That Nelms interview was a disgrace and sums up the utter clowns in charge of the many tin pot clubs in our country. His "robust" comment goes further than terrible pitches and you can add over aggressive challenges to that. It's all detrimental to our game and it shows the sheer magnitude of the problems that need to be addressed before we can even start to improve the standard of our game.

Dave Fleming

There is a rule (Rule H11). The SPFL just choose not to enforce it.

Bill Jones

Can someone remind me why we have the split?

Craig

Nelms is a total bozo obviously, but he learned in 2020 there's a significant enough part of your fanbase that will let you away with murder as long as "the huns are raging".

David Campbell

Yesterday I was fuming today I've calmed we where playing on fumes and on that pitch it could of been a disaster. I know they are going to put it in between the hibs and celtic. I would just refuse to play it then and go for midweek after.

Stewart Thomson

Is it any wonder you get people like Simon Jordan coming out and calling the SPFL a "pseudo pub league". It's hard to offer a case for the defence after that farce yesterday. McDiarmid park wasn't much better the other week btw, another abomination of a playing surface we have to put up with when we shouldn't have to in this day and age. Motherwell must be at the lower end of the table in terms of budgets etc, they've sorted their pitch out, why can't the rest?

Martin Boyd

Love Kate Rusby. Don’t love international breaks.

Russ

I don't like intl breaks at the best of times but it's worse when you're stewing on a loss in the league and in Europe (Hibs cup game aside). Need some good content this week lads! Cheers for the update.

KennyY

Watched the women yesterday and agree with you that they’ve been like that for a few weeks. I won’t be unkind but I think it’s fair to say that the women’s team have been crying out for a new keeper for a couple of years now

Finlay MacDonald

Annoying yesterday that there was a perfectly playable pitch 400 yards from Dens. I know it would have taken a little time to open up, agree a fee etc but at least game could have been played.

Heart and Hand

Zero chance. No pre-safety work done, planning etc. Non-starter. Also, would you be happy if we opened up Ibrox to let Celtic play?!

Graham McCallum

Do you think in some sort of perverse way, the tin pot clubs in our league decide to have their pitches in a shit state because other clubs have an advantage on plastic?

Scott Christian

It’s depressing how things have gone with Roofe, it’s such a shame. But yes sentiment gets you nowhere. He will always be fondly remembered and made welcome I’m sure! You can almost guarantee that Cortes’s future lies entirely in our hands- if we sign him he will spend 80% of his time on the sidelines and if we don’t then he will have a sparkling career. It’s just the way it is with us and injuries!!

Niall MacKay

Knowing our luck, Diomande will pick Ghana and come back having been crippled by that big darling Bassey.

Doogz

How can any team in the top league have 4 postponements in one season, pay off their ground staff, and the league don’t hit them with any sanctions? PS for the record I don’t believe the clown Nelms was anywhere near the ground at five in the morning. As David said they have turned up seen how bad things were and panicked.

Colin Ferguson

Dundee should be deducted points for this..

Douglas Wright

So raging that the game was called off yesterday. We arrived at the stadium right as the game was called off. Do I trust that Dundee will have a pitch suitable for the midweek game, Nope I do not.

Stephen

There definitely should be a rule concerning the standard of the pitch. Even Livingston have had games called off because their all weather pitch is frozen😂. It’s a safety issue for the players as well. Nothing will be done about though.

James Anderson

No action will be taken against Dundee. Afterall that club helped them out of a scrape by resending the dodgy email.

Rona Bluebell

To minimise the burden of too many games playing each other 4 times. The split reduces the game fixtures.

Jay

Brilliantly sweary today Davie👍

Leslie White

David hope your Blood Pressure has stabilised and you loose the need for expletives! LOL enjoyed the show as usual.

Paul

You simply can't arrive at a nearby stadium with thousands of people without a proper health and safety plan in place. Proper risk assessments need to be conducted, staff require thorough site inductions etc. Each stadium usually has its own dedicated staff to ensure these protocols are followed. These take days, and weeks.

Peter Hosie

What will be the financial forfeit from Sky due to this and why was there no investigation after the 3rd call off?

G Calder

Its 100% correct there should be minimum standards for pitches . It could be easy done saying no to plastic pitches.. But I wonder how you decide if a grass pitch is up to standard ? An independent inspector perhaps ? 1st giving warnings 1st ,then sanctions -banning from showing sky games ,& fines etc ? Its sad if there are teams deliberately letting pitches be so bad to try & level out the football .

Gary Brown

Thanks for the update David. Tinpot! There's the outcome the SPFL investigation should conclude, won't though. It'll rumble away quietly and disappear.
