Davies, Mccrorie, King, Dowell, Lawrence, Wright, Matondo, Goldson, Tavernier, Hagi, Dessers, Lammers, Cantwell, Lowry - should all be gone ASAP. The squad needs overhauled.

Charlie Nicolson

1. I find myself agreeing with David's comments on the lack of information from the Club. 2. Saudi transfer window opens on 17/7, however, I imagine the agents and clubs will have deals in place. Just need to dot the i's and cross the t's

Colin Gilchrist

Dinosaur Jr in late 00s was one of the loudest gigs I’ve ever been to. Wonderful! Have since bought ear plugs to protect my hearing at gigs

James Curran

I agree on your point about the radio silence from the board. We really need the chairman to step up and lead the club. I believe behind the scenes the Rangers leadership team are working to get this sorted. But without any update of rallying cry we’re left rudderless. I’m hoping John Bennet does an interview or at the very least releases a statement on the current state of play by the end of this week

Ian Gillies

Don’t let me fuck up will you, cos when I need a friend it’s still you. Tune

Jordan McKay

If someone has briefed the Record/S*n before Rangers have been able to communicate to fans then it’s yet another disgraceful milestone in this joke of a saga. Surely the club knows that the silence isn’t good enough.

Peter Hosie

Fear, uncertainty and doubt with the wall of silence from the FUDs running us and the buck stops at Bennett and the board… Simples.

Bobby

David nails it 100% today. It’s been a own goal by our club leaving us not knowing and open to attacks from others

Graeme McLeod

Regarding the loan market. It's difficult for clubs like ourselves as we're aiming to win trophies, and there's an expectation to win every game. TV money has forever changed the landscape and we're now loaning lads from teams where that isn't the case. Add to that the notion that a loan signing should be better than the club's own options and it's tricky. Silva never really worked as he wasn't the prolific goalscorer that we needed, and wasn't a winger where he was usually played. It'll have benefited him as he's played in another position, but that's it. And unfortunately when we do bring in a loanee who is successful, it's rare that we can sign them permanently. Davis in 2008 and Kent in 2019 spring to mind, but it's rare. Usually a loan either flops because of the difficulties for a club like ourselves using the loan market, or the player's value soars/other clubs take note.

Doogz

Seen a lot of folk say when Bennet was appointed this was a great move by Rangers, he is a very switched on businessman, why then do we seem to lurch from one clusterfuck to another on a regular basis? He needs to giving the support some answers sharpish, weeks away from CL qualifiers and we still don’t know where we are playing. Best in class?? Fucking stop it!

Douglas Wright

Think the club are dammed if they do, dammed if they don't. They could put out a statement saying they are still working on it and will give an update on due course, that won't fill the vacuum, it still invites speculation and all the crap that goes with it. Folk will attack them for not being ready no matter what the situation is. The SFA are hardly easy to deal with and could twist any statement rangers make into demands for more money/changing terms etc. I think the club is best keeping quiet until we can announce what the next steps are. What is happening now wouldn't have changed with a hold fire statement.

Robert Atkinson

Wouldn’t be opposed to Cantwell staying. He’s not keeping anyone better out the team. Same with Dessers.

Colin Gilchrist

The gig I had in mind was in London but also saw them at ABC and that was loud also. Not known for their softer moments

Jamiedfa

Brilliant update David, spot on!

JimGLW

The prospect of getting our money back on Dessers is fantastic. Good pod and spot on with the intro.

Graham Jones

At this rate we’re going to be starting with the B side, but the truth is the market has been pretty flat. That doesn’t sate our appetite for new signings, but I do think the club are having to look to sell and buy simultaneously. I hope the club aren’t selling Dessers for what we paid for him. He scored over 20 goals last session, and everyone looking in sees those numbers. I think those who don’t rate Dessers are too eager to shift him and would be pleased to get their money back, but he’s now had value added to him as a player through Clement’s work with him. Some of the prices quoted by the fan base can be ridiculous, but we are lowballing ourselves here. As for the media work, we’ve not controlled the narrative since Gerrard left. the manager has been the only honest one over the past twelve months, because he was genuinely shocked at the state of things. I’d prefer to go to Murrayfield that’s be held to ransom by Queen’s Park, who seem to be holding out for a fee to move to Lesser Hampden. I’m sick of Scottish football taking us for mugs. We need leadership in the boardroom.

Heart and Hand

No it wouldn’t change the actual stadium issue, but it might help with a parallel problem - the disconnect a lot of fans are feeling. Perception matters.

Paul

That's my point. They aren't good enough and need replacing

Douglas Wright

I disagree, a hold fast statement would just promote anger towards the club for not havinga solution, a quick look at FF shows its not the lack of update thats the issue but rather the delay in the 1st place. Rangers fans are known for being so level headed.

