First comment! Bloody shambles from Dundee

Brian Rae

Their club secretary has gone on Sky Sports and blamed climate change. Clearly, they don't give a f#ck. For context, there is Amateur football games being played tonight, on public pitches in Dundee.

chris smith

Creepy Uncle Pheter getting what he wanted then …

Damien Stubbs

David you need to bring back the old sporting integrity awards pronto 😂

Graham McCallum

The league are run by inept cowards, people like John Nelms can smell that. He knows they can’t really do anything too bad because they’re weak. From that we get inept scared refs. Our game is absolutely doomed because every other club is watching this, and seeing what they will get away with next year if they decide to blow their pitch budget on players. What Dundee have got away with this season is an absolute scandal and just reinforces the need for a total reset of the football authorities in Scotland

Jim Milne

This postponed game for the 2nd time is impacting sporting integrity, with how many games we have to play in as many days. Dundee have put player signings above pitch, they should be deducted so they can't make the top 6 as punishment IMO, and the game either played at Ibrox or another stadium closer to Glasgow to help travelling bears.

John Smith

Dundee United well better

BluenoseFive

Can’t argue with any of that. My concern is as I said in the other thread that if it gets cancelled again next week. What happens then? We could be in a position that we need to play four matches in a week. We should just get our tour of Japan booked now to head that one off.

David

Climate change 😂

Big Ian

Cheers David 🤜🏻🤛🏻

Paul Kerr

Good old sporting integrity chucked out the window at a whim when it suits. No contingency in place, so the league must have lied to us when they said there was. The Dundee microclimate excuse is the most ironic because it doesn't hold any water...

Craig

We have to have sympathy for Dundee, nobody could see this coming, especially after the last 4 postponements and the almost postponement on Saturday. The SPFL have been right out at the front leading it, making sure the integrity of the league is preserved, well done to them!!!

mark wyper

Should be points deduction that'll teach them and any other club going forward.

Graham Macgregor

570 miles travelled for two aborted trips, least I wasn’t as far as Dundee this time

Kona

Thanks David

Mario

Well said david

Mario

How come covers on pitch gets worse????

Jason Allan

SPFL again not being proactive and ensuring pitches are at a standard to cope with rain. Sky rightly should be furious and demand action after Dundee’s 5th home game this season is postponed. Until SPFL board is removed and professionals without links to other clubs, our game will just stagnate. Keeping it stagnant is only suiting one club, you know the one with worlds biggest pedophile ring in world sport.

Ewan White

Any idea what Rangers proposed solution is? Alternative ground?

John Hutchison

Shifty and his pals at the SPFL will sit on their arses and do nothing as he'll see it as an advantage for his team.

Billy Forrester

Nearly 25% of their home games have been cancelled, it’s a total disgrace. I actually hate Dundee and hope Aberdeen pump them and then when we pump them they miss top 6. Wankers

Iain McHolm

I can't understand how Dundee can have problems with a waterlogged pitch when they have such a strong firewall, surly that would dry it out!

David Campbell

Imagine trying to blame climate change 🤣

David_Davy_Dave

Have you never noticed any time an issue comes up and we look to the rules they are vague, subjective and without defined punishment Ticket allocation? Must be reasonable. No idea who decides what that is or how and no clear punishment able to be enforced if a club just doesn’t give away fans tickets It is by design not an accident. Harper McLeod drafted these laws at the formation of the SPFL Every issue the executive are able to dodge acting and just say “it’s up to the clubs” This is a vicious circle. The rules allow Doncaster etc to do nothing and by doing nothing they stay in place

Colin Carstairs

There current pitch was only laid at the beginning of this season… If it was me I would be asking for a refund

Colin Carstairs

The last United game at Tannadice postponed due to weather was in January 2021. Dundee have had 1️⃣4️⃣ games at Dens Park postponed since then. From a Dufc fan on Twitter (X).

Tom Smith

The price for a full squad of players and staff at the Old Course Hotel should be refunded by Dundee FC. ( twice ) tinpot club.

Mark Sheen

The SPFL rules h12 states if the pitch condition is not satisfactory the board can make the club take steps in a period of time to comply or face further sanctions. My question is, has the spfl done this? Surely after the 2nd or 3rd time they were enforcing THEIR OWN RULES

Tom

The Dundee Secretary should be added to the list of people held under 'Operation: Less Pricks' along with Lisa Riley and an organisation who declared an awareness week for awareness weeks.

John Palmer

Rangers should refuse to put this fixture off any longer and demand that they be awarded the 3 pts. It's nothing short of Disgraecful and Tinpot that Firewall FC are unable to fulfill their fuxture when Every other Team in the land including one that's a stones throw away from Dens Park.

Craig McWhinnie

Lets be honest here this could have been the only game played in Europe last night and it still wouldn’t have gotten the viewership figures of the old firm let alone on a champions league night so its a bit silly to mention that to be honest.

Craig McWhinnie

Completely agree with David is embarrassing, was thinking last night what must Philippe think of this? Plus we have 2 guys from the English premier league here on loan, suppose hopefully the saving grace is that this is clearly a Dundee FC problem, can talk about the condition of some of the other 8 real grass playing surfaces in the league but least they manage to get games played.

Steven Miller

Thanks for pod David. What ever happened with the letter sent by the 6 clubs following the independent report into the governing body? Was there not a date set for the submitting clubs to meet up etc ? That seems to have come to nothing.

Gareth Williams

Old man travelled through to meet me in Edinburgh from work to Drive to Dundee. I left work an hour early and drove to work yesterday rather than the usual train journey. 3 weeks ago was at Perth roundabout when the game was cancelled so had to about turn. So I’m out of pocket twice because Dundee can’t get their act together. There’s another 4000 people affected twice now in one way or another and out of pocket. They need held to account!!

Craig McWhinnie

While Hibs are quite right to be angry their argument is pretty much null and void, as shit as Dundee are at looking after their pitch surely they must realise that the likely outcome of the game against us is 0 points so they need to beat Aberdeen regardless

Douglas Wright

I worked in Dundee yesterday so it was easier to get to the game, at no point would I describe the rain as heavy. disgraceful the pitch couldn't handle some light rain. I wont be travelling up a third time for the game having arrived at Dens before it was called off the first time.

Scott Tolmie

Clyde 1, you can’t give Rangers 3 points because of sporting integrity, a certain club where handed a league title with x amount of games left ffs, couldn’t make it up

Andrew Bothwell

David - do the club know what the further contingency plan is should the pitch remain unplayable next week? Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different result, but that seems to be the great plan from Dundee and the SPFL, try again next week with rain forecast.

Gregg

Seems bizarre that it passed the early test - they put the covers back on - then it failed. What caused this
