Alan Cowan

Already looking forward to similar next season NOT

chris smith

Failure all round. Not entirely unexpected.

james whyte

Dont turn up when its needed. Get going when its all but gone. Bottle things as soon as we get top of the Lge. Underdog mentallity. Too many at the Club comfortable being 2nd. Gigantic summer.

Allymac1980

Jack butland motm! Wrong starting line up and wrong substitutions

Scott Corral

Not surprised by today’s scenario. Same players doing the same things against them. For how much I rate the manager he got plenty wrong today, Lawrence in a midfield 3 at parkhead. Strange

Gary Shaw

12 of the last 11 games have followed the exact same pattern…they look brighter, fitter, more energetic and pop it around us and go a goal or 2 up only for us to muster a wee rally….that is pure psychological,no two ways about it….and the 1 game it didn’t happen was in a dead rubber….Absolute bottle merchants, every last one of them.

David Baillie

If I was the manager I would be telling Lundstrum to come into the training ground on Monday, pick up your kit, thanks for your efforts and goodbye. No way should he be playing in the final.

Rona Bluebell

Fair play to you all for doing this today. Not something I’d want to do. It may not feel like it but it is appreciated

Tamus

Who was the worse Captain James Tavernier or Edward Smith? Ps John Lundstrum is a stroker

David Hanlon

The truth be told is that 3 players out of our starting line up would make it into a very poor celtic team. Get the rest away to fuck, not good enough, same mentality every time against celtic. Forget about the cup final we don't have the mentality to beat celtic.

Michael Adamson

Ludstram disgraced the jersey today. Performance of a charlatan.

Luke

Just away to listen to this but I wanted to say and I hope it's addressed in the pod. Last 15 Celtic giving it away and have clearly got anxiety building about the last 10 mins. We have the ball alot. Now name me one chance we created? How many times is it launched to kemar roofe and I even remember a long ball to Ross mccausland. This team has zero creativity. But it's not been this season, the last few have been the same. Also how easy was it for McGregor to do a little one two and have so much space Infront of him . How many times does James Forrest do his one and only move of cutting inside to have at least 10 yards of free space. End the talk about Lawrence , he doesn't turn up in these games. Cantwell not getting on says it all. Oh and special mention to Scott wright for doing his usual running about a bit without doing anything and collecting a wage. Could say the same for them all but I'm fed up of seeing Scott wright because we all know he won't do anything other than "run aboot abit"

John Smith

Whole season comes down to the final

Paul

Fed up of Clement going on about how far we've come. We were second when he arrived and here we are still stuck in second. He still hasn't won an OF game and hasn't shown anything different to get us over the line. What are his tactics, style of play(long ball?), anyone? Yes, but wait until he signs his own players... We've all been here before. Football doesn't work like that, one season bleeds into the next.

Gregg

Sadly they didn’t learn in game - so much space 20 yards out for Celtic players to get shots off. Players continually not doing the 5/10 yards to track runners. Inexcusable really - surely the manger had to spot this. Gifted goals against them (again). Anyone know why souttar was hooked - seems strange if you are going to sit deep

Ross Thomson

Lundstrum was a disgrace. Hopefully that's his last game.

Alan Weir

We have a team of mediocrity in terms of skill, passing, finishing and defending. It’s also astonishing that in today’s squad we don’t have one single player who can run fast - absurd for a professional football team.

Scott

Absolutely scunnered with this group of players, Clement got the line-up wrong again today.

Doug Young

Outfield team should be built around Sterling. More heart than at least six other players.

Angus MacDonald

Been a few selections now from the manager that concern me. When I saw Lawrence and Lundtstram both starting couldn’t believe it, no legs there at all. That aside lundstram was an embarrassment today. They were for the taking but once he went was impossible. He and barisic shouldn’t be starting, don’t think they will again now. Massive summer for us. Hopefully manager gets his type of players whatever they are as some of his selections particularly last 2 v them have been a concern.

Luke

Surely we are at the point were we play Sterling in his natural position? If he is a right back, he should be playing right back. Hampering the development of one of the players who actually gives a shit is not going to end well.

Ryan Baistow

Fair play for putting this out lads. Might be a few days before I can listen to it

Ally Mair

Clement picked wrong team why he persisted with Lundstrum for this long baffles me the guy has been an empty jersey and today was a disgraceful performance from him , and if we are to have any chance in cup final we need to stop giving this fucking mob a goal or two of a start , criminal again

Rob Whiteford

FrIghtening that we were offering Lundstram a new deal. Absolutely terrifying.

Doogz

Lundstram was an embarrassment, and that should be last time we see him in a Rangers team. Tom Lawrence gave the ball away at least 3 times in first half when we were in promising positions, not good enough needs moved on in summer. Continually shoot ourselves in the foot v them time after time. Need hope get Sima fit for the final, and Clement needs to nail them.

stefan strzelecki

Well said David. John Lundstrum , along with others, only responded when we went 2-0 down. It was that adrenaline that contributed to his red card. Tav switches off at the second goal , the majority of the team , didn’t display a desire to take the game to them , until we were 2-0 down.

Pondo Sinatra

Let Celtic score first. ✅ Score an own goal. ✅ Get a man sent off. ✅ Concede a penalty. ✅ 😳

Derek Vine

How many of this team do you want starting next season… Butland Ridvan Diomande Sterling They’re the only 4 I’d like to see start next season. Soutter, Lawrence, Raskin and Cantwell; I’d say stay but really it’s a fire sale and start again. Love to see Sima and Cortes still here but depends on the £. They’d be starters. Tav and Goldson can go, especially if we get Saudi money, but can go without it. Barisic, Jack, Roofe and Lundstrum can go. McCausland isn’t good enough. It’s quite fucking scary!

Alan Weir

To exacerbate the weakness, it was Celtic’s two best players we were allowing to have pot shots at the goal.

John Breen

Starting to doubt the manager has what it takes to succeed. Tactics were shocking and didn’t do anything about it. Poor team selection to boot

Alan Weir

There doesn’t seem to be “legs” anywhere in the squad. Slow and ponderous seems to be the norm.

Graeme Dempster

Diamande looked like another kamara imo.