Stillsaw

I realise I’m very much in the minority (banned on ff) but truthfully the stadium delay doesn’t get me angry, upset, hurt etc at all. I do realise it’s a shit show but it was always goiny happen imo. The board are in a loose-loose situation. Again imo I’m not interested in being placated with meaningless info. When the board have something worth reading I’m sure they will release it. Again just my opinion and I realise most folk disagree and that’s cool

Heart and Hand

I think that’s more the extremes. The vast majority are quite calm but what worries me is that those are the ones beginning to feel apathetic.

Scott Cameron

Echoing my own thoughts and current feeling 100% on the stadium and PR/comms debacle off the back of it.

David Campbell

Our loyalty is being taken for granted. Sitting in July and feeling like the season is already a shambles. Patience is slowly running out for me with this board. This certainly isn't the best in class the chairman spoke about get it fixed Rangers

Brian Rae

Realising that the overhaul we desperately need will take several transfer windows hit me the other day. All signings so far, except Cortes, appear to be squad players. We need to get so much dead wood out the door that I can't see it happening in one or two windows. If I'm being honest, the Chairman lost my support after his patronising "best in class" interview when he was VC. He is now overseeing one shit show to the next and ultimately, has to take responsibility for this. His silence is deafening and he may well excel as a hedge fund manager, but he's failing badly at being the chairman of a football club, our club that is fast becoming a total laughing stock. Is he "best in class"? For too long, our club has been a hobby for wealthy, arrogant imposters and simply loaning the club money at a reasonable rate is, IMO, no longer justification to be beyond any sort of scrutiny or criticism. No CEO, No head of youth, no real improvement in a 1st team that needs a massive overhaul and radio silence on an issue that will inconvenience thousands of fans and sponsors. We are leaderless and have been for far too long and it's evident in every aspect of the club.

Greg

Dinosaur Jr!!!

Scott Dickson

RE McLean, the part that’s difficult is getting Rangers to pay the transfer fee Norwich will want for their POTY last year, when it’s money we’ll never get back. From a financial perspective, Kenny McLean on £20-25k p/w for 3 seasons is a £3-4million investment for us, which is justifiable. But, if you add on a £2million transfer fee (which you’ll never make back on a 32 year old), it’s a £5-6million investment on someone which is a bit of a disaster from an FFP perspective…

Robert Reid Jnr

Can the ST holders in CR stand not be absorbed by the public sale seat's in the other stands until upgrade is finished?

Derek Robertson

You have to wonder why all these clubs are interested in Dessers (who is terrible player according to many in our support) yet Shankland who some want as a replacement is not wanted by clubs in Holland , Italy or Spain. What is it our support know that these clubs in Europe don't

Graeme McLeod

Clubs all over Europe barely took a second glance at Michael Mols before we signed him. And I haven't seen anyone claim that Shankland is someone who would succeed in the top 5 leagues. He has, however, shown he's capable of scoring against Celtic, can score in this league and knows the expectations of this club as he's a fan himself. Some people think that doesn't matter. I disagree with them - we've spent years signing guys who wouldn't have known how to spell "Ibrox" before arriving and it's brought one title and two cups - but that's where the schism you refer to begins. Not everyone buys into the notion that Shankland would be a bad signing because he can "only score in Scotland," as we'd rather actually win titles in Scotland first and foremost. (There's no danger we're signing him anyway.)

Graeme McLeod

It's not "meaningless info" to communicate to season ticket holders how long the club currently expect to be away from Ibrox. Just days ago they took money from my bank account for my season ticket, and haven't officially communicated to me how long I'm not actually able to attend games there. And before anyone suggests I can just cancel the direct debit, no. The club won't refund any fans who stop paying for their instalments once the payments start. After a certain deadline they keep that money and the seat is offered to someone else at full value. Not having a go at you for not being bothered. That's your prerogative. But it's not meaningless info at all to let us know the state of play.

Leslie White

We want instant success unfortunately life in this media instantaneous times doesn’t happen. An area where the Board have failed is taking on Liewells placemen in black. If we take off blinkers and assess our results last year would have likely have won the league due to Incompetence or corruptness. David should be addressing this area otherwise it will be the usual amount of corruptness.

David_Davy_Dave

Spot on David I think most fans WANT to be patient but stuff like the stadium nonsense burns that patience The big problem with the silence is people fill it with debate (no offence). By the time they do state the contingency everyone will have decided what their personal preference is & grumbling becomes inevitable

Martin Davies

I'd quite like an update on the venue for the £2500 worth of season tickets my family have spent yet again. Shit happens with construction projects. But complete silence is unacceptable, unprofessional and smacks of zero consideration for fans.

stephen

The shambles that is the stadium issues is really starting to infuriate. The way the board just seem to take us as "mug punters" who will do what we are told (eventually) and just fucking lump it really sticks in the throat. We just seem to lurch from disaster to catastrophe and we are always the last consideration. We have all paid significant sums for season tickets which won't be fulfilled as advertised (at ibrox) but we're expected to keep our mouths shut and wait until instructed. I know I'm just bitching and moaning but I'm fed up with it always being us (the fans) who are expected to deal with the fall out of another poorly executed and embarrassing mess by people who seem to offer little else. Am I being over the top?

