gonna watch this reaction and then go back to Dulcinea, as illogical as that may seem. BTW when commentors say things in a show are illogical, I usually retort, "Logical schmogical, we're just watching TV..." 😜 Now as far as this show goes, I just heard you say you vey much disliked season 4. That was my opinion as well - mostly. It was like Netflix's version of Lost in Space in a way, in that our heroes never get a break, just another life-threatening situ after another EVERY EPISODE! The rest of The Expanse so far was NOT like that, and S5 isn't either. IMHO It doesn't QUITE hold up to seasons 2-3, but it blows away season 4 just by whistling... If you DO react to Babylon 5, I AM SO HERE FOR IT! OMHO the best actor on THAT show is Andreas Katsulas (RIP), who you will recall played a (or more than one?) Romulan on ST:TNG and possibly DS9 (? can't remember, I'll get to those soon tho). All the 'major' alien characters on B5 are played by awesome actors!

Right then. I have fought my way through to the castle at the centre of the Labyrinth over the last few weeks. I am current on Expanse releases. So now I can comment on my overarching thoughts on the TA reacts so far. Number 1 thing.... Alex is incredibly unintentionally funny with his constant insisting that there was a motive as to why this or that character appeared more or less on the show. Fred in this one for example, where Alex thinks they brought him back because they need the big guns. Almost always Alex the truth is he is either in that book, or he isn't 😂. Normally due to distance to Tycho. You have to remember the authors of the books are big producers with creative control here. These seasons are as loyal to the books as they could be, outside of extraneous stuff like the cancellation and actor availability. Point 2, I agree season 4 was weak, but for different reasons. It did stray from the book because it couldn't afford the budget to do the planet visual justice. So it was padded with other stuff and watered down. Whilst desperate to keep the main beats. It ended up neither able to do it right or able to have the balls to cut and change the main plot (as Season 3 pt 2 did better). Last point. From a reader. The performance of Marcos so far is drastically far from how I experienced him and I would agree far too one note scheming villain for my taste. Watching with you is a relief after first watching this with my wife who thought he was a great heel. Looking forward to Saturday.

Disagree with, "We ALL hated S4"...while I rate S4 with S1 being the two weakest seasons even being the weakest easily top entire series I've watched. Plenty of other reactors who enjoyed S4, these two probably hated it the most but then again these two have the longest list of odd complaints and hatred for characters compared to any other reaction channel I've watched and I've watched them all.
