I'm with Cammy, I'd be laughing if we got 3m for Cyriel. Anything like 2m+ and we deal imo. Although there is the real conundrum of him being a 20+ goals striker and a known entity to us - it's why I wouldn't have sold Fashion when we did. It probably hurt us in the end.

Can't get excited about any of these signings. No interest in watching a team full of foreign players. If I wanted that I'd be better served just watching the EPL rather have spending £600 or so on a season ticket to Ibrox. Think this is the last season for me.

The moment our league challenge started to fall apart was when Dessers missed an open goal at Dingwall which would have put us 2-0 up and probably would have been enough for us to hold on for the win. Something we needed after the Motherwell debacle at Ibrox. The problem is not getting a fee for the player should the club wish to sell him it will be who would be willing to match his wages. I can see him going out on loan like Lammers.

Has there been any update on Cyriel's injury? Last I heard there was speculation it was ankle ligament damage and he might not be fit for the start of the season but I think that was before he had a scan.

I wasn't keen on it during the Adocaat years either, and that was when we were signing top class foreign players. That team went tits up after the second season too, and the various foreign cliques in the dressing room was a factor. In that first season he kept around a handful of players to have a core of domestic talent who understood the club. Successful Rangers teams have a core of domestic talent. We don't. Nor have we been able to produce any. I don't fault anyone for not agreeing with me. It's just not for me.

At least our recent signings show that we are not just paying lip service to the player trading model. It is a fair criticism of Dessers that he misses too many chances, but 22 goals in a season can’t be dismissed. The conventional wisdom that anyone can score masses of goals in Scotland if they play for either of the big two is not borne out by the facts. As David says, the market will decide what fee we can receive for Cyriel if he moves on. It has always ground my gears the moan from other clubs in Scotland that Rangers take their players for far less than their real value. A player is worth what someone is willing to pay for him. If the likes of Naismith, Whittaker, Thomson, Wallace etc were worth far more then another club would have paid far more - the boards of those clubs could have rebuffed Rangers’ offer in the knowledge that another club would come in with much higher bids. Rangers’ wince-making pursuit of David Goodwillie in the Craig Whyte era helped blast this myth - the embarrassingly low bids were rejected by Dundee Utd and they sold him to Blackburn. Never let facts and logic get in the way of an attack on Rangers….

I couldn’t care where the players are from. Main thing any Rangers fan wants is a successful league winning team. The main thing is that the players can all speak English and communicate well on the pitch. Out of interest what do you class a foreign?

If we do end up selling Tavernier and Goldson to Saudi or elsewhere. Who do you think will be Captain? I prefer an outfield player to be Captain, but the only player I can see at the moment who could do that role would be Butland. Say what you want about Tav and Goldson they were available for the majority of our games. Same can't be said for the rest of the squad.

If the club are actively trying to shift Tav and Goldson I find that very encouraging as we really do need a wholesale clear our . With the exception of Sterling I genuinely wouldn’t be disappointed to see anyone else leave (Including Butland if it’s for the right price)

eg - Dessers is shite, get rid, ok so he scored 20 shuda scored 30. 20 goals in our league is easy anyway. Morelos is God, ripped it up, ragdolled defences, incredibly successful here - Never scored 20 league goals. Just saying!
