Disclaimer - We thought the show ended with a couple of minutes left in the episode 💀We've just figured it out and watched the parts we missed as of the time of posting this. In the next episode, we are even more confused about the recap in the beginning, but we just assumed they skipped a day in the actual show. Just a FYI for reassurance👍🏽. We are all good now, though!

I didn't really like Mason's character but he definitely didn't deserve to die. I 100% believed him when he said he was in town for his family, well obviously he was there for Katherine too but still... Mason hadn't did anything to Stefan or Damon until Damon started with him. I know Mason accidentally attacked Stefan, but like Mason said he had no control once he changed into a wolf. It's Damon's own fault that Mason became their enemy and got them exposed. Damon wasn't smart at all to start with him in my opinion.

You guys are too harsh on Caroline's mom. Throughout the entire series, Caroline has been rude to her mom, making comments about how her dad left her for another man, and Liz obviously grew up with the same mentality that all vampires are evil. So clearly it's going to be hard for her to see her daughter as a vampire, especially the way she was introduced by killing two of the other deputies and having blood all over her. And the way they're nonchalantly keeping Liz prisoner and saying "soon you'll be compelled" like is she supposed to be happy to see her daughter like this? I like Caroline, especially as a vampire, but I understand her mom's perspective too, especially since they already have an estranged relationship because she felt her mom cared more about her job than she did about her, and that's valid but again, they don't have the best relationship so even when Liz tried to be involved in her life, Caroline would tell her not to bother. So seeing her as a vampire, she isn't automatically going to be accepting.

Oh but they did have to kill Mason because apparently a werewolf bite is fatal to them so why risk it? He also exposed them to the sheriff’s counsel and sent them to the slaughter without blinking, he would’ve never truly trusted them after they survived that and he wouldn’t have wanted to live in fear so he would’ve just tried to do it again without it getting fd up this time, as Damon said when Jeremy said he doesn’t need to die is kill or be killed Mason would kill them the second he gets the chance to there’s no reason for them to live in fear either that one day Mason might just come up with a better plan to end them… their relationship was ruined the minute Damon tried to kill him the first time there was no hope after that, none of them trusts the other and to be honest even if Damon didn’t try that the first time as per what they know the legend does say a bite from a werewolf kills a vampire so it would still be better for them to get rid of him instead of playing Russian roulette
