Season 2016/17 was coming to an end and so was any lingering excitement at the managerial change. Insipid Rangers limped to 3rd as Pedro Caixinha tried different line-ups, formations and tactics to try to get a tune out of a squad which looked moribund.

Join Dave, Stuart and David as they go through Pedro's time as Gers boss.

I always remember the DJ actually played goal music after Miller scored, heady days. Edit, Davie has just mentioned it!

Miguel Sanchez

The sheer dissociation felt during this period is wild just watching a car crash in slow motion especially "we'll give him the summer to build his team and he gets a fresh start" knowing that it was impossible and categorically the Celtic defeats and Aberdeen at home and no signs of progress would be held against him. P.s. the Finn's love a drink eh 😂

John Walker

Honestly, would love to have been a fly on the wall at caixinha's interview. How we gave him the job is still unbelievable to me. By far the worst Manager ever appointed.

Graham Roy

I know we say it but I honestly don’t think many supports would have coped as well as we have with the past 12 years! And we still have another year of this show until we finally win something of merit! No wonder I drink!

I can remember players who played a handful of games for Rangers in the 1970s but I have no memory of Toral or Beerman! It's probably some sort of subconscious coping mechanism I guess 🫣

They say talking about traumatic events in your past is good for your mental wellbeing. I'm not so sure now.

Can't believe Pedro's comment on how they knew Barrie Mckay wasn't training " hard enough " didn't get a mention ....... wasn't it along the lines of " we have the data it doesn't lie "

Craig Fryatt

Great show, having lived in Aberdeenshire since 1991 I wanted Pedro sacked purely for losing that record

Craig Patterson

I watched the 5-1 old firm in a bar in Portugal before walking my mum down the aisle for her wedding vow renewal, “honestly I’m just happy for you mum that’s why I’m crying”

John McMillan

F**k me. I lived in England during this season, but I watched every game on tv. Every game, even if it was just the highlights. I remember nothing whatsoever about John Tirrel. Not a thing. Couldn't tell you if he was black, white, Scottish or Martian. 🤷

Stewart Thomson

Making it up as he went along from game to game. I agree with Stuart, undoubtedly we had a rubbish squad of players, but this period is actually worse than I remember.

Thanks for this pod lads. Great work as ever, thanks for your continued commitment to this. Any fool can grab a tiger by the balls but it takes a hero to keep squeezing! I don't remember any actual detail of these matches, even when you're going through them. I was definitely there, sober too, for all of them. Zero recollection, not a scooby, of the games or any of the goals. Vague recall of talking about certain incidents with the guys around me. You guys used to post links to the games being discussed in the notes. When you're re-watching is it full 90 or highlights and what source/s do you use or prefer? Asking for a friend😉😆 I had a coping mechanism through the wilderness years. I allowed myself to rage, mope and / or despair on the walk back to the car, about 15 mins. Soon as I got there it was 'Ok. Done! Leave it behind. Only football. At least I still have a Rangers to support.' Maybe I'm off my nut, maybe doing that is the reason I'm not! I do really miss the 'Silencing the sheep since 91' banner.

Watched the games on Rtv as I lived abroad but honestly when you mentioned we played them in thecup semi final I thought “did we?” Then you mentioned the other games and I thought “nope” don’t remember them either. Talk about blocking it out.🤷‍♂️

Greig Neilson

Why did I listen to this on a Friday? 🤯🫣

Anyone got the name of Edgar's step daughter, might be the only good thing to come of this series....(asking for a friend)

Keith Magilton

Listening to this now it’s eerie similar to where we are now