Brian

Why do we not press there CB's?! They panic at the slightest of pressure but we let them travel 30-40 yards without any kind of pressure every fucking game

Heart and Hand

We have no pace or mobility. We started today with a spine including Lundstram, Lawrence and Dessers, none of whom can run. It’s chronic.

David Bold

I started losing faith in the manager when he was gushing over Lundstrum. He was basically saying that the majority of Rangers fans are clueless if they think this guy isn't a top player. Listening to him praise Lundstrum after that was a huge red flag for me. Team selection, regardless of injuries etc, was awful once again. I may be in the minority, but the clock is now ticking for this manager. I also question the recruitment in January.

Delgers

Shitebags doing shitebag things whilst playing shite!!!

John stoddart

No ball carriers but also we can’t get the ball to stick up front it doesn’t let us get up the pitch and the ball is lost quick and ends up back at our box

Paul

Anyone who saw Lundstram's pre-match interview would have realised he didn't believe a word he was saying. Yet the manager still wanted to reward this guy with a new contract. Definitely alarm bells are ringing.

Neil Wilson

Nothing has changed. The quality of the squad isn't good. We have been needing a thorough revamp for at least a few years. Listening to Clement post match comments on RTV, Souttar was injured. I can understand putting Sterling at centre back as a quick, agile player to attempt to negate the slide rule passes they often play. Especially with 10 men. At the minute, it looks like Butland, Sterling, Diomande and Cortes are the only players in the starting lineup for next season. The rest is available.

Simon H&H

Two poor sides. We just don’t have it in us

Gregg

He’s hardly like to say he’s shite or average though is he? He played very well for a decent chunk of the season - however the fact we haven’t pushed the boat out to keep him maybe suggests where he was seen going forward. I would probably have picked a slightly different side but we also have to recognise the fact that we have extremely limited options due to injuries (4 forward players missing) and poor recruitment. If we had a stacked squad and he picks that team - call him out

David Innes

If he doesn’t win the Scottish cup he’ll be starting next season on a shoogly peg but getting rid of him won’t make a difference as our problems as a club run much deeper

Simon

What I can’t shake and take personally is Callum McGregor laughing in our players faces the whole game. Un-fucking-acceptable. I’m aiming that at our players btw for allowing one of them to ridicule us.

David Innes

I’d add Danilo to the list but knowing our luck he’s going to be the new Kemar Roofe

Colin

The sad thing for me as mentioned is as long as we do not get pumped by then that is seen as ok , and as said include myself in this , what a sad state we are in , even for this old bugger who lived through 1970 and 1980 's🤣

Simon Botterill

What has happened with Clement and Raskin, sort it out, Lunstram completely broken. Injuries have killed us, need a complete overhaul. As for that penalty decision, unbelievable corruption

David Innes

Celtic fans celebrated the 2nd like we would a goal against St Mirren. Not one of them went into that ground with the slightest doubt they were going to see anything other than a routine win

James Cameron

They may have a poor team and we have a team that has a rotten core that needs removed. If we lose the cup final Clement will start the same position as Beale next season

MARK DRIVER

I Hope Lundstrum never wears the shirt again, let’s us down far to often in big games, pathetic from him today

Nathan

Aye, they're not vastly superior to us in a footballing sense. But we need to accept now, even at the basics, they edge it over us enough that we can't fkn beat them.

Roderick Boyle

We don’t have a midfield that can control a game or drive the team forward , no creativity at all .

Uganda Loyal

How many times have we seen Barisic put in that same performance at Parkhead? Hard to watch.

Nathan

That's what's so inexcusable imo. Let's be honest, we've been watching this shite for years and years

Colin mckiddie

Souttar was injured. Clement said in his post match interview

David Innes

Hopefully he gets a 3 game ban. He went into that challenge knowing full well he could get sent off because he didn’t fancy it

Andy MacArthur

You could tell within the opening half an hour that the team had no belief or fight. Bar Butland or Sterling I wouldn’t give many pass marks. Lundstrums tackle was one of a frustrated player who was unable to keep up with the pace of the game. These games are usually won or lost in midfield and sadly our midfield lacks so much quality in comparison to them (Diomande aside). Big summer again, and up against a side we have gifted champions league money to. It’s an uphill task and right now I don’t have much optimism. Dreading the final if we can’t get Ridvan and Sima back. Raskin has to play every game now until end of the season.

David Bold

I didn't want him to say he was shite or average. I also did not want him to purposely single him out for praise when he knows how the majority of Rangers fans feel about him and how we would react. Best saying nothing. Lundstrum has played like he has every other season and one of the many reasons Celtic continues to dominate Scottish football. I see no great difference between Beale & Clement at this stage. Clement comes across better and is way more likeable. However, similar results on the park when it really matters.

David Innes

Did you notice Silva having a laugh with O’Reilly when he was waiting to take the pen? Another one who shouldn’t be allowed to wear the shirt again

Mr J K Murray

suffer from a beguilement of tactics which represent the capability of this team, it is not that this team is innocently caught out but are willing to be seduced continually, they won with a comedy own goal not skill, thats happend a few times in this fixture lately, even with new tactical players, a centre forward that can do more than ''will'' he score, need players that want to play with each other, need CL monies but theres a 50/50 glad we are not as we would are way off this mark, even though its a cup competition, not being there live one is swayed by the commentary even if it is wrong & use of camra's as they are the first you see & not ones own eyes, ref gave a yellow, jonhston told to stay on the deck as it was being var reviewed ect,the red, but the ref gave a pen, when a 50/50 var thought it was not a pen, lol, 10 men & own goal lol

Simon

Simon, I’ve defended Tav for years but it’s time for him to move on.

David Innes

We’re back to where we were at the end of last season. There’s not much between the teams but there’s enough

David Herd

We can kid ourselves about Celtic hanging on at the end. But the truth is they scored first again. They won the battle again. And they are champions again. And to be honest, most of the second half they didn't need to break sweat. Lose the cup final and the manager is under pressure, no matter how well he did for a while. And surely to God we never see Lundstram again, that red card was utter stupidity.

David Bold

I just feel we are not that better off than this time last season. If we stick with any of these supposedly leaders in the dressing room next season, the manager will be gone before Xmas. Get them all out.

