I LOVE THIS EPISODE! This is where is starts to get good. (Edit I was thinking of the next episode. THATS when it gets really good. Also, I agree. Jasper pissed me off and he shouldn’t have been there. The grounders were only in the trees in case something happened. They weren’t about to be there unprotected).

You’ll understand why the grounders speak English eventually but you have to remember that the original 100 were sent to a specific place by Jaha where they’d be able to access supplies but they landed a few miles away from that place. They were trying to get there when the grounders first attacked them. There’s also the fact that language doesn’t evolve that quickly so if it was an English speaking nation then they’d still retain the language after only 100 years.

Clarke’s plan to bring back up was a good idea. They have no reason to trust the grounders (who violated the no weapons rule anyway). Where the fuck up came was giving Jasper, who’s already more terrified of grounders than the average person, a gun.

You have to remember that while Diana appeared to be fighting for the workers’ rights, she simply had a grudge against Jaha because he beat her in the election to become chancellor. She strategically allied herself with the workers who are the most skilled on the ark because they would do the work she needs done and they’d view her as their leader. She manipulated them for power and is ultimately a selfish person.

Sophie you broke it down PERFECTLY! Jasper of all people shouldn’t have been there and regardless if they had niggas in trees…..this is not their land. They are the invading forces and bc of their actions, they’re being seen as aggressors & conquerors. Trusting the people who you’re begging for peace with, on THEIR land— would have been a show of good faith. You can’t negotiate starting off with bad intentions or being distrustful yourself, when you barely have shit to negotiate with in the first place…..
