What a lovely quote from Stevie in regards to the daily discomfort of disabled supporters every day.

chris smith

Play at Ibrox, try to get fixtures reversed, compensate those who require it. Bite the bullet. Move on.

James McSween

You would think the club would maybe lay on a good few bus for fans if we need to play in Murrayfield. The main thing is the club fulfils its fixtures regardless of where we need to play. Also any fan looking for compensation for this isn’t a good look.

James McSween

If you can’t make the game put your ticket on seatsub. Club can then give you a code for RTV to watch the game.

Iain Campbell

The club should actively be looking to compensate ST holders who are not willing to or cannot travel to an alternative venue. This would be in good faith by the club as when purchasing a ST, jn good faith you are doing so to watch at Ibrox

James McSween

No fan should be taking money from the club. Only alternative for fans not wanting to travel would be do a beam back in Ibrox. Give them a voucher for food and have a few players giving autographs/pictures.

Roderick Boyle

There is another point that seems to have been missed in regard to opening the three stands . The protection that has been laid on the pitch at the Copeland Road end for the heavy plant covers a significant portion of the box etc . The grass will be dead underneath as a consequence of this and this presents a huge challenge for the ground staff to bring it back , the ultraviolet lights will help but you can’t force Mother Nature . It is going to be a direct choice of Hampden or Murrayfield , the latter has a far superior playing surface as the SRU invested years ago in a hybrid grass pitch , no matter which option the Board take there will be an outcry from supporters , the supply of steel from Asia just proves how the UK has fallen away with manufacturing with the vast majority outsourced to the Far East , look no further back than the pandemic , almost everything comes from there and we have no control over it at all .

Stewart Campbell

If the club fail to provide the games we have paid for at Ibrox they have no right to have the money you’ve paid. They can resell the seats so should be treated like seat sub.

Scott Affleck

How many times did Stevie need to say "we're not an Edinburgh team"

Iain Campbell

I would deem that acceptable in terms of compensation. I'd severely doubt any ST would actively be looking to 'take' money from the club. But offering a alternative is essential for those who cannot attend, due to various circumstances

John Smith

I’ve missed you guys

John Smith

I know we aren’t Edinburgh but cmon man, screw Hampden, Murrayfield is the shit

George Higgins

Murrayfield. Train to Haymarket where there is a tram outside that takes you to a stop at Murrayfield. You can walk it in 20 mins from the train station. Lots of pubs on the way. Better sight lines too. Lots of bears live North or South of Edinburgh. Not really an issue for England either. Better than Hampden and would also have capacity for non season ticket holders to go. Also the terms and conditions of the season ticket basically say Rangers can play a home game anywhere.

Graeme Homer

We can’t use Ibrox as the pitch isn’t down and we can’t be putting heavy machinery on it during games without damaging it and that would cause more panty wetting. Hampden is a shitehole and Murrayfield is far superior and as a bear from NI it’s no issue at all to travel too. On holding players to long, how many arguments has there been on here about selling the likes of Alfie and Kent for yourself and listeners to say no we’ve gotta hold on to them can’t have it both ways. I disagree with Nsiala not be first team ready given he was on the bench for A.C, so there was faith he could be relied on if need. Igamane is nothing to do with Right to dream nor the academy director, Koppen has a scout that’s mainly based in Morocco and he’s used them to get plenty of African based players to his previous clubs. Kabadayi isn’t a Schalke player, he was on loan there he was a Bayern player and talk in Türkiye and Germany is we backed out over Bayern’s moving of the goalposts. It was meant to be a straight up deal and we bought him then it was changed to buy him with clauses similar to Tillman or a loan exactly like Tillman’s and we’ve decided against being part of that.

David Kiltie

At last the club has addressed this longstanding failure to provide decent facilities for disabled fans. As Kevin alluded to, a few months down the line this current embarrassment will be in the past but we can look with pride at a much improved stadium.

Craig Fryatt

My favourite line up of the preview squad and once again Harrington is on the money. Completely agree regarding Cantwell and Marco Negri chasing the blue pound .

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

Edinburgh is not a footballing city?! Eh Hearts and Hibs, I’ll just leave this here 🤦‍♂️

Gregg

I live in Edinburgh and love it - but it’s not a football city.

Gregg

You’ve swayed me John I’m in. Murrayfield hotel for pints aye?

John Smith

100% Gregg 🍻 Let’s take advantage of this and get an AC/DC concert going for half time. No going back if it’s done right

Andy Sladen

Really enjoyed the pod guys a great listen. Regarding the delays at Ibrox. I had sympathy with Edmiston House as they couldn’t have picked a worse time to do this work. I know there were issues in shortages of core materials and supply chain issues meaning that lead times went from weeks to months and increased prices. However my take on this one is that if it’s delays in the supply of steel from Asia then this is inexcusable. They have known about this work for long enough and the supply of the material should have been ordered well in advance. Now I’m only basing my judgement on what’s been said and to be honest I don’t believe everything this board tells us. Plus the silence from them is deafening. If there were unknown issues in construction at Ibrox that can happen. Apologies for the long ranty message. Mr Harrigan see you in the Rolls Royce when we finally get back to Ibrox!

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

Yeah me too Gregg. For me it is but Glasgow is the bigger/biggest footballing city P.S. back soon with a new show 😎

David Kiltie

Yes, we are a Glasgow club and Auld Reekie is more a rugby city, but in terms of the politics Murrayfield may be the better option. The SRU can deal with Rangers as a bona fide 3rd party. The SFA will always be wary of the accusation of “pandering to the Huns” from the Yahoos and, to be fair, followers of many other clubs. I can testify from living in Edinburgh for many years that there are plenty of Bears in the capital and much of Fife and West Lothian is very staunch. For many of our fans a few games at Murrayfield wouldn’t be the worst thing,

David Kiltie

I agree, Graeme. I have no connection with the construction industry but from a common sense point of view it would seem impractical for major work to stop on a Friday afternoon and start again on a Monday morning without leaving a major imprint on the stadium environment in the interim.

David Kiltie

Agree, Iain, giving reasonable compensation to ST holders affected by the switch of venue will cost the club money, but it reflects Oscar Wilda’s aphorism about the difference between the price of something and its value. The upgrade of disabled facilities, which has given rise to this situation, echoes the same principle.

Gregg

100 David - having a couple options should mean we aren’t getting shafted. Murrayfield is a no brainer for me

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

Yeah I’m being selfish by wanting some games at Murrayfield. Rangers win financially with that and could even compensate bears who can’t make it through

Gregg

People travel from all over to support the club - if folk can’t travel less than an hour they deserve nothing but disdain imo trev

Martin Sutherland

I was set on Hampden as the best option, but having listened to this I think we need to go 3 stands and compensate the Copland stand supporters.

Steven L

It’ll do more than piss people off. It’s Hampden or Murrayfield.

David_Davy_Dave

I am sure I am in the absolute minority but I swore after the madness of 2012 I wouldn’t be attending other football grounds in Scotland The idea of giving the SFA £ and/or listening to how they helped us out is unpalatable for me Murrayfield and reverse as many fixtures as needed in the league (Hearts did exactly that) rather than Hampden for me
