David is right, Tavs missed 5 pens since Clement has came in. Thats too many, any other taker would be taken off them and it would be next man up and I’m assuming that’s Dessers as he’s been the only other pen taker this season.

Andrew Finlayson

That’s the argument isn’t it, in the biggest pressure moment who are we picking but on the other hand how many misses does Clement allow.

Alan Weir

Lundstram was fine yesterday, but he has spent far too much time recently playing passes that the centre halves could, and should, be playing.

Steffen McAndrew

Excellent pod. Love hearing from Andy McGowan…so balanced but positive (and you too David) The “shots from outside the box” issue gets my blood simmering. It seems to be really common in EPL to NOT shoot from outside the box; it’s almost like everyone wants to score the perfect goal.

Colin Tarleton

Brilliant "Fucking shoot shoot song"🤣🤣

Lee

We fucked this at county and Dundee. Even if we can talk ourselves into hope at their place (no rational reason), I wouldn't be confident in us outscoring them over the last 2.

Stephen Rankine

Wasn’t expecting Cammy Fraser to pop up in the pod-endeared himself even more to the bears by missing a penalty at Parkhead couple of weeks after the infamous V sign incident 😩

Billy McCormack

By the way look at our penalty again, the killie keeper might've been behind the line but when he jumped forward his right foot was beyond the line as Tav struck it, it should've been retaken, again VAR and officials letting us down.

Samuel Campbell

I'm fairly sure only one foot has to be on the line so if only the right foot was forward then it's fine

Andrew Finlayson

Roofe won’t be on the pitch, he’s totally finished, whenever he’s played this season he’s been totally anonymous aside from Betis, I was looking at his numbers the other day he’s scored 1 goal in 17 appearances domestically and 2 in 22 overall.

Billy McCormack

We only won cause they went down to 10, we got lucky, next week will be a train wreck again cause these players will let us down again, Lawrence shoot like that yesterday woop te doo, he only does that when he can be bothered the same as Lundstrum, the amount of times he's near that 25 Box and doesn't shoot, but yesterday against 10 Lundstrum and Lawrence both do it, fuck off, had it with this team and this club for putting out mediocre players, and we're not going top next week cause the majority of these players are arseholes.

Duncan

Can you imagine how different the feeling would be if we had been chasing them all season and just pulled it back to 3 points with 3 games to go? Instead the belief is gone because we’ve been chucked away all the advantages we’ve been given.

Stephen

Yeah, even if we can beat them at the weekend I still won’t be particularly confident in winning the league. Miss too many chances to end up with the better goal difference. I just don’t think this group of players have the belief that they can do it.

Graham Roy

Very staunch Andy less crosses and more shotties! 😂

Billy McCormack

Come back to me on Saturday if I'm wrong then, but I'm not, if you want to be 2nd best to that pedo lot across the city then that's your perogative.

Billy McCormack

I lost my spirt with this shower of shit a long time ago, too much scar tissue, I'm fed up being 2nd to they scumbags across the city and they'll over take us, 2nd best is fucking mediocre and we've been that way for far too long.

Some people have talked themselves into believing that Lundstrum is the reason we’ve lost form. It’s not. I think the support is split on him like they are with most of this squad. About two months ago they weren’t, so it’s probably because we’ve lost form as a team, not because of one player. I think we need to look under the hood a bit more, and understand there’s a lot more to it. Personally, I don’t care what we think, because I care more about what the manager wants. He handed us a bit of silverware, y’know those big shiny things that make us a big club, and has worked wonders with this squad to give them a chance of contesting a title. Clement deserves the right to overrule what the support want and say that he needs someone at the club. Rangers isn;t a democracy, it’s a business and that’s why the club hires professionals. I think we need to take a step back sometimes and realise the club doesn’t revolve around you or me, but round what the bets decision is according to the people in charge. Money will ultimately dictate what happens in the summer. One thing we need to remember, is that if the team can win at Parkhead then they still have to go to Rugby Park. They don’t like playing there.

Spoon

100% he’s our flat track bully, bossing a team with 10 men doesn’t cut it. I fully accept that he played pretty well yesterday, I acknowledge he can have spells in games where he does good things but it’s not often enough and he doesn’t perform highly enough domestically. He was still dropping back in between CBs and doing his 10 yard pass to me and I will pass back nonsense which just slows us down. Your Spot on he controls the pace Andy but half the time he needs to up his own not put it in reverse. Like the others mentioned it’s just time for something new, he is a decent player but he’s not. In my own opinion, some irreplaceable lynch pin. Love Clement since he came in but if there are any concerns I have at all about him it’s his talking up of guys like Lundstrum, hopefully it’s good man management and PR but if he believes that we base a team around that style of play from our CM I would be worried. I will say that Lundstrum at least took shots from distance yesterday and if he did that more and went back less I would happily keep him.

