I saw the title and was confused. LOL. Was like, wasn't this DS9 season 3?

Sunny

Yup, I thought the same thing. Working late today so it’s nice to have something to play either way though.

This movie has some really good, if often pretty on the nose, cinematography like in his memory of his wife, the warm colors and soft focus oh her but stark and gray colors on Preston, and the colors starting to change the more he starts to feel Also, Alex was kind of hard to hear in this video :(

Vina

Also, unlike the others here, I actually thought of this movie when seeing the title, not the DS9 episode lol

Excellent movie recommendation, highly underrated. And Law Abiding Citizen is fantastic too, recommend you watch it (even in your own time). Just wondering, is there a list somewhere of all movie recommendations so far that haven't been fulfilled? Wondering if Dark City is upcoming.

Paul

Thanks

Man from Earth! Great choice Elbi. Can't wait.

Battlewolf359

ooooooo, Can't wait for War Games!

Love this movie. Plot is simple, but gun play is great.

Post viewing comment -- Basically, it was "Matrix" meets "1984". I liked it! A lot of Batman connections here. Bale obviously played Bruce Wayne / Batman in the Christopher Nolan series, but William Fichtner was the manager at the mob-owned bank that Joker robs in the opening of "The Dark Knight" and the "Father" on the screens was Sean Pertwee, who played Alfred in five seasons of "Gotham" No relevance to this movie whatsoever, but I shine when it comes to pointing out irrelevancies 😎

I love the last fight in this one... they're sword fighting, but the swords are guns.

I love this movie

I'd make an excellent extra for this movie.

Saw this at the cinema in 2002 (with one other person in the screen) LOVED it, have to say it's been a very long time since I watched the entire thing, usually just skip between the kick ass action scenes, but it really holds up. yeah the Bad cleric smiling and showing emotion all the time has always annoyed me, it's one thing for the guy in charge to show emotion, it's good to be the king, but yeah he was smiling a bit too much. Occasional smiling I can see as performative like when the cashier at Mcdonalds smiles at you, it's their job. Glad to see you bought in to the Gun-Kata straight away, it's one of those things, 'the movie says it works, so it works, just go along with it'. One thing that did pull me out is the guy in the library who is afraid of Preston is played by Brian Conley is was well known in the UK in the 90s as a light entertainment guy doing silly sketches and impressions on TV. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZf7o5_Z_dg

The actor who plays the dictator is Sean Pertwee. He’s the son of Jon Pertwee, who played one of the Doctor Who’s.

"In the first years of the 21st century, a third World War broke out. Those of us who survived knew mankind could never survive a fourth. That our own volatile natures could simply no longer be risked. So we have created a new arm of the law....the Discord Moderators, whose sole task it is to seek out and eradicate the true source of man's inhumanity to man. His ability...to troll." I've been meaning to watch this movie for a couple decades. I caught the start on TV years ago but didn't finish at the time. I knew the basic premise and of course heard about the gun katas. Beyond that nothing. It's pretty good. The choreography in the fights is very well done and there's some great tension in a few spots. I will say though standing in the middle of a group of armed assailants and not getting shot does strain believability a bit, even if it looks cool. I think this kind of flashy action sequence has given way to the hyper pragmatic John Wick style action. Good movie though. And the main guy having emotion is a perfect summation of the typical politician; rules for thee but not for me.

I was wondering where I knew Pertwee from. Gotham was a fun show.