Stephen

Did you expect him to finish first when he signed? I would wait to allow him to bring in his own players. Sacking our manager every season clearly isn’t a strategy that works. The squad he has had to work with is awful. If we sack him the next guy is going to want to bring in his own players too so don’t really see the point in not allowing Clement to do it

Simon

Flip side David is I thought Silva played his best game for us probably our best outfield player today along with Dujon. For context, I wanted him hung, drawn and quartered after the last OF game and have despised him every subsequent game until today. You’re right though, he was being pally with those fuckerz

Steve Clark

Souttar was taken off at half time with an injury.

Gregg

Lundrstum was playing well up until a month ago and to say otherwise is receny bias - by the way I think it’s time for him to move on. The manager was continually asked about him in press conferences because of his contract situation - saying nothing wasn’t an option. Thought raskin done okay today - hopefully he can push himself forward now

Paul

I didn't no. But when he is in a position to win the league I expect him to do so. He's overseen the collapse and chosen to stay loyal to the same group who have failed time and time again. He wants to give Lundstram a new contract ffs. We sack managers when there is a reason to do so. This is modern football

Jim McCutcheon

He has got a tune out o a bad squad but the failings are still there, today again showed up the poor quality we have imo ,

Jamie Robb

If you look at the last few months at Sheffield united for lundstram it’s almost a carbon copy of the last 2-3 months (or the majority of his Rangers career to be honest) lazy and uninterested. For a so called senior leader to put in that kind of performance and not for the first time is a disgrace

Angus Mackay

I agree with most of this. A pathetic performance by Senderos I could excuse because he just wasn’t very good; Lundstram today was different - that was a betrayal. A betrayal of a manager who’s supported him, his teammates, the fans snd the shirt. It’s now what he’ll be remembered for here and I never want you to see him wear the shirt again. He stank the team out and they actually played better without him. Everyone can see what’s wrong with the team but the manager needs time to build his own team. Already the cup final and the beginning of next season are having far too much emphasis placed on them. We talk about the team’s inability to learn, but sadly we as a support are exhibiting the very same trait.

Ross Fisher

Soon as seen Lawrence we starting I lost hope he’s like a man down in games like this. Don’t want to see him or Lundstram play for us again.

Gazza G

The long overdue end of the Leadership Group?. Manager needs to get his shit together asap.

Stephen

The collapse came after the transfer window closed so he couldn’t change the group of players he had. There is nothing on the bench or in the b team that is any better than the players he used today. Problem with sacking managers all the time is good managers will look at that and be put off because it as they know they won’t get a proper chance to build something. No coincidence Gerrard took 3 seasons to get it right.

David Bold

He had his usual purple patch. He should not have been in the team after Ross County, and certainly not after Dundee. That performance today is one of the worst individual performances I have seen from a Rangers player v Celtic. Let's not forget, he intentionally got himself sent off. The manager still praised him. Agreed on Raskin. I want to see him start the next 3. We need to know if there is a player there.

Ryan Stewart

Got to honest I don’t subscribe to the Celtic don’t have better players than us argument. They absolutely do. Carter Vickers, McGregor, Hatate, O’Riley and Kyogo are all a level above anything we have in those positions. And these are the areas where these games are won and lost, both boxes and in midfield. Our midfield in particular has been an absolute mess in these games ever since Gerrard left basically. Every game we gift them at least one goal and we are toothless in attack

Hendi

The manager's selections and continual dishonesty towards us, in defending the indefensible, calls in to question his judgement. Massive red flags already.

Derek MacMillan

Manager picked the wrong team and we are getting on the wrong side of being a long ball team as opposed to direct. Cup final needs a serious rethink as this set up isn't working in the big games.

Gregg

He didn’t intentionally get himself sent off in my view - he had a rush of blood to the head after we got a goal back and adrenaline pumping. Just my view.

Mr J K Murray

they are not much better though, as the last results state under Clem with -players bought by basket ball coaches, hic

Allan Osborne

The biggest indictment of this team is no one is surprised anymore when we turn in these tepid, insipid and frankly fear of them driven performances anymore, and I for one can't wait to see the back of most of them. No one will ever convince me Lundstram didn't want sending off after the OG because he knew what would be coming his way, and that should be it for him as a Rangers player. Out with that brief spell leading up to Seville and perhaps November and December last year he's been a very poor signing, and all that on massive (for us) wages. The manager really needs to win the cup final or he's going to be under massive pressure next season. I still think he's the right man but no manager these days survives a long run of not winning these games when they matter. It also worries me that he was so keen on keeping Lundstram.

Gordon Millar

The point on how immobile our midfield are, is so apparent to the support why not the management team....I still back this manager, but he has shown that he has blind spots and that has sacked the 2 previous managers....which is a concern. I despair at the poor excuse we now call Rangers players, I was spoiled in being able to witness what attributes a Rangers player needed to have in the period from the mid 80's to 2011, these players are a massive step down in quality as footballers and as men!

Chaz Laird

How Clement can have this love in with Lundstram when he’s coached the likes of Tchouaméni is baffling!

Alastair McGeoch

Initially, I was slating the manager for his team selection but having thought about it he’s probably thought he needs Sterling on the right side to support Tav against Maeda which then meant no Sterling in midfield. Which then leaves us with Lundstrum. Lawrence? Well Cantwell showed in previous game at Parkhead he doesn’t have the discipline to do the press and support Dessers. Barisic? If Ridvans a gamble so be it. The issue is, the squad lacks quality all over the pitch and he’s worked wonders sticking band aids all over the squad but the truth is we have a squad riddled with bang average players who frankly do not have the mentality required to be a Rangers player. Which we knew back in October when Beale got the bullet.

Paul

I think that is just the way of football now mate. Nobody gets time. Just the way it is and why they command a big salary. I'm not calling for his head, I'm just saying I'm seeing things that concern me. Unfortunately what happens this season will play a big part on how we see him as a manager next season. The fact he sees Lundstram as his main man along with the usual suspects is utterly terrifying

Stace1ofthePeople

I'm not going to start spewing rage or negativity because I think we all know what needs to change and I think deep down 80% of the fan base knew we fucked it over the last 6 weeks worth of results. What's annoying is us constantly giving celtic an easy ride. The red card done us today. More or less lost it there and then was always gonna be a struggle. Bit ffs the OG, penalties and goals we GIFT them is un fucking believable. It's quality and mentality. Thankfully it's the end of season we cam focus on rebuild hwg . SCF starting 11 must be different. Can't keep playing the same team

Alan Thomson

I’ve said for weeks now that Lundstram shouldn’t be anywhere near that starting line up!!!!

