Unfortunately we have some in our own support who pollute the likes of Follow Follow with similar comments, hiding behind the anonymity of the internet to spout their garbage. I always refer to the post on FF which said, “If your daughter played football, would you feel the need to highlight to her that her standard was shite?” Hopefully not. Consequently, let others get on with their participation and enjoyment of the sport, particularly those who are representing the club we support. If you can’t encourage, shut the fuck up.

Thanks for the update David. Good to hear how the lads on international duty did. What a sad state the world, mainly the social media world is. Football is football. No one forces you to watch it or take an interest. Women's game not for you? Fair enough. Don't watch it then. Simples! I love watching football at many different levels and can appreciate skill, technique, tactics & effort which are good, commensurate within that level. There are literally millions of levels! There is a reason football is the global sport, it can be played by anyone, anywhere. Don't even need an actual ball sometimes! Anyone who derides another person for simply playing a game they love is not worth listening to. Congratulations Stephen, I'm not one bit jealous 😀. Enjoy your prize👍.

Women were not banned from playing football. They were banned from using FA members grounds. My mum played, and was not a bad wee player. One of the best pictures I have of her is in her football strip along side my aunty Jean who also played (1950s)

We have also had tirades against women co commentators and analysis - there’s very much a football is for the men attitude from many sadly. Barton seems to think they are stealing his job, as if he was somehow next in line at Sky if it wasn’t for Emma Hayes. It’s all a bit tragic.

"Paperback Writer" still gives me the fear to this day David. When I was about 10 or 11 I would listen to Radio Clyde 261 😊 and when midweek games were on there was a show that came on after it. I hated hearing it because my football fix would need to wait till the weekend. Still to this day when I hear that song it reminds me of in my room hoping Rangers would get a result which was few and far under John Greig. Then that song made it worse. I can't actually say if it is a good song or not for that reason. Ah the memories! 🤣

Even though I am a total HOOT 😁 David has avoided involving me in the pod due to my complete lack of knowledge about football. A certain amount does reach me via osmosis and I do look up the full time scores when I know it’s an important game. However that’s as much as I can offer on the football front. I did offer once to do a Q&A type pod on any issues listeners have with their dog. I have two diplomas in canine psychology and dog behaviour & training and as soon as I mention that to anyone they ask me advice about their dog…..
