UltraPhantom Is it safe for FDM printers to manually scale them bigger if we want to? Or just use caution?
    ARKEVZ 3D Creator

Hey friend, you can do it, I don’t think there’s a problem.

TJ231 Looking awesome. What scale do you think came out the best for FDM?
    ARKEVZ 3D Creator

Hey friend, how’s it going? As mentioned in another comment, the scale is 1/8. I do it mainly to protect the small joints, but you can do it in whatever scale you want.

Okay. Just curious is the hulk FDM file already scaled to 1/8 or do I need to do that manually

The addition of FDM for your figures is pretty recent. Are there major differences in the resin files vs FDM? Will older figures be able to be printed in FDM or do they need adjustments? I haven’t compared the resin vs FDM in a recent model to see how they differ.

Basically, the differences are the scale, the inclusion of .3mf files, and the print quality of the figures. It’s obvious that resin prints are more polished, but beyond that, they’re the same articulation system with variations to improve friction and assembly, but that’s about it.

So if I want to scale up an older model for FDM and add colour that’s possible without having to edit the stl files?

If you want an old model that’s only for resin, printing it for FDM won’t work, my friend. The only models that currently have an FDM version are Hulk, Haland, and Captain America.

Top half coming along great. The only problems I’ve run into so far are the shoulders don’t hold their position very well and I can’t get the pants to stop moving around when I put the legs on

Also, is there any better way to keep the hands on? They tend to slip of sometimes

    Hey friend, how’s it going?

Well, regarding the shoulders, a quick fix could be to put a little glue on the sides and wiggle it around until it dries. I don’t know if I’m explaining it well, but that will create friction between the parts. As for the pants, it’s the same: glue the “waist inside” part to the pants so it stays in place!

It’s worth noting that I used this method for Captain America, and I think it will largely solve this problem.

Similarly, apply a layer of glue to the hands and that will create friction.

I’ll give this a try, thanks!

Okay, I’ll try this. Should I use something like super glue or hot glue?

I also thought about maybe trying clear nail polish: this is what I use on my marvel legends figures when they get loose

I used a little bit of glue on waist piece and the pants section. It holds it together pretty well

On the Captain America knee joint. Which way should the arrow face? Top of the joint? Or bottom?

Top of the joint, my friend

Working on the FDM version of Cap. I didn’t think to check the scale. He is going to be bigger than the Hulk. I would recommend either printing Hulk bigger or printing Cap at like 80 - 85%

Finished. Pretty solid build. Just added some super glue in the joints to tighten them up a bit is all.

    Hey guys, what’s up?
I wanted to share the new Creator 5 with you!

I hope to do some testing and upload better content about FDM figures!
This is all thanks to you and your support. Thank you so much to everyone who has decided to be here with me and grow together!
I’ll share more about this printer soon! Cheers!

Never thought to do grey hulk that looks great

Hulk is put together and looking great! I used clear nail polish on the sockets and he holds his poses really well. I’m planning on doing a grey and red hulk as well
