Simon welcomes Iain, Ryan and Craig to discuss the weekends draw with Hearts before turning attention toward this Saturday's Scottish Cup Final.

How can the manager change things ahead of this one?

The boys give their views on this as well as taking a quick look at some players tenuously liked in the media for the summer.

Sterling should be a shoe in at right back next season.

Didn't manage to watch the game but saw highlights of the goals. Mccasuland is a talent and I think we need to stick with him. He's coming on to form and I feel he contributes and he also scores goals. Something we are shit at. However i think the biggest challenge PC faces is actually having a fitter squad and less injuries. Just an opinion but I think will a fully fit squad we probably would have one the league. I know mental and talent etc plays a part but I think injuries and fitness has been our biggest downfall and has never been rectified. Gio was playing sands and king at CB in the CL against Liverpool and the jury was out on him almost immediately after that. I know we had shit domestic form but just highlighting the injury scenario. We also went to the europa final with no fit forward and played aribo ffs. There are multiple things we need to fix/change but I again just an opinion believe PC will steady the ship. A win on Saturday would really give the club a massive morale boost and shine a lot.more positivity on the situation and hopefully be the catalyst for more wins next season. RTID 💙

I absolutely believe Clement is the man for the job. I'm sure plenty work already been done on who coming in and who he wants to move on. Re Shankland in January, we didn't put a bid in simply because there simply was no money. Transfer budget all spent in the summer. Clement made this clear.

Spot on about the state of this side. The mistakes against Hearts (full backs not defending, Dessers being Dessers and no pressing) were symbolically of how we have played all season. Pedro Caixinha absolutely did not have a good start btw!

Ryan McMillan

He did alright until the 5-1 doing at Ibrox. My point was more that the “we can judge him once he gets his own players” narrative was kicking around then & it inevitably led to a disaster because he was, among many things, tactically inept.

Graham Hendry

Re the 4231/433 argument, do we trust the players to follow either tactical set up? I’m not sure I do

Simon H&H

Same. I doubt they’ve got it in them. The manager has, in three games against them been 2-0 down before any reactions. He’s not started the right players. I fear he’s going to make the same mistake on Saturday and leave Sima on the bench for example. Everyone knows we need a fast start and not to be out the game before reacting. Big questions over the managers approach for this one. Off the ball, as I said, it’s ChaosBall. It’s wild and open. Midfield needs sorted

Ryan McMillan

It’s more about being more compact than anything else. At this point, PC has to show he can make alterations, based off previous issues. If he does that & the players let him down, the fans are clever enough to see that. That won’t be on him.

Graham Hendry

The midfield was a mess at Parkhead. Did he ask Lawrence to sit on McGregor and stop him playing? Watching TL press CCV while leaving acres of space behind was making my teeth itch.

Graham Hendry

A solid 433 would certainly be my preference but 4231 can work if the 10 sits on McGregor. But when are 10s ever that disciplined?

Ryan McMillan

We went 2 years unbeaten with a striker on the 6. Putting the 10 on them hasn’t really ever worked. We need to go back to basics in these games & make ourselves hard to score against & build from there.

Graham Hendry

100%. A 3 of Raskin, Sterling and Diomande gets my vote

Iain Campbell

No money, yet we funded 3 loan deals. We will most certainly be paying percentage of all 3 wages. For me it was naivety from the Board and to a extent the Manager

Gregg

This 💯- he was with McGregor a lot and then just ran towards CCV and was played round. It’s nonsense to suggest he’s more disciplined than Cantwell - he’s like a dog chasing a ball.

Gregg

We did sign a striker though - following Cortes and others being injured he has been shunted to left wing.

John leitch

Midfield is key We need to flood the midfield

Graham Hendry

I wouldn’t say either of them are disciplined enough which is fine against jobbers (mostly) but it’s kamikaze v them.

Steve Clark

I understood why he took Davis off.quite frankly even given some of his limitations,he gets injured in the last ten mins of a dead rubber and we are left with one fit centre half Leon King.

Martin Sutherland

I am very worried about throwing money at another manager who cannot win a big game v Celtic. Pedro, Beale and Clement situations worryingly similar. I am leaning towards a complete reset. My mind could be altered if he at least tries to fix the issues in the current set up next week.

Simon H&H

Yeah agreed. He has to have shown he has learned something from the three games against them.

Angus Mackay

The manager showed that he’s more than capable of setting a side up when he had fit players and especially defenders. Despite the fact that he identified lack of core fitness as a concern from the get go, he’s now being hung for problems that aren’t of his making. So now he has to ‘hit the ground running’ next season with a team of young players many of whom will be facing such demands for the first time. Going by this chat, the great likelihood is that by October he’ll be gone and we’ll be into the next cycle of self harm.

David Kiltie

In his first 3 months Pedro’s record was poor so when it came to the Progres Niederkorn fiasco he had no credit in the bank. Beale’s league form in his 1st 6 months was pretty good. It was the summer when he had the chance to put his stamp on the team that was his downfall- a diabolical transfer window and a dire preseason, both of which have blighted the entire season. The appointment of Nils Koppen and Tom Taylor have been made to remedy these problems. We can’t go through the cycle of sacking managers every autumn.

David Kiltie

Iain, I know you were very keen on signing Shankland. Age wise he would not fit the player trading model which we are trying to get going. Also I reckon Hearts would have demanded for an OTT fee. Going ahead with such a deal would mean going back the way the club is meant to operate. Anyway it’s all hypothetical now.

Iain Campbell

I'd like to see us go for him this summer. Proven SPFL striker is exactly what we need

Scott Farquhar

Tav gets caught out 1 on 1 a CH can’t go and help in that situation, he fails to stop the cross 9 times out of 10. All who demanded no playing 2 Def mids now crying out for them🤔 Sterling has been excellent, lets see him in his natural position!
