James and Simon are here to discuss the two games that took place in Germany today as another Quarter Final tie was set. Own goal was at it again as the only scorer of the day to help France get past the Belgians, whilst we would get our first penalty shoot out of the summer (as well as a weeping Ronaldo) as Portugal would eventually get past a hard working Slovenia side.

France and Belgium really could’ve gone either way. Heartbroken for Slovenia, Oblak was incredible. I can’t tell you the relief when Ronaldo scored in the shootout. Football is better place with CR7

Now that Georgia are out can we whisper it yet, … its getting really boring. Continuous bizarre decisions by the refs (is it the instructions there are being given … where standing on someones toe in a 50/50 tackle carries the same punishment as a rugby-style tackle which would actually be red-carded in rugby!) … the pitches are all cutting up all the time and the ball, … have they made it lighter after all the stunning goals from outside the box in the first few games? Every shot, … constantly over the bar … the tournament is surely Spain’s to win if they beat Germany.
