Raven can't expect to tell a crowd of over 500 that everyone needs to help but only 100 will actually get to survive, only 1/5 of their population gets to live on. There would be an outrage and people will rebel against the system which they do not have time for. I get raven needs workers but then she can't want them and at the same time be mad when they don't know the full truth. It's a shitty situation in general, imo bellamy made the wrong choice which now will fall onto clarke and raven. They needed that generator. Great episode.

blahblahblahhh

How is them choosing to free the slaves over getting the generator different than Clarke letting that village get bombed in s2? She chose to save the many over the few

Bellamy always finds a way to piss me off LOL. Like NOW you suddenly grow a conscience? Anytime that nigga think (or he lets someone think for him) bad shit happens. Like he cannot be trusted to make decisions. And yeah, Octavia is on demon time since Lincoln died but personally I love it. With the whole Clarke thing…..I get why she did what she did bc Bellamy backed her into a corner and after everything shes witnessed…..she knows humans are gonna turn on each other & she doesn’t trust in human decency. Which I get…and lying was fucked up but it’s really Bellamy’s fault 😩 shes doing the best with what she got!

I can't wait for the later episodes, I feel season 4 and 5 finales are so good.

The episode stays true to the title at least. This episode was all about big decisions, thinking short-term, with cooking consequences. -Echo I think appreciated Octavias move, but no doubt Roan will be upset if it makes him look weak. -Bellamy was certainly morally peer pressured. I dont disapprove, because maybe these freed saves will have positive consequences. -Clarke is making all the big decisions for others, when there is no chancellor now. Its like they're a council, yet they expect Clarke to make all the decisions like a chancellor. Any one of them could call a town meeting like she did and tell the people the truth. But they all stay silent, and they use Clarke as an excuse to deflect their own guilt. And like you guys said, the lie was not the best choice. Sure people would panic, but what are they gonna do? Give them time to process and come up with plans. Theyre not gonna riot. The only threat is disorganization, and a power shift. The power might shift away from the few, and the citizens would want more involvement with the council. So it also comes down to power dynamics, and I think Clarke and the rest of the council are so used to keeping people alive, they dont believe ppl can make decisions on their own anymore. Which comes arrogance and hubris, and that leads to decisions, like lying to 500 ppl. Now, theyre going to panic when they DONT have time to process