Mr J K Murray

as there is no relation to terrestial time from the club of whens regarding the ongoing metamorphosis, have to keep the Rangers spirit, on something different, while doing a survival course in the North sea, jumping into the water in November, not that it matters what month as it was far from shore, I trod water on my own when the Americans in an outboard motor dingy told me to get in a huddle, sirs I am a Glasgow Rangers supporter & do not do huddles, end up drifting away & the huddle is for heat & keeping an eye on strugglers, it was through a linking of arms of which I personally thought was using more energy than needed and some form of rope is needed to tie bodies dead or alive together till the survival boat arrives, distance myself from ground seating problems & transfers as have to trust this treading of water at the moment, could be worse,

Gordon Mac

The chairman has let down the season ticket holders, who have put their money down, he has let down the share holders and he has let himself down.

Niall P

Probably find out when we get the Castore Murrayfield/Hampden Home Collection email 🤷‍♂️

Heart and Hand

Oh and one title in 12 years, 3 unsuccessful ones isn't wanting 'instant success'. In fact, it's remarkably patient.

Robbie McCarroll

Transfer window needs revamped globally now with markets like Saudi and China out of sync with European windows and more international football…

Jim Lamb

In the real world, any business who treated their customers like Rangers treat us, would be in serious bother. Regarding Dessers not being our first choice striker, I’m not so sure. We’re not exactly blessed with top strikers, so not sure who goes in ahead of him! As things stand, I’d argue he is first pick which tells you all you need to know if that’s the case!

Graham Miller

Deep down I’m not fussed by the stadium issue. We’ve probably not issued a statement as we probably have not worked out how long we’ll need another one. As for Europe CL financially would be great but realistically we will not be ready for it. My concern is we’re having to wait to sell players before we can buy.

hugh yates

Our customer service is up there with the worse going about they only care about our money

Eric Stewart

Forget Hampden & Murrayfield, should play games at Wembley stadium - in no way related to my role there as a fire officer 👀🫡😎

Liam Johnson

Exactly, he kept Danilo out the team when fit twice, under 2 managers. Danilo’s got more to prove than Dessers who is first choice

greg sutherland

I think we are in big trouble. I don't think I have ever felt so "meh" about the start of a season . A couple of early defeats when we are homeless will lead to an early crisis.

Tommy

David, you’ve absolutely nailed it with your introductory message. I’m the same age as you. Can you tell me a time when the club has every spoken to the support with honesty, in a mature way where they treat the support like adults? This has never been the case. Whether it’s a legacy of PR agencies or certain individuals at the club they’ve never been honest with the support. Bisgrove did more than any previous CEO/Director to address this (we need to give him credit there) but Bennett has gone back to the classic approach of getting messages out there via Keith Jackson. The entire culture of the club is built on taking the support for granted and showing no respect. Owners and CEO’s come and go, the culture remains. The stadium issue itself doesn’t worry me too much - this stuff happens and I’m not as angry as others - it’s just the way the club have conducted themselves, from the initial PR release (“we’ve sacked someone” wtf!!) to the non-communication. Are we back with Traynor or Jack Irvine? PR from a different era. Anyway, keep up the good work mate.

Tommy

Dessers has great numbers that shows he scores in multiple leagues As we’ve seen, numbers isn’t everything

Robert Paterson

Very balanced and heartfelt response… hope the club hear your thoughts and take notice of some great advice to our club to reach out and let the supporters know what our game plan is A.S.A.P.!! Keep up the great work Dave and the team!

Hendi

Not often you hear "Airdrie" and "progressive ideas" in the same sentence 😁

David Mackie

Once again this Rangers board treating the fans like idiots with the ridiculous silence over the stadium. You were spot on that it's time they told us what the current situation is with the stadium, they were not slow to take our cash for our seats so where the hell will that seat be ? Board deserve nothing but criticism and my trust in them gets lower ever day.

Bruce Taylor

2012 is now 14 years ago. Succession planning at Club has strong aspects of not learning. Limited financial resources are not being well used. I hope that is changed at the start of this season.

Rose Mcloughlin

Thank you David and the team for keeping us going through the blank time between seasons...I know you keep us updated and you always seem to voice how we all feel...hope the board listens in to h&h too....and hope you keep your spirit up above all the constant e mails ect you are all great...⭐
