Okay, I'm going to keep making this same point until one of you shouts (in a later DS9 video) "Enough already. Jeez! We get it!". Behr was the showrunner from just after the middle of season 2. Piller, still assigned to DS9 but busy with Voyager pre-production, legally still got the official credit, but Behr was de facto showrunner. So, please no more "I'm worried about Behr becoming showrunner", because you're reaction channel creators, not navigating alternate timelines in which Behr only now became showrunner.

Spoiler shirts?! Um-maaaaaaah!

Agree with them hating on Behr. I stated in a previous post on Patreon and on YouTube that Behr was the showrunner since season 2, as well a writer. The direction the show has taken has primarily come from Behr and Wolfe, both of whom had extensive writing credits throughout the entire run of the show. Also, stop it with the Defiant got it's butt kicked in the first episode, it was surprised attacked, and outnumbered 3-to-1, and then a few minutes later outnumbered 6-to-1. If none of that sinks into your skulls, you are deliberately being dense, and unwilling to admit you were wrong in your assessments.

Ugh, I'm on my way to work and will have to watch this later! I can't wait! ❤️

Weird how the show got good down the back half of season 2.

There was a marked shift in story focus and style. DS9 stopped flirting with being TNG-esque.

I submit that Voyager isn't wasting it's premise of being stranded in the Delta Quadrant. The reason they are out there is to give DS9 room to breathe. Only now on a release order rewatch do I understand how playing second fiddle to TNG in the Alpha Quadrant crippled the show for most of the first two seasons.

Numinous2019

Yes. Also, the Dominion threat is big enough that if Voyager had been set in the Alpha Quadrant, it would have had to keep jumping through hoops not to get involved in some way. DS9 was set in the fringes of the Alpha Quadrant so as not to 'interfer' with TNG. Paramount clearly did not want even one week without a ST show on the air.
