It’s all very strange that the club leak this information to a journalist at the Herald/Rangers Review and the chairman doesn’t have the foresight or baws to address the fans.

Very worried about the season already. I'm normally optimistic, but our team is weaker now than we ended the season with. If the first few games go poorly, the manager will be under immense pressure/ sacked/ walk and we'll be up shit creek. The board have made a rip-roaring arse of the last few seasons, and the team will pay the price.

"Helpless bystanders" would be a step up to how the club treat our fans. At best we're treated similar to customers at a drive-through - get as much money from as many people as possible then get them to f*ck. But you're right David, they absolutely need to get this right from this point on, trust and confidence within the fanbase is at its lowest. Isnt the issue with the transfer business so far that it sets us up again for a season of players who ‘aren’t conditioned properly’ which according to the manger comes from a poor preseason ? I might be totally off the mark here but hasn’t the clubs mantra been over a number of recent years that we do our business early so we can get players in and work with them ASAP to prep for our early start ? The manger conditioned us last year to believe that only an extensive, comprehensive pre-season could set the foundations for the season in terms of the players conditioning and fitness. We have bought into that to now talk about late arrivals for the meat of our signings this season seems to contradict the mangers assertions, this urgency has been generated by the messaging the club has put out not fans desperation or negativity. I am sanguine about the whole thing in general, my own preference would be to go 90% youth and prospects with a smattering of experience but if we are more conservative and split the age / experience 50/50 then so be it if the players are logical. To my mind however the desperation to get people in is firmly due to the constant communications from the club or manager around how important pre-season is coupled with a desire to see real wholesale change. As it stands, depending on your view, we look young and inexperienced OR we have simply bought a full bench of new young talent to waste and none of the big signings are here yet. As you say however a bit of clear messaging and a rallying cry from the board we can get behind around our plans would be very helpful. Im not mad, I’m not angry, I’m not even disappointed, I’m just…meh about the activity this close season, my only concern is another season where we try absolutely nothing new and then wonder why it ends the same way, then we rinse and repeat for next season with more transfer turmoil and a poor trophy haul.

Ah fuck. Listened to room 101 and both today's letter and Davids response and was nodding along in full agreement. Then it occurred to me.....we're all effectively the guys who wait till a band is playing at Ibrox or Hampden and then tell folk with tickets " I'm not going. I saw them when they were touring the first EP and you're all plastic fans", aren't we? 😂 (Still not wrong on either count BTW)

I'm not in the know by any means but absolutely that can not be true. If is is they this truely will be a bad season. I highly suspect this is just stupid gossip as there is a lot of negatively around the club at present. With the hangover to last season when we blew it and our boards mistakes and lack of transparency is causing negative people to fill the vacuum. From my prospective i didn't think we have the manager we have or the sporting director we have if we have zero ambition

The clubs media has been poor since Gerrard left with his team. They ran rings around the media and everyone else. We need to hire someone of that calibre for the media, and we need a top CEO who is the right fit for the club. I guess we’ll probably get one in about a years time, given how long it took them to find Nils Koppen. I think the transfer situation is as you stated, it’s being made to wait for others to start. They could’ve got ahead if they’d planned better, but that doesn’t seem to be their forte in any area. I’m beginning to think Bisgrove was asked to find a new job, and that he was the one who bought the goods from Asia. It sounds like a Bisgrove move. It has his DNA all over it, because we all remember what it was like when Castore first launched our first kit, and the season after that one.
