With it being Old Firm week, we go back to the early Time Capsule archives to pull out a classic. Maurice Johnston was Celtic's poster boy of the 80s. In the spring 1989, he was on the verge of a return to them after two years in France and was even paraded in their top by Billy McNeill. However, he would soon plunge a knife into their hearts with his move to Ibrox. In the November he would twist it. Andy joins to Martyn to discuss a day that will never be forgotten.

This show was first broadcast on Tue 6 November 2018. The Main Event will return next week.

Ah the time capsule song, I’ve missed it. Terrific show.

Graeme Burns

What’s the theme tune? I know it but cannot remember it and it’s starting to irritate me

This game was on the Saturday and on the Monday I joined the RN. What a weekend that was.

Need another series of the Time Capsule 👍

I had just left Basic Training in the army, get to Germany and have to share a room with a tim! Great joy all round and the fact it was Mo scoring made it even better

Steffen McAndrew

Stunning show reminiscing about monumental times. I love how Spurs ao mental about Sol Campbell signing for Arsenal: there is no comparison.

Alan Byers

Great listen again lads. Just for the record I was in the main stand at the Broomloan end and it was all Rangers. Had a great view of their wee faces when Mojo scored!

Ross Guild

How young does Andy sound in this pod? 😂

I was working in John menzies stock room in argyle Street and remember listening to radio Clyde during this game. 2 celtic supporters working next to me. I didn't say a word the rest of the shift. Just smiled at them. They were raging

Thanks for rerunning this guys, wasn't a patron back then and it's difficult to delve into the archives when there's so much good stuff currently on the network. Ah, MoJo! Takes me back. Bit older than both of you. Has to be said at the time this signing was almost as impactful for our support as theirs. Carnage! Not just the odd showboat ripping up last year's season ticket or shouting "I'll 'no be back" for 15 seconds of fame on the telly interviews. Carnage. End of the club as we knew it! Groundbreaking beyond comprehension. A decision despised & adored. Sometimes by the same person at the same time! Now it's all 'this broke them, they've never recovered' but up until this goal it was 'can he, WILL he do it against them?' Plenty of the fanbase not convinced until this goal - and his celebration. History is written by the winners. Come home Agent Mo, mission accomplished! the postscript in an alternate universe..