Stephen Miller

I’d be outside the gates of the top European clubs and picking up the youngsters they release at the end of the season for a trial. We need to lower the age of the squad, reduce unavailable players due to injury and make the starting XI more athletic. I’ll be glad to see the back of some of these senior pros and deadwood within the squad, excited for another rebuild because I have nothing left in the tank now for these players bar half a dozen.

Alan Thomson

Surely u start with ur strongest possible starting line up!!!

Steffen McAndrew

All the top teams these days press hard and fast, high up the pitch. Is it because we don't have the type/quality of player to do this?

stephen

I don't think we can play 433 in the cup final, I really don't think we have the personnel, but do we have the time to change it????

Mike Sim

I'd be telling him his boots are in the post. Doesn't deserve to be anywhere near Auchenhowie or Ibrox again after that shitshow.

Graham Ross

Bang on Kev with the dark arts. Feck, we even help their players when down with cramp.

KennyY

Despite the shit state Beale left us in, Big Phil got us back a bit of pride and gave us some hope. The reality is though that the squad have scars so deep that they didn’t have the bottle for the fight. Today feels a bit like a death in the family. Rangers is everything.

Mike Sim

When will we get a manager that realises the key to the filth games are the midfield battle?? Infuriating watching us getting run over time and time again.

Billy Forrester

Gutted but not deflated. Lundstrum can just go now, a sad end to his rangers career. We will beat them cup final, they are bang average and we are better if we keep 11 on the park

Stephen

It’s a tough one because we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. Maybe he just speaks highly of Lundstram to try and keep him motivated, maybe Ryan Jack would have played more instead of him if he had been fit or he wanted to sign Lundstram on a new contract but with much less money as a squad player? At least now I would imagine it is less likely Lundstram will stay

Ally Mair

Was it silva (not sure) that was helping Johnstone with his cramp ! Fuck me these Celtic players hate us the sooner we get some bastards back into this team the better , put me into that cup final team and I’d have mcgregor into the air in the 1st minute , where’s the fight where’s the dig to many just accept 2nd best

Allan Airth

The last comment regarding hoping they (Celtic) don’t invest has been the same mindset for the last six seasons at least. Living in fear of who they bring in is a fucking disgrace. Fundamental issues with how decisions are made at a high level at the club. The manager may have had a bad day but it ain’t his team. Decisions surrounding player sales/recruitment are the main issue. Barasic deserved to have his contract terminated after the Liverpool performance. Lundstrum can simply fuck off. Goldson and Tav need to be moved on. Or Tav stripped on the captaincy at the very least. Investment in leaders all over the pitch required. None of this is new information.

Sandy White

Does anyone realize that Dessers only touched the ball 4 times in the entire game.

Martyn Dick

Kev saying he doesn’t care if he sees any of these players again (Butland excepted) So no Sterling? I know it’s pedantic but cmon to fuck

Scott Duncan

I’m concerned by Clement’s decision making before and during these games. He has enough credit in the bank but will burn through it quickly if he can’t put a team out to beat them (injuries do play a part I know). Cup final now so important.

John leitch

The damage was done with the Motherwell loss, the loss at Dingwall and the draw at Dundee The boss can only play with the squad that he has available We need rebuilt in the summer We shouldn’t be scared of our biggest rivals Mindset needs to change

Jamie

Gutless today but I bet they break the bank to stop JL going to Turkey

Bryan Watson

Disgraceful from the so called "leaders" today but entirely predictable as soon as the team was out. Its on the manager too, they have shown him who they are and he hasn't taken note so he deserves every ounce of criticism coming his way. Something thats really annoyed me today and I think perfectly illustrates what needs to change is that the entire club has accepted this total BS narrative that we need to go there and "weather the storm". Utter pish. Lundstram sounded terrified in his pre match interview and it showed in his performance. Its creeped into common consensus on here as well as across other Rangers media that we need to weather a storm first and its utter nonsense. Why can we not take the game to them from minute 1? Why do we need to survive the first 20 mins instead of playing our game? I feel that perfectly encapsulates the difference in mentality from the 2 sides because when they come to Ibrox they come to play their football, impose themselves and win. It seems both players and fans have accepted we should go there, see if we don't get blown away in the first half hour then chance our luck to get a result. Stuck in this never ending cycle that will conclude when the same sorry losers show Clement the door round about November 2024 unless Clement/Koppen can break the mould and see this losers out the door

Jamie

Who’s the black chap no 9 in B team? He’s a boss inside the box - promote him this season

Al Robert

Listening to Clements post match interview he says that Souttar was injured for the sub. Very strange to contradict what Sky were reporting. Sky giving out incorrect info or Clement saving face?

C. J

Bottlers. The senior pros need to go, now. Clement’s time is running out as well. He’s dire at managing big games. His lineups are awful.

DEREK DICKSON

Clement worked wonders with this squad No spine No captain No centre back No centre mid No centre forward Not much else either Disappointing not managing to lay a finger on an average celtic team

Paul

Maybe mate. I guess we'll find out in the weeks and months ahead. I hope he has listens and adapts otherwise we know how it ends

Scott McDougall

Disappointed by today’s performance but not surprised because our squad are a disgrace. As to those slating the manager, what’s he meant to do, he’s got an entire squad of bottle merchants and frauds. He’s picked what he thinks is the best of a dreadful bunch, don’t try and tell me Cantwell would’ve been a revelation today because he’d have been just as bad as the rest. Everyone in that squad are shit scared of Celtic and the sooner these shitbags are out the door the better. Never seen a Rangers team so devoid of fight and heart as I did today,

Alastair McGeoch

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. If we start next season with Tav, Goldson, Lundstrum, Lawrence, Cantwell around the club it will be another season of 2nd best. final 3 games are massive for Clement. He needs to stop spending the credit he has earned up to now on defending the likes of Lundstrum and show the fans he see what we see. He owes the players nothing now.

