Scotland head to Cologne knowing a loss Vs a Swiss side who impressed in their opening game would see Scotland be the first side eliminated from Euro 2024, after just 5 days!

Big changes are needed in design, approach and personnel if a positive outcome is to be achieved in MD2.

Alex, Steven and Iain Preview the Group A fixture.

If he doesn’t start Shanks he should resign on the spot

John Davidson

That's not strictly true. Scotland could lose to Switzerland and still go through. Clearly more difficult but not mathematically impossible.

😂 Kev’s waiting for Rangers. I was thinking more along the lines of Robbie Nielson 😁

Good point Stevie re: us in the CL. I remember hearing how our drubbings in the CL should have been looked at in isolation/not criticised but the fact is better teams will dish these doings out to lesser ones. Scotland look desperate, they will struggle to get much from their group.

This is what happens when you employ a Kilmarnock level manager as an international manager. This team got a couple great results in qualifying, rode their confidence, got plaudits and deservedly so.......but this squad peaked 12 games ago. The starting 11 had 5 EPL players, should have been 6 if you count Gilmour and 8 if you consider Adams and Gunn will be EPL next season. It's not the players, it's the manager. The fact he went ballistic at McPhee proves he's not cut out for this level. Didn't see him going mental at his defence coach for shipping 5 goals. I don't enjoy seeing Scotland lose, but I'll enjoy seeing Clarke leave.

Unless they get 4 points they are out , won’t get through in third due to g/d now after the drubbing

That’s like finally coming to your senses and dumping Susan Boyle to then take up with Michelle McManus

The harsh reality it that we have looked - by some distance - the poorest team at the Euros (writing with only Port v Czech to play). We have an alki dinosaur for a manager, a goalie who is not international standard, a wealth of cbs none of whom would get in any other team in the competition and a forward line who are nowhere near good enough either. We have decent enough players in midfield but the manager refuses to play the only one with the ability to control games. We end up looking like a hot mess, running about with no discernible pattern of play hoping that McGinn or McTom will profit from the chaos … criminally, we also look unfit and under-coached

I'm honestly not sure how good our midfield is really, we don't often create nailed on chances, our forwards do a lot of work, but just don't get decent service At the back I agree, we are awful

Ross

come on Switzerland 🇨🇭

Spot on regarding the acceptance of mediocrity lads. Far too many in country happy accept being their as a success. No one expected us to beat Germany, but we should be competitive.