Gary Brown

And no angles or freeze frames showing players entering the box either, unlike a few weeks back when Scott Wright's 2nd layer of boot polish was deemed to have encroached!

Vanb bryceter

I always believed we could beat anyone. I think its symtomatic of this group that we are on the cusp of glory but when we play we want to win but expect the clusterfucls that keep happening. We won by a good score but somehow it feels like its delaying the inevitable. I thought i was in the minority but that goal apart from Borna waving a leg to stop the cross lies firmly at Butlands door and by the way not for the first time either. Ive got a feeling we get a result on Saturday purely based on the law of averages and we still chuck it away probably against Hearts.

Alastair McGeoch

Do I “believe” we can get a result next week? Not with this group of players. I wouldn’t try and go toe to toe, I would dust of the “Wattinacio” and go 4-5-1, break the game up, and try and deflate the stadium. Get that crowd howling in frustration, make it a battle and then look to step onto the game in the second half and nick a goal. Games like that need an unlikely hero…who’s it going to be?!

chris smith

The first VAR … the ball hit his arm which was at 90 degrees from his body.

Douglas Innes

Tav is shit out of luck and worse out of confidence he needs to do what's best for the team and a captain should know that

Alan Weir

We can only hope Clement’s effusive public support for the likes of Lundstram and Goldson is him being diplomatic. If he genuinely believes we can get another year out of Connor or another contract out of Lunny, then we do have problems.

Alan Weir

Gregg

Share the thoughts on Lundstrum - think we need someone else just because they are someone else. He gets a hard time but he has had no support/ rest due to poor recruitment. What is happening with Raskin - does the manager just not rate him?

Ryan McMillan

As easy as it is to say it’s the “usual suspects”. The real usual suspect is how shite we’ve been at recruiting forwards. The difference having a striker that you know they fear would change everything for us.

Ian w

Regarding Dessers, I also saw him biting back at the manager and was surprised because he didn't hold back. Wonder what the reaction would have been if it was Cantwell who reacted in that manner.

David Whyte

Andy is spot on about our attitude towards going for a treble, the squad need to believe

Bill Jones

Get big Marvin in to instill belief in them

Nikky Cairney

Good pod guys. Nearly crashed the car when I heard Barry Ferguson and John Lundstram in the same sentence 👀 He can’t get a new deal, he’s not good enough even in games like yesterday. We need an improvement. So many times Diomande makes angles for passes and Lundstram takes so long to move the ball that the pass isn’t on and he inevitably goes sideways or back to a centre half.

Bryan Watson

I think if we win on Saturday we'll win this league genuinely. I know a lot of folk want Sterling in the middle but I think he has to play RW for me because him vs Taylor is a physical mismatch and he can get back and help Tav deal with Maeda. Needs to be Raskin and Dio in the middle too, Lundstram has 0 interest in actually being a proper midfielder last few months and has resorted to sitting on our CBs toes which effectively leaves Diomande as a 1 man midfield. We will get a chasing if Lundstram starts and does his usual. Raskin's passing gives me major worries but we need tenacity and energy in there to stand a chance

Angus Mackay

Dead Ringer For Love was the Meat Loaf and Cher song, Davie. Banging tune.

Gregg

We need to have confidence to give dio the ball even when he’s marked. Bit like kamara he has the confidence and ability to keep it

Gregg

We aren’t starting raskin mate - he’s no had a look in

William Hughes

I always want my centre forward hitting the penalties. With VAR, this it's down to interpretation is where it falls down. Installed to get the big decisions right. It's not the case as long as you throw in interpretation.

Gregg

A lot of football rules are that way - you could have a more clear ruling for something like handball but if you don’t think the big decisions are getting called right - isn’t it not the referees as opposed to VAR that’s the issue? If they are still making mistakes with it - you can multiply that by 3 or 4 at least if we’d to bin it

William Hughes

Think they'll double down with VAR. The penalty rules need tightening up, not open to interpretation. At the minute, 5 people think one way, 5 the other. Eventually, possibly a few years from now, but any handball in the box will be a penalty. The games already being re-refereed. Goal celebrations are being curbed because every detail from a phase of play is being analysed. The games for me are becoming sterile and some unwatchable. When did winning the ball become a bad thing? Now, you run the risk of a possible yellow or even red card. Or, maybe I'm just a grumpy old so and so.

Jamiedfa

Turn Back Time is another one for your Cher playlist 😁

Billy McCormack

Aye they showed it today didn't they, I was fucking right, why people have faith in these players is beyond me, they're fucking shite, but as usual oh show some faith show the battle fever, fuck that, we are 2nd best again to a bunch of Pedos, if your happy with that then we'll never win anything again!