Iain watson

I've slagged man utd and their fans for years, accepting the crap that is served to them.....just realised we are the Scottish man utd, accepting pish every season and letting the board away with murder

Ryan Macdonald

But there won’t be. We’re a subservient loser fan base at this point. While this fan base accept these loser gimps then we’ll get all we deserve.

chris smith

We have a defence that cant defend, a forward line that doesnt score enough goals and a midfield that cant run, pass or tackle. I just hope that we have a manager who, deep down, knows this …

Nikky Cairney

Great pod guys. Agree with everything you said. Regarding Clement he got that ball wrong today and it’s really worrying for me going forward. Totally understand he has injuries and squad issues. But to select that midfield with the tactics today was a disgrace. The first half was the exact same as the game at Ibrox and for him to go again with that midfield today was shocking. Also getting worried about his style of play (or lack of). We literally go back to front in every away game and play for second balls. Our midfield isn’t great but he’s clearly instructing the defenders to go long. Scottish cup final is massive for him and if he goes again with the same set up as today and fails then I honestly think I’d start to question him moving forward.

John Davidson

Didn't watch it because I already knew the outcome. Enjoyed my day in the sun all the more.

Nom De Ploom

I'm surprised anyone expected anything different from Lundstram. He never shows up against them & that certainly wasn't going to change today. Tbh, as well as he's done to keep us in it, the managers team selections & favourites has me concerned for next season.

David Kiltie

I am not so sure they are fitter. Despite being a man up for fully half the game they didn’t add to their lead and were hanging on at the end, albeit we created very little.

Gary Shaw

When they miss a penalty and 2/3 chances,it’s only human nature they start getting nervous…Most teams do apart from the elite…When everything is equal (from the start of the game) they are better in every department…..2 wins in 18 for us and one of them being a dead rubber should tell you its own story.

Heart and Hand

It’s Sterling never getting a game in a walking pace midfield that worries me. What he thought Lawrence would bring today baffles me.

Paul

Has he started him CM since the Aberdeen final? I'm bemused like you. He's also ran players into the ground, not the biggest McCausland fan but he was playing him every week when his form had clearly dipped. Lundstram was also blowing out of his arse for weeks and was never dropped.

Mr J K Murray

midfield was like awaiting for the time bob dylan went electric, hic, pressure on the manager for the cup

Ally Mair

Totally agree, they come to our place with no fear and at times dictate the play from the off , we go there with the mindset of hopefully get to half time still in it …..pathetic , the best way to shut their moronic support up is to do what they do to us on a regular basis and score first

Ally Mair

I’d have sterling and raskin in the middle along with cantwell for the cup final , we need dig , fight and energy in there otherwise we will see the same result

George Higgins

Thought the line up was wrong and game turned on the red. Apart from those two (admittedly massive) moments we were no worse than them.

Douglas Innes

If what the manager says is the truth about the HT sub it doesn't say much about Leon King going forward the tv camera panned round the Rangers bench towards the end of the game and ita fair to say he didn't look too happy

Ryan Stewart

Totally agree. Sterling is a guy we should be building our team around. Not fitting him in wherever there is a gap.

John O'Neill

This Celtic team are dreadful but they are far better than us! Embarrassing performance from us yet again

Andrew Mathieson

This is why managers shouldn’t take on underperforming top end expectation sides midseason. They are lumbered with an underachieving side, who obviously get managers the sack. Receive limited time, resources and chance to repair the damage. They may get a bounce they may even make significant strides but unless they perform the miraculous the chances are they are going to be tainted by the near inevitable failure. If we do not win the SC Final and maybe even if we do, Phil will be under immense pressure to produce immediately with a newly rebuilt likely young squad.

Chris Graham 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Understand this may just be the way I feel now at 9:50pm after trying to calm down for the last 6 hours But I do not see this getting better in the next calendar year They will not make the same transfer gambles in the summer and Roger’s will be gurenteed a better level to add to his mix Am honestly heartbroken at the fucking state of us I see no magic , pace , shape or trickery to get after teams What are we doing at achenhowie Can anyone tell me they see something I can’t please ??? We have absolutely no shape or pace to what we are doing it’s loose , open and so wasteful How many long balls 20-40-50 ??

Ally Mair

The problem is that us fans will go to the cup final still believing we can win …….unfortunately the players won’t

Gary Shaw

I agree with everything apart from the bit about them adding a better level….Their fans will be having the same talk they have after every transfer window…they are average but a better level than us but I don’t see us getting much better unfortunately.

Gary Shaw

We weren’t worse than them???? You watching the same game?…Everything they did was better 🤦‍♂️

George Higgins

So the fact we scored an own goal and played half the game apart with 10 v 11 means nothing ? They were better because they had those advantages. I’m as pissed off as you are but taking everything into account we were not dominated by them the second half was 0-0.

Angus Mackay

TBF, while I agree with the need for athleticism, Sterling's touch can be pretty erratic and he tends to create turnovers, which can quickly become fatal in OF games.

JimGLW

Im so glad that you called Lundstram out for what he is

David Baillie

Totally agree Ally. I’ve been making the same point on the pod for long and weary. There are not enough players in this squad who really appreciate what it is to play for Rangers. We need bastards.

Doug

My silver linings take is this. It hurts so much because we dragged ourself so close, as close as we’ve been since 55. But if we look at where we were when Beale left we’re no worse off, in fact I’d argue we’re in a better position. We already knew we needed more players. We already knew some older ones needed to go. Where once Dessers & Lammers looked like useless money drains, now one is a 21 goal a season striker & the other looks like we’ll recoup a fair value on. The management has improved & the scouting on its early showings seems to have improved. We can only hope that these improvements continue over the summer & into the new season. Heads up tomorrow. There’s still a double to be won.

