Europe is a bonus, we’ve got a LC won and in full control of winning a treble. Pips treble chasing bears, let’s go until may

Jock Paterson

Not converting chances. Let’s hope it isn’t the theme for the remainder of the season. The team did very well to get this far though.

Rona Bluebell

Disappointing but those extra games probably a push too far for this squad. Dundee and a break then we go into the final run to 56.

James

Not a lot in it. Missed our chances, and paid the price for those goals in the first leg. Benfica could easily have scored 2 own goals, so in that sense they had the luck tonight.

Derek Maxwell

Disappointing, however maybe for the best given our lack of available players for a hard run in to the end of season.. they can hold their heads up, certainly wernt disgraced..

Billy Forrester

Proud of them, nothing in it and they can hold their heads high, tired players out there tonight, the break can’t come quick enough

Spoon

Good work rate, some nice bits of play but just nothing clear cut for us, strangely if we had nicked it we would probably have been raving about grit and character to grind that out. Fine margins and at this level the extra quality they had counts but we definitely competed.

Robert White

Very very unlucky across the 2 ties. Think we should have had a lead from Benfica and Di Maria shouldn't have been playing. Tonight would have been very different. Team gave their all and we have a fabulous Europe seeding.

Graham Jones

We were just short of what we needed tonight. Little surprise when you see the injuries we have and amount of games the players have had to play. The manager will just want the win at the weekend and let players rest a bit to let them to recharge for the run-in. If there’s any consolation tonight, it’s that we can focus on the league now. That was always the priority for me, but Europe does become an irresistible distraction for everyone. Not to be this season, so I guess Dublin can breathe easier tonight.

Andy Gray

To only lose by the odd goal over 2 games to a team like that says a lot about manager and players he has available. Could have been different story etc but we are where we are. Disagree tho, I think some of our players do look physically tired - we just need to get thru Sunday and hopefully we are in better shape after the break.

Russ

I'm not going to lament injuries or the schedule, we were mince in attack tonight against a side that for me were there for the taking. Good run, hopefully the lads kick on now for the rest of the season!

Tav looked tired and even pissed off when he entered the stadium from the bus

Collin Gartshore

We were naive defensively, especially with their counter attack. Couldn’t be more proud of the effort this evening. Onwards and upwards.

George Higgins

I agree we could have made subs earlier . I am confident we will improve.

Derek Stevenson

Clement won’t admit it and maybe I’m wrong, I just felt the changes that may have been made at 60-65 minutes were not made with a potential of ET and thus affecting options on Sunday. Cantwell & Roofe mainly not being able to play a potential 60 min plus at this stage. Disappointed at FT but we have so much to go for, 3 points at Dens, rest then the path is clear until May.

Gary Shaw

Not going to lose much sleep over this result but it’s not often you draw a team as big as Benfica and that are really average, that’s the frustrating thing….It’ll be a minor miracle if we win the league with Dessers as our main striker aswell coz he’s easily the worst player with the most minutes I’ve seen in a Rangers jersey…..Diomande is a major worry for me in the big games going forward and needs to adapt quickly or it could be the undoing in the games against the horrible mob.

David Scott

Thought Lawrence and Diomande were passengers and should have been subbed a lot sooner, we just can’t compete at this level with the front line we have available just now, does Shankland bury one of those chance we will never know, proud of the effort but its time to bring home a treble 🏆🏆🏆🔴⚪️🔵

Sgems90

Proud of the effort from the team. We lacked quality when it mattered and as you say we never looked like scoring all night.

I agree in it being a miracle if we win this league with Dessers as our main striker however I believe in miracles and I’m convinced we will win this title even with our main striker being poor. Diomande for me is a great player who I have no worries about whatsoever
