If we had got Dessers on a Bosman and he was our second striker then you would say he has contributed. Unfortunately that's not the case. We need a proper number 9 in the summer. I'd like to see Shankland come in and maybe one other.

I think when we look at priorities then we have to be realistic. We need to get some real quality in attack - no quantity. We will have 3 loan players leaving who are attackers and personally of those left I’d be happy with mcausland and Danilo. Others are squad players at best with some simply not good enough. Will we be able to go and get 3 or 4 attackers - plus a left back and then upgrade centre half as well? I hope so but I think it’ll be more than one window

My Mrs watched a bit of the hibs game when we were on a break last week - from Leith but zero knowledge of football and said why are there so many empty seats, I thought this was a big match. And - would they not be better selling more tickets to Rangers fans. As I say, a glance at a match and zero interest in the game but called it straight away

Stop this revisionism re Dessers PLEASE. He's a DUD. Every fan I know and those around me would rather even have a B team player up front because they'd contribute more and score with the type of chances he has scored from. He doesn't help the team in any way except his odd ( strange?) goal. We'd be better off with someone like Cantwell as number 9.

Just feel sorry for you if you actually believe Drossers ( I've been calling him that for 6 months and nothing has changed) isn't hopeless. Perhaps I'm influenced by having seen Millar, Brand, Forrest, Stein, Hateley, SuperAlly, Mo Johnston, Boyd, Miller and Alfredo. Writing that list has angered me even more to think who our number 9 is now.

Assuming we do go forward with deals for Cortes, Diomande and Sima we need replacements for Tav, Goldson, Lundstram and Dessers. If we get a big bid from Saudi for Tav in the summer we absolutely have to take it. If we get another big bid for Handsome Jack - enough to fund a significant rebuild - again we have to take it (assuming the rebuild can find a goalie of a similar standard.

Think £40-£50m is a pipe dream mate. I’d be keeping both lundstrum and goldson - I’d like us to get another centre back to replace souttar and have him back goldson up for a season. A left back and 3/4 forward players will be priority over a centre back in my opinion. Just can’t see us reconstructing any more than that in one window.

Hoggy and Cammy, you referenced the disappointments of the 55 season in the period after the title was clinched. The St Johnstone calamity left me devastated to Levski Sofia/10 in a row levels. Compare that to our controlled quarter final win last week, when the players were fighting on three fronts. We have had the same disappointment in Europe this week as we experienced this time three years ago. I felt the Slavia tie was a missed opportunity, whereas Benfica was a bridge too far - a Champions League level side. We might have performed better had those ties been in the midst of pressurized league matches.