Brian Rae

Having had a few hours to reflect, I'm not even angry anymore. The season can't finish quick enough now as I'm done with this squad and just want to see the majority go. IMO, we simply must have a clear out of about 80-90% of that squad. The manager certainly shouldn't be immune to criticism but in reality, he really has been fighting with one and sometimes two hands behind his back. He inherited a complete shit show, (remember away in Cyprus?) and he steadied the ship and gave us a glimmer of hope when all was lost in September. This is a massive rebuild job that starts for real in a few weeks. Our team is broken and if you think about it, what other successful team relies on their right back to be the main creator, playmaker, source of goals and set piece expert? None, nil, not a single fucking one. This isn't about bashing Tav, it's about highlighting the mismanagement and inadequacy of our recruitment and squad. This summer, we need defenders who can defend, technically proficient, physical midfielders with pace and vision. Wingers who score as well as create and clinical strikers who can hold the ball up. It will cost money and frankly, I don't care how much because if we are serious about player trading, it costs serious money to implement. I think some believe that player trading means you get players for nothing and flip them for profit, that isn't usually the case. It costs even more when you've allowed your youth academy to be run by a total gobshite imposter for several years before finally waking up to that fact. We need to go after top talent and offer them an immediate pathway to first team football that they wouldn't get at an elite club. I've heard that we need to add pace mentioned a lot and it's certainly valid but I would add that our technical level must be improved as outwith mentality, that's their main advantage over us. David, will the board now finally realise that they cannot flog a dead horse any longer? I genuinely don't think the support will tolerate another botched summer window. I certainly won't.

George Higgins

But they didn’t and it’s goals that count. They are not a great team. Neither are we but stop trying to make out they’re world beaters

CAMPBELL DAVIDSON

Spot on as always. The manager needs to realise that he can’t be here and fail to do it against that mob indefinitely. It was blindingly obvious that midfield was wrong for today and if couldn’t see that, it’s a worry. The one crumb of comfort - if there is any - is that surely we realise now, if we didn’t already, that this squad needs properly gutted in the summer. Actually can’t wait to see the back of a lot of them, particularly Lundstram.

Heart and Hand

The board know they made a howling arse of the summer, which is why Clement and Koppen are here. But that doesn’t mean they’ll get everything right this summer unfortunately.

Alan Spiden

As my mother used to say when things were going wrong on a regular basis, “I’m scunnered “. Not one of the 20 or so fellow bears with whom I watched the game today thought it would go any way other than it did. We lost, in the most predictable way, to an exceptionally average Celtic team who were there for the taking this season. I’m sick of finishing behind them and I’m now at the “burn it down and start again” stage with our squad. I can’t contemplate the thought of seeing half of those players turning out for us again. The fact that this is probably a carbon copy of that which I wrote at this time last season says more than any words.

C. J

Tavernier & Barisic bottled it in Seville. They made no progressive movements and constantly turned back to their centre halves. We have been doing the exact same thing since that night. They build out from the back with complete cowardice and without a total overhaul we will be second place for another decade.

David Booth

For the last few seasons, we have all got frustrated because it felt like we didn't compete physically with them in these games. Today our players, to be fair to them, did step up and try to. And fell way short of the standard required. Yes there were still the same mental frailties. Yes the quality at key moments wasnt good enough. But as a group they did do what we have all been saying is required to improve in the big games against them. Maybe it is time to just acknowledge this group of players aren't good enough.

Mark Wilson

The first goal is the blueprint for every goal we conceded Ball watching and not tracking the man

Simon Lewandowski

are we really at the point of saying the manager is under pressure already? ok he has lost two out of three old firm games but c'mon hes been dealt a shocking hand he has inherited a bunch of absolute losers of todays starting line up id keep butland, sterling and diomonde the rest...im done with

Bixby Snyder

Completely agree, Simon. If we had fallen further behind after he took over, then maybe it’s valid criticism. The players do not have the legs or mental toughness for a full season and it showed in the end.

Bixby Snyder

Watching it back, Silva was horrendous there. Watching the ball, not giving a fuck.

Tommy

Trying to keep it positive but I think Sterling is captain material. He’s dependable, he leads by example, he never hides and he puts in a performance every single time. I’ve got a feeling the armband won’t be available next season but whenever it is it’ll need to be his. No question.

James Anderson

Perhaps Souness was right about Lampard. Unless Clement recognises what we all know, Tav and Co will see off another manager.

Liam Johnson

I get people are impressed with Sterling due to his performances all over the park but we need to remember the amount of injuries he’s picked up when talking about building teams around him and making him captain

Jim Milne

Beales preseason was shocking. Gokdons started first game against Kilmarnock with ZERO preseason That said it shouldnt be a excuse to keep certain players.

Joe mitchell

Most worrying thing is Clement doesn't seem to be learning from these defeats against them . Everyone thought the way to go was putting sterling in the middle on & around McGregor as he's the only one with pace & athleticism , but no. Definition of madness & all that , baffling!!

David Kiltie

Two things have blighted us. Poor recruitment, going back to the 55 season, and issues with injuries and fitness levels, with 2 successive poor pre-seasons. At least the board has made 2 major appointments in Nils Koppen and Tom Taylor to address these specific issues. The fact we were bringing on Scott Wright and Kemar Roofe in order to salvage something yesterday tells its own sorry tale. On the issue of VAR, note Sutton’s mental gymnastics. With Lundstram’s foul he was praising the fact that Collum followed the VAR recommendation. With the penalty his line was “well done, Willie, for sticking to your guns”. Apropos the half time substitution, now that Clement has confirmed that Souttar was injured the decision seems less wild. The alternatives to putting Sterling at CB would have been using Leon King who has hardly played all season, or else trying a back 3. Sterling was missed in the middle of the park but the fact we didn’t concede any more goals must say something. Lundstram had a nightmare, for sure. Although everyone will be glad to see him go it is still sad for any player to leave the club under a cloud. Morelos did, and whilst that was down to his own stinking attitude it was still sad to witness. Kev pointed out that we keep players too long whilst that lot have been smarter in offloading players at the right time. This summer 6 players will leave OOC, similar to last year. After 55 was the moment to rebuild- we could have sold Kent, Kamara, Morelos and Barisic for serious money when their stock was high. As I understand it Gerrard demanded that the team stayed together, only for him to leave a few months later. This summer is looking a lot like the previous two.

David Kiltie

I agree, Doug. In a way the disappointment is greater this year, when we were able to make a challenge, than last year when we were simply not at the races. If we can pose a serious challenge up to the last week of the season despite the litany of mistakes and mismanagement that has blighted us in recent years then there is hope with a better pre season and wiser recruitment next season might bring a better outcome.

