To David, we do need to see progress. Are we clear what the vision of the board and club is? Progress since 2012 has been gradual and fans have followed. Caixinha and Beale have been huge setbacks. DK was a period of leadership. DP was a a huge setback. Bisgrove a good appointment at Commercial Manager. Overreach as CEO. Is there a flaw? I think we are still using an old business model. I am big on our history and a supporter since 1965. I am concerned that we need to clearer about where we are going, what defines success? The longer we take, the longer it will take. The effect of huge money in the game gathers pace. Is the flaw a failure to understand the modern world of football? Vision needs to be clear and shared. Board needs to be united, capable. Money needs to be found on a different level. Do we really understand the size of the challenge to regain a leading position? I sense a cosy easiness and the board do not feel enough the importance improving performance and timescales.

“A mile high in team photos and an inch deep in quality” This is probably the best summary of them all

If we didn’t constantly miss sitters in big games we would not be in this very strange place. Signing a half decent striker in January would a won us the league as was proven by Celtic signing Adam Idah

In terms of squad physique and attributes, we’ve been stuck in no man’s land for the past couple of seasons. The likes of Dessers, Lawrence, Lundstram are throwbacks, their not fast, fit or strong enough for football in 2024 at a high level. 23 years ago, McLeish had a team filled with players who had similar issues such as Konterman, Flo etc. O’Neill went for a very overly physical side to bully the SPL, McLeish went with pace and movement and the likes of Lovenkrands, Caniggia, Arteta etc tilted the balance in our favour. Not saying we need to give up on any physicality, but we can’t be stuck in this purgatory we have currently…

I would like to see the team way more robust regarding strength rather than the desperate last gasp, take someone out. Liverpool demonstrated this against us in CL. It infuriated me. Teach the young new comers to be streetwise and develop that robust nature. The skill will be there. It will.

Totally agree too many sound bites from the board and not enough action. We seem to double down on mistakes rather than hold hands up and fix! The narrative around Ross Wilson was an example it was clear it wasn’t working after Seville and rather than fix it was brushed over. On the face of it we appear to have a decent football structure although with ZJ and JB leaving that could quickly change.

I think there is zero doubt we were complacent post 20/21. I will say that they fired Beale quickly enough and recognised an error, similarly changing recruitment from being solely in the hands of the manager. But it’s what we do now this window that matters.

Heart and Hand

Scott I agree and tbh I don’t think we have been physically strong enough. Then you add in the lack of pace and it’s a bad combination.

Match of the season - no mention of Betis away?

Cheers guys listening pool side in Salou 🍹

Agree with Ross on the Dundee game being “Biggest Disappointment”. I honestly believe as a team and set of supporters we just about talked ourselves out of that game with worries about the pitch, shouts for Dundee to forfeit and suggestions of alternative venues. We should have gone up there and gubbed such a mediocre team: end of story.

Andrew

Jack Butland has cost us in 2 old firms now including the final. Tav for scoring the only goal in the leauge cup final would be my player of the season.

Andrew

True... but he scored the winning goal in a cup final winning us out only bit of silverware this season and for me (obviously just a personal view.) That's far more important than a few good appearances.

Russ

Sorry Jack but it was our defence that cost us in the run in. As soon as we started shipping goals it was curtains.

Jack smith

Away to Ross County and Dundee we missed enough chances to have both games dead at half time.

Bixby Snyder

My dude! We would be fighting for second place with Hearts if it wasn’t for Butland.

Andrew

We were Second best . And Second best is still last in my eyes. If it wasn't for Tav we wouldn't have had a trophy at all and in my opinion should win him player of the year. I will die on that hill sorry lol.

Adam

Butland has had a very easy ride at times, purely because he's a fairly solid keeper. He was very culpable at times in the tail end of the season. His head seemed to go amidst the England call up chat. He definitely cost us in the cup final. Yet you'd be forgiven for thinking otherwise, given how briskly people acknowledged it.

Cameron McIver

My game of the season was probably Betis away from home. Not much to choose from as you all mentioned but that was a great result

SR

Disagree with the comparisons between early tenure Gerrard and early tenure Clement. Gerrard beat a much stronger Celtic side at the second time of asking and basically had them on the ropes from there on in, Clement has yet to do so and to me hasn’t shown much in terms of improvement.

Gary Brown

Missed chances was a massive factor but the winning run was built on solid defence, very few errors and taking some, even just 1 of the chances. Not a new thing, was the same every season Morelos was buffaloing about missing loads of chances.

Gary Brown

Thanks for the Flagship lads. Good, considered look back at the season.

Adam

On the ropes? They won back to back trebles, mate.