Chris Graham 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Had a fall out with a mate yesterday after the game as we do I criticised clement for the first time But honestly I am worried about our style of play Like yesterdays how many long balls and btw it’s not the first game we are a team of punt the ball hoofers under his watch Never seen a rangers side blast the ball to no cunt over and over

jason hart

Lunny was bad but I think you let Silva off the hook .. the boy has been average at best this season .. today he was a disgrace .. minimum effort work rate fight or heart shown .. that head opportunity.. murder ... then when he cut into box .. watch mudrk for chelses v Forrest.. finished with aplomb .. granted he's a 100 million transfer but Silva is allegedly a (cough) 35 million ex prem Sorry the boy is muck and I can't wait to see the back of him And don't get me started on the helping johnson with cramp or joking with oreily after penalty award .. what we are lacking is a leader to drive this desire and rangers standards into them Honestly me and 9 mates from pub could have put on a better show (obviously big jack is between the sticks) and it's a cert he'll f@ck off after playing with this mob .. and can you blame him

Nathan

Difference is, despite the price tag, Silva is a 21 yr old loan signing. He was meant to bring something to the attack, break down defences and add goals, and has clearly failed. However, Lundstram is one of the most experienced members of the squad. Part of the spine. Supposed to control the tempo, and certainly keep a cool head on occasions like this. Scores an OG and gets sent off within the first half of a theoretical title decider at parkhead. It's shambolic. And all of this is a symptom of the problem. These are the guys players like Silva have to look up to when they join the club. Team needs gutted.

jason hart

Totally agree mate ... lunny needs to go and go now .. raskin was superb when he came on Thing with Silva and I get your point is he may be young but he's talented (supposedly) like his fellow country man R7 .. a team looks to these players young or old to make a difference... and there's a big difference between a say young Ross whose came from youth set-up to a Silva who played internationally and in PL and has a massive price tag attached to him

Craig Cation

Just up and still raging. Optimisim that was there two months ago has quickly evaporated. The manager has some serious questions now. I'd hoped for at least a decent performance but in all three we've set up poorly shipped easy goals and looked shit scared. At least Gerrard had us fighting in these games we've been an embarrassment since.

Craig

If Clement does not get ruthless in the transfer window and bin these players then he will be getting sacked next season. The chat about Lundstram’s contract has gone quiet and he has clearly chucked it, I hope Clement decided to pull the offer!

Scott Kerr

Clement is at fault as much as the players. His treatment of some is dreadful, yet he keeps the same ones playing who we are know are awful. Manager doesn't get a pass from me. If he loses the cup final and first old firm game next season, he could be gone!!

Richard

Clement has 1 game left to save his neck.

Craig

Listening to the conversation about quality and I mentioned this on a thread on FF re differences in recruitment. O’Riley was bought from MK Dons and he was their best player yesterday and player of the season for them. MK Dons! What have we been doing with our recruitment!

Gregg

Clement has done well with a squad full of deficiencies - though we should have done better in the last few months. Both can be true at the same time. It would be interesting to know what he has learned - we seem to run out of steam at this stage of the season due to running players into the ground. Do we need to rotate players more to keep them fresh - is it better to have a fresher player in some games that you don’t think is quite as good as his replacement. I’m still fully behind the manager - regardless of the cup final. We need to move on from knee jerk reactions - we go from being massively high on managers to the opposite. Let’s see what the summer brings - the players he has targeted seem to be younger and more energetic which is exactly what we need.

Alastair McGeoch

On the comments about McGregor and the dark arts. It won’t change whilst Tavernier remains as captain. He’s you passive / meek in the high pressure moments and doesn’t do enough to look for any edge in a game. Look at the 2nd yesterday, we’ve just lost a goal, stands of Maeda instead of engaging him/even clattering him and meekly lets Maeda roll a cross right into the centre of our box for Lundstrum to calmly roll into our own net. Sterling wasn’t in the middle to try and prevent Maeda taking Tav to the cleaners, which left us light in midfield and even then Tav can’t prevent simple crosses into the box. We will not win the league again whilst Tav remain captain.

Scott Kerr

Colin saying they are poor league winners, is actually more annoying tbh. We can't beat them so that comment is pointless...they will lift the title and we won't

John Hutchison

I'm 100% behind Clement, but I was expecting something that shows us he's learned from previous games against them. When I saw the line up, I knew we were getting more of the same. That's the most disappointing thing for me as we are all well aware of the player's limitations.

scott skinner

Clement has had a lot of (deserved) credit since becoming manager, but he has to take a lot of the blame for that yesterday and serious alarm bells have begun to ring. The usual suspects let him down with their usual weak, characterless performances, but we could all see that the starting line-up would lead us to getting overrun in the midfield, which is exactly what happened. As awful as the first half was, I was more pissed off by the second half, starting with that ridiculous substitution. To then sit so deep for about 30 mins and play like it was some sort of training match where you're not allowed to attack was infuriating. We were playing like we were down to eight men - inviting wave after wave of attack. There seemed to be no real belief or desire to fight for a title - real diddy team mentality. This Celtic team are utterly mediocre, and for some reason, we keep treating them like Messi-era Barcelona.

KennyY

I seriously hope that the squad aren’t going to do a lap of honour on Tuesday after Dundee. They’ve let us all down from a position of strength with it all in their own hands. Second in a 2 horse race is nothing. Especially when the other horse is a donkey albeit with a bigger set of balls. Win us the Scottish Cup and you might be worth a moderate round of applause otherwise I genuinely don’t care if I don’t see half of them again.

Graham Roy

That is the biggest issue which in fairness board did take action at beginning of year. If we are still same next season then it’s failed. Yesterday is what this squad is I’m afraid we need freshness and energy. If we could shift 5 from that team yesterday outwith silva, borna and lundstrum then you would hope it gives manager some decent money to bring in players!

Gregg

Hopefully Hagi has a good euros and lammers hasn’t done his value any harm - we could get a few quid for both of them.

Bryan Watson

He hasn't learned lessons which is really concerning. These players have shown him who they are in the last 3 months especially Lundstram and he hasn't listened. The fact he played the least dynamic midfield we could put out despite the fact that same combo got their pants pulled down by Celtic only a month ago. Its also majorly concerning this sort of collapse happened with his Monaco team.

Gregg

Wasn’t the first time he did it and others too. Absolute basics

Billy Paterson

Rubbish. He's inherited a squad full of serial losers and we've had major injuries in crucial positions. We had 4 attacker's out yesterday. Sima, Cortes, Danilo and Matondo. All would have made us stronger. Not saying Matondo should've started but he'd have been good to bring on.

Billy Paterson

Jesus christ. The amount of our support that have turned on big PC is just crazy to me. He's inherited a terrible squad that also lack mobility, pace, strength and technical ability. Let's give the big man a chance and see how we look after the summer transfer window.

Gregg

We have a fair amount of roasters in our support and they tend to make the most noise

Paul

Serial losers that he likes. Happy to offer Lundstram a new contract. He isn't above criticism. He has continually played the same way against Celtic despite it not working. What is his style of play, tactics? Scott Wright starting etc. I like him and hope he succeeds however questions are right to be asked of him.

Derek Stevenson

Clement will get time but the time gets much shorter each team that mob beat us. He’s got blunt tools but he’s not learning & if anything doing the same OF things worse. Lose the final & heading to the Piggery first OF league game & you are staring down the same barrel that fired at Gio & Beale. And we all like big Phil, but he’s now got his own questions to answer.

maccalsa

Totally agree. We all knew we had recruited poorly. if you'd told the fan base they would have been still in it with 2 games to go the day Beale was let go, a lot would have thought you were mad. Now he's done that, with a squad of no depth, clearly weak mentally, and lacking at the very least athleticism he's suddenly a failure because we did not win the league?

Billy Paterson

Don't agree with most of that. How can he not stick with the serial losers? Who else is there? Our recruitment over the last 3 summer windows has been nothing short of a catastrophe. If PC had suddenly gone to a back 3 or played 442 against that mob and got beat, there would be fans up in arms slating him for changing the system and that is the reason we've been beat. Genuinely feel no manager if ours has a chance with some of the fans. There are too many ' I told you so types '.

Chris Graham 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Clement now has ?????? Against him because of this group The turnaround we need and are looking for might just be to far a stretch Let’s face it wind forward to May 2025 If Celtic are champions this time next year clement is out the door and we are no further forward The board to nils kopen to clement need huge investment and a massive shake up of club culture and what it takes and means to play for us Scotland is a weird wee country and the standard of football isn’t great but one thing that has been massively missed and looked passed imo is HEART , guts and the ability to dig deep , go to trenches and get fucked right into the battle Am no looking for lundstrum type tackles like this game but I want to see a side that can get out of trouble Grab late winners , turn games round but more importantly take the onus when they have it 1st game of the season ❌ 1 point from 4 old firms ❌ This comedic injury list ❌ Motherwell at home ❌ Dropping points in games that actually gets us in front ❌ All of the above is what’s lost is the league annually

Chris Graham 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Daft wee league we play in and yesterday a see a front 3 no better than hearts or Aberdeen Players with ma colours on that should have been away 2 seasons ago and guys collecting a wage that we should have replaced and bettered 3 seasons back after 55 It’s neglect mate Best in class 😂😂😂😂 Simply the best is now a red neck No surrender now has a white flag being waved Worlds most successful club by the end of May will be hanging by a fucking thread And 5 days after the cup final which we won’t win more money will be requested for season tickets at the start of June The club really need to realise all this and they need to make drastic overdue changes to freshen up and get the club aggressive , electric and pulsing with a new era of success Wur a fucking mile off

Roslyn Hutchison

Re John Lundstrum - I have always thought he slows us down, and therefore was never a fan. However, he has had a couple of purple patches but I don’t think that justified his reportedly high wage. What I saw under Clement was a player trying to get another good contract from the club and when that didn’t transpire he downed tools. IMO he should have been dropped before this. I agree he should be nowhere near the cup final.

Hendi

We need to know that he understands the sources of the problem we face. His words are offering us absolutely no assurance that he does. If you don't recognise an issue, you can't change it.

Iain Dunleavy

Time to go back to what all successful rangers teams have been built on a spine of good rangers supporting Scottish talent. This experiment of signing English duds from bottom half of prem/championship and league one hasn't worked since we have been back in the league so why do we continue to do it season after season. The amount of good Scottish players we have overlooked is staggering. Number 1 example is Lewis Ferguson who would have walked to Ibrox over broken glass a player who has been named best midfielder in Seria A yet half our support don't think he could cut it at Ibrox.

Stuart McWilliams

Having had time to calm down, while I still don't think the line up was right, I'm not sure too much blame can be attached to Clement. Our squad is so full of holes that whatever we do, we're leaving ourselves exposed. For example, if we play Cantwell we know he's not disciplined enough to do the defensive work and we'll lose the midfield (see the new year game and Aris at home), but we've also seen what happens when we pack the midfield with players who prefer to play deep - Dessers is left isolated and can't do what prime Morelos could do. In that scenario Lawrence is our best chance. It's the same with Sterling on the right, he might be better in the middle but that leaves Tav isolated and he doesn't have the pace to get up and down anymore. I've seen people suggestion 4-3-1-2 but that brings us back to the lack of width under Beale, and with our full backs we'd be in trouble. Until we fix the obvious problems in the squad, we're going to struggle. Unfortunately that might take 2 -3 windows as we need: Defenders and midfielders who can reliably beat the press, so we don't need to hit it long, pace on the flanks and clinical forwards (and then we need depth in the squad). We started to see the signs of what Clement wanted before Danilo was injured and then again in February when we had pace on the wing with Cortes but it will take time and investment to achieve it on a regular basis.

G Calder

If thats the case we are f@cked - we cant just keep changing managers . We need to suck it up for now.

Gregg

He doesn’t seem to be like he’s foolish - what he says in public and in private will be two very different things. Press conferences are only good for injury updates.

Andrew Finlayson

If Lundstrum starts in the heart of midfield in 2 weeks time, I will have major doubts over Clement … surely not

Christopher Bruce

Regarding Kevs comment towards the end of the pod regarding how we should be in the referees ear. Look at Collums demeanour when we ask for yellow cards or bookings, eyes bulging out his head telling our players to beat it. Then look at how he interacts with the Celtic players. It's little wonder ours want to approach him.

chris smith

Finally listened to this …. in the end, we are under-prepared, un-professional and badly coachef. That seems to be the bottom line after taning player qualitu into consideration
